First off I have to say that this was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The crowd was into every band and each band sounded spot on. I didn't see any of the jager stage bands but I did see every main stage band and will post each of their set lists. Halestorm was a great opener and brought a lot of energy to the stage. Lzzy can really belt out those vocals and the drum solo/circle thing they do is amazing! Stone Sour was up next and they really reminded of a Slipknot show (i know it pretty much is slipknot). They had a ton of energy, Corey was jumping around the entire time and really got the crowd going. This was my first time seeing Avenged Sevenfold even though I have been a fan for quite some time and they totally blew me away. I wasn't to sure how good they would sound live but they sounded awesome! There stage set up was really cool except for the creepy guy hanging the entire time during Nightmare. They did a real cool dedication to their former drummer "Rev" during So Far Away. It was amazing to see how many lighters/cellphones where up. Finally Disturbed hit the stage and kicked ass as usual. The intro (remnants) along with the video leading up to Asylum was sick! David sounded spot on as did the rest of the boys. Sounds like the time off really did good for Davids voice. The highlight f the show for me was Stupify but their entire set really kicked ass! I cant wait for them to come back around for MAAW V. It was great seeing Disturbed back in my home town again, first time sense Mayhem Fest in '08. If anyone is wondering about going to this tour def go see it! It is well worth the money. Except for the 9.50 beers they raped me for.

Halestorm:

It's Not You
What Were You Expecting

Stone Sour:

Avenged Sevenfold:

Welcome to the Family
Beast and the Harlot
Buried Alive

God Hates Us
Unholy Confessions
Almost Easy

Disturbed:

Cool 1st post man. I warn you now that you're going to get some shit but don't let it bother you. For a newbie you did a great job of reviewing the show and an ever better job with the setlists.

That being said the only thing I saw totally differently (when I saw them) was the Halestorm drum solo thing. Maybe I've seen it too many times from too many better drummers but when I saw them do it I wanted to projectile vomit. I see why people like them but they copy so many other bands that I just can't respect them. That's just me though.

Avenged Sevenfold not playing Bat Country is mind-boggling to me. Definitely one of their 10 best songs.

Appreciate it jhdeity! I figured I would get shit anyways because it seems like a lot of the ppl on here aren't fans of Disturbed or other main stream heavy rock bands for that matter (I've been checking this website for a while now) but that's cool, to each our own. I agree with A7X not playing Bat Country I was surprised seeing as it is one of their top songs. I was hoping to hear Eternal Rest too but all in all it was great!

Good review. I was there as well and Disturbed did great. That's the best i've seen them out of the five times i have. They had a giant digital video screen in the back which was new for them live as far as I know. There were also 3 video screens on each side of the drummer. There were video effects for each song. Combining that with the lighting and occasional bursts of fire Disturbed has more going on live than they ever have. I would like to give a more detailed review but i'm having computer problems right now and i'm posting this off my peice of shit phone. Hopefully over the next few days I can post a better review.

first off, great review. and sadly it seems like Avenged has pretty much forgotten city of evil and waking the fallen besides the 2 songs they have been playing on this set which is a shame. more of a possibility to hear songs when they headline but u wont get any rarities. possibly Chapter 4 off of Waking the Fallen.

Few observations on this.... First off yea you might catch shit but no biggie. I posted an Eagles setlist on here so I know how it feels. Can't say I feel about Halestorm. I had the misfortune of seeing them once before and yea... Not a fan. She might have a good voice but thats where it ends for them. Not sure if anyone has commented but Stone Sour not doing "Get Inside" is just unreal to me, instead they are playing multiple songs off an album not yet released.

But on a positive note atleast you didn't title the thread as something like: "uproartour,8-22-10,buffalo" or instead havingasentencethatisallonewordw/oanykindofspacesatall. Still a good start.

Well said. Not playing Get Inside is blasphemy...

People get made fun of more for their inability to construct sentences, writing in one long paragraph, and being unable to format correctly than for the bands they listen to. So yeah, good first post.

Avenged does seem to forget about city of evil I've only seen beast bat country and seize the day since the first time I saw them in 08.
however the last time I saw them I didn't see bat country

I know they don't have a lot of time, but they should have played bat country, or scream, which is lacking from that too

on waking the fallen, I have seen second heartbeat, eternal rest, and chapter IV, besides unholy confessions, so I'd say they don't ignore that one quite as much as city of evil

To the OP, I don't know if you've been lurking this long, but the following album was in the top ten for favorite albums of the year for 2008 for this forum:

http://www.melophobe.com/images/081221bestalbums2008/01-fleet-foxes-album-cover.jpg

Now keep in mind, that was #8 on the Top Ten Albums of 2008 for the the site as a whole, not just one or two individuals.

So, anytime anybody gives you shit for liking something that isn't metal enough for them, just post a copy of the above picture and you're good.

Stone Sour's set is pretty lame. No Get Inside? No Inhale? They would've been the band I was most excited to see. I'm glad I didn't get tickets now.

