We can probably beat the Saints and Vikings; they're not the teams they were last year (and we beat the Saints last year). Packers aren't as scary as I thought they would be in the beginning of the year, mostly because they've been decimated by injuries on defense.

Other teams (Cardinals, Lions, Jaguars): All three of these are pretty winnable, but that's what I thought about the Bears and Titans.

Division: I see us sweeping Giants, beating the Redskins at home, and splitting the Eagles. But anything can happen in division games.

and neither are the Cowboys.

IMO the whole NFL is a major wtf? this year so far. The Chiefs have came out of nowhere to do well, Colts and Saints are not themselves at all. Vikings are sucking. Redskins I would have thought would be doing better with McNabb at the helm. A few other teams have shown flashes of brilliance then other times completely suck ass. (Giants, Texans, Cardinals). We will see how the rest of the year goes.

The problem is for every game the Vikes win, GB and Chi. both have to lose. Tonight's game is a MUST win for sure. Plus, we have Randy Moss back so maybe he can make it happen.

If they had played anybody other than the Panthers last week, they'd have lost and Cutler would have been a somewhat big loss.

And when Favre throws and INT that gets returned for a TD, its actually called a Dick Six.

Aaron Rodgers: Rodgers looking likely for Week 6

The Packers have informed the Dolphins that Aaron Rodgers (concussion) will speak with the media Wednesday.
Usually when a player is expected to sit out, he won't talk to the media leading up to the game, so it's a good sign regarding Rodgers' availability for this weekend. ESPN's Adam Schefter previously reported that the Packers were optimistic about Rodgers' status.

Did they win last week against St. Louis? So they're no longer winless?

About the Chiefs/Texans game: It was pretty much a perfect football game, at least on the offensive side. I'm pretty sure there were no INT's or fumbles the entire game from both sides. Just one really shitty call at the end. Chiefs won that game, and will win their next two (Jags and Bills) at home.

On the topic of preseason predictions, mine have pretty much gone to the shit. I had the Niners,Bengals and Cowboys winning their divisions. This year has been pure chaos and impossible to predict.

I would say the Jets are the best team in the league right now. They have been playing the most consistent football all year. I would put the Steelers,Pats,Chiefs and Colts right behind them. Before yesterday, I would have said the Ravens, but their defense looked awful against Buffalo.

One time when Kitna was a Bengal filling in for an injured Carson Palmer he threw for almost 500 yards against the Browns. Don't give up hope just yet. They'll lose a lot, but they'll probably at least generate offense.

Oh yea I remember when that happened I picked up Kitna that week on the waiver wire and won my matchup in fantasy. Very true all hope is not lost when the backup comes in the game. One of the most famous stories of a replacement was in 2001 when Patriot QB Drew Bledsoe got injured and some guy named Tom Brady took over...we know how that turned out.

Yeah, but they knew all this shit when they traded for him, seeing as how he was there for 8 years ago, and they gave up a third rounder for the privilege. This is after they sent three players to Mississippi with dicks, i mean hats, in hand to beg Brett favre to play for them this year.

EDIT: looks like Childress didn't clear this with the front office first, and Moss's name isn't on the Monday waiver wire...i think it's strongly possible either childress gets fired of favre retires (again) in the next couple hours.

True, and their record will likely reflect all the bonehead decisions, but that doesn't exempt Moss from being scrutinized when he behaves like a child. The TO-Ocho combo has lasted longer without any issues* than Randy Moss lasted in Minnesota. 'Nuff said.

They were having their way with the Jets. That's all I needed to see. They are definitely that close to a consistently good offense.

It's too bad we have deficiencies beyond the defensive line on the defense, otherwise I would hope we'd throw high draft picks at linemen. Peterman and all his stupid penalties, Jeff Backus, and Dominic Raiola all need to be replaced. Part of keeping Stafford healthy will be getting a running game going, which we don't have. That's also the offensive line's fault.

No, I don't think the 49ers get him either, but I think that the worst team is either Carolina, who has invested two picks last draft in acquiring franchise QBs or the Lions who have their franchise QB. I only see him going first if the Cardinals or the Bills go first, and they win too much to do that. I think the Bills win a few more games by year's end and the Cardinals win one or two more.

Yes. Luck has displayed the poise, accuracy, decision making skills and arm strength that is all prized at the next level. Mallett has some character issues and has been inaccurate at times. People make a lot of comparisons between him and Ryan Leaf when he was exiting college. I really like Mallett, but if he isn't whipped into shape quickly, he could be a huge bust.

You can find some for less than face value, for baseball games anyways. But they charge you $5 + 10% of the ticket price per order.

Personally I think Clausen has zero potential. I think he was one of the most overrated quarterbacks in college, I don't really like his odds to be a good pro quarterback. I am still unsure on Pike, but he could be good.
People made it sound like he could step in on day one and contribute, which totally made him sound unique, which he isn't. He's smart enough and has a good arm, but he just isn't incredibly accurate all the time and tries to make plays too much. He requires development and in my opinion has a top 10 ceiling.
Hmm...StubHub has Bengals-Saints tix that I can definitely afford for Sunday. Thoughts?

I was never sold on Clausen coming out of college either. That being said, Minnesota will probably regret not taking him next year.

I think if Carolina has the number one pick, they would be crazy to pass on Luck unless they trade down. There's no one else deserving of the top pick, honestly.

We're probably getting another top 5 pick next year (sigh), and while we need better offensive linemen, if Amukamara and Peterson are both on the board, we need to take one of them. There aren't any Joe Thomas or D'Brickashaw Ferguson-caliber linemen in this draft class...at least not yet.

I say you trade down to the 15 ish take Solder and pick up a few valuable draft picks in a pretty deep class. Someone will be aching for a QB, so this is a good year to do that. DB's in general are deep as shit.

As someone who wanted mcnabb gone, then had to hear a whole offseason of how dumb eagles fans are for running mcnabb out of town - I must say I'm thoroughly enjoying this year.

C'mon, every team has their low points and their high points, yet all four teams had a low point at the same time in the same division.

Except it lasts 3 years.
I guess the Niners could end up in the playoffs, and if the Bears ended up slipping to a wild card spot, they could end up playing here...

Chefs beat the Donkeys. It wasn't pretty, but Jamaal Charles did good, and a W is a W. Hopefully we beat the Chargers at home so we can get a million Phillip Rivers reaction faces.

Tonight's game is gonna fucking rock. I wish I could have seen all of last night's (Ravens/Steelers are always my most anticipated non-Cowboys games of the year), but the Walking Dead finale was on at the same time and that took priority.

Yeah, on a 9-7 record. I mean, that's moot since they made it all the way to the SB, but it's not like they were a dominant force in the regular season.

But schooled everyone when it mattered. Teams like the Rams and the 49ers both have potential to surprise in the postseason. Not that I think either will, but to claim that an 8-8 or 7-9 team ruins the postseason like some do is just fucking nuts.

I think the Jets peaked too early...they barely beat some bad teams, and the win over the Pats in September is their only good win. Holy shit they got abused last night.

That was a beatdown but I'm not convinced the Pats will get to the Super Bowl.

About four weeks ago I said Steelers-Eagles and I'm not changing it just yet.

Based on how each team is playing right now, I'd say it'll be Pats-Falcons. If it's Steelers-Eagles, I'll just be rooting for each defense to injure the opposing quarterback.