I forgot to add as well though atleast they took out "Bother" I have been waiting to hopefully say that for years. Sadly "Through Glass" is still there but I'll take 1 out of 2.

Hmmm, I think they left out Bat Country because of what the lyrics mean, its about someone commiting suicide, and since the Rev's passing, they probably felt they wanted to drop it in favour of the newer stuff since thats in tribute to the Rev, whereas Bat Country kinda pours salt in the wound that he's gone. But thats just my theory. I don't mind anyway I've already seen them play a greatest hits set with the Rev, so I'm most looking forward to the new stuff.

Get Inside, however, I do not understand, they have three albums, an hour is enough time to play every popular song from them. I do hope this is rectified when I see them in London on Halloween.

Stone Sour isn't getting an hour on this tour. They're getting about 35 mins or so. Still it's odd they're not doing at least one song off the first album. I'm not sure why some have such a hard on for Get Inside? It's a decent song but i'd take Orchids, Tumult and Inhale over that every time.

its not about the quality of the song, its the fact that its the song that got them big, even the bad admit it got the ball rolling in a big way, and its been the set closer for so long, it'd be like Slipknot not playing Wait And Bleed, its just that is one of their biggest songs.

Slipknot didn't do Wait & Bleed or Left Behind on the first Mayhem fest in 2008. I didn't know Get Inside was that big for them. I always thought Bother was the song that sold the album. At least here in the US it was. Just like how Through Glass helped their second album sell well here.

It's just a song people like what they like guess we just have to deal with it if we think differently. That was one of the songs off the first album I wanted them to play. Get Inside is a song that can get the crowd going and it makes a good set closer. I saw them close with it in 07and it was fine.

It was a good show. Halestorm, Stone Sour and Disturbed all did well. I wouldnít know how A7X did because I didnít watch their set. I don't listen to or care for A7X that much but I would think they would do more from City Of Evil isnít that the album that got them big and made them well known to everyone.

Great point. I always assumed it was a tribute to the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas but lyrically I see what you mean now. The movie was about taking drugs to an obsessive level so I'm sure that has something to do with them not playing it.

I hope time heals those wounds and they go back to playing it at some point. I'm not a huge fan by any means but I really dig that song, especially live.

As far as Get Inside it's probably the Stone Sour song most like Slipknot to me. Definitely Top 3.

Didn't know they dropped wait and bleed, well anyway the point still stands, if you watch the making of the last album they point out it got the ball rolling, its what started them moving forward, like unholy confessions by Avenged, it was the first song to get them big airplay an shiz. Bother would've really put them on a high with a radio friendly hit. However, I never quite understood why Bother ss listed as 'Corey Taylor' on the Spider-Man soundtrack, off-topic, but its always confused me!

I can honestly say i've never heard Get Inside played on the radio before. But they played the shit out of 'Bother' when the album came out. I have no clue what Unholy Confessions is from A7x as i'm not a fan of theirs at all. Even if I don't like a band I can usually understand why they're popular but with A7X it completely boggles my mind as to why they're as popular as they are. It was cool to see Mike Portnoy trying to help out the musically less fortunate during their show though:lol:

Asylum is a good opener for Disturbed's show but the impact of it being the opener was lessened by the fact that not a lot of people know the song yet. Once the album comes out that should change though.

I'm going to the show tonight in Toronto. I've seen Disturbed twice i t he last 2 years, and while I like them, i'm mainly going for Stone Sour who I haven't seen since 2007 when they opened for Evanescence.

I think the dissapointment in playing Get Inside wasn't because it's a huge hit (although they made a video for it that got some rotation on MTV, MuchMusic, etc.), but because it's a concert staple for them, albeit after only 2 major tour cycles. Or it could be because there aren't any songs from the self titled album in the set at all.

Touche my friend...Touche....

Sadly "Bother" is what sold the album here in the US and damn near everywhere else. However I do think "Get Inside" is what sold it more for the diehards that didn't care for Bother that much and maybe slightly resented that the song was so bigh. It was a great opener like they did in '02 when the album was just released and it was a great closer around '07 when their next album came out. It just seemed to work w/ 30-30/150 as opener and Get Inside as the closer. I enjoy Get Inside the most on that first album but yes there are several other quality tracks they haven't done in awhile off that new album.

Avenged Sevenfold not playing Bat Country is fucking awesome. Definitely their worst song ever. Yeah, even worse than Scream.

Pretty dead on there.

If they're going to play songs from City of Evil (in my opinion, their weakest album overall), they should be playing The Wicked End, Strength of the World or M.I.A. In any case, they're supporting a new album with a relatively short set. Sort of anyway. Their sets are always short. When headlining, they play for like an hour, which is kind of lame.

They should've played I Won't See You Tonight pt. 1 in honor of The Rev.

I just saw Uproar in Holmdel, NJ last night. Some people there were saying that it looked like M. Shadows wasn't actually singing and that it was prerecorded. I didn't notice anything that would make me believe that did anyone else? Not a fan of this band anyways but that would piss me off.
