View Full Version : Bands You Want to See Live

I figured this could make a good topic for discussing bands' performances and such. Your lists don't have to be limited to bands you've never seen, because obviously there are always bands you will want to see again.

So here are the bands I want to see in alphabetical order:

Atheist - Of course... who wouldn't want to see them?
Augury - I've missed them multiple times.
Autopsy - Hopefully they will do a full US tour since they are 100% active again!
Dark Angel - I would have loved to see them touring in support of Darkness Descends :(
Death -
Demilich - I don't happen to have the money to travel to Finland for their last show ever.
Finntroll - One of my favorite bands.
Gojira - Another one of my favorites.
Hate - They played an incredibly short set on the Hypocrisy tour, so I want to see them again.
Hour of Penance - :rocker:
Immortal - I missed their 4 date tour this year.
Suffocation - Anyone who has seen them will tell you they are crushing live. I will see them every chance I can.

Big ones are Sodom, Iron Maiden, Anaal Nathrakh (my favorite band), Impaled Nazarene...etc.

Let's see... I've ticked a few off this year, and there are literally dozens I want to see, but the top of the list would have to be:

Rob Zombie
Bruce Dickinson
Halford
Spiritual Beggars
Iced Earth w/ Barlow
Brainstorm
Kreator (should tick them off in December)
Destruction
Dark Angel
Heathen
Scorpions (probably next year)
Stevie Salas
Circle II Circle

Not including the bands Im ticking off this year:

U2
Rolling Stones
AC/DC
The Prodigy
Morbid Angel
Stone Sour
Murderdolls
System Of A Down
Devin Townsend in some capacity, preferably SYL but I would settle for any of his projects

Thats about it, I'm ticking ALOT off this year, so the list is becoming quite small because of that.

I would really like a Pig Destroyer/Converge tour. It would carve a path of destruction the likes of which we've never seen. It's not totally out of the question, I guess. Pig Destroyer is currently signed to Relapse, and Converge has been on Relapse in the past. PD is rumored to be working on a new album, and may therefore be touring sometime in the near future, and, well, Converge tours relentlessly, so there's that. They probably do have quite a few fans in common, so it would make sense from a marketing perspective.

Zakk could shred. We're talking about one of my favourite guitar players of all time here, but even I acknowledge that he's become a one-trick player now. All of his solos, and let's be honest, most of his riffs of late, are the same time after time.

You've seen Hot Water Music? FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU

I see Metallica and Green Day in kind of the same light: Both would probably ending playing a bunch of shit I don't care about, but I need to go just to say I did at this point. Then again, Metallica's sets in the last few years have been pretty good. As for Green Day, well, let's just say I REALLY wish I'd seen them pre-American Idiot.

Yes sir I have, once at Warped Tour, once with Bad Religion and once with Less Than Jake.

I got to see them on Warped Tour back in 2000 and they were very entertaining and it was very nostalgic since I used to listen to Dookie all the time.

Metallica is definitely one I must see! :horns:

You've seen Hot Water Music? FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU

I see Metallica and Green Day in kind of the same light: Both would probably ending playing a bunch of shit I don't care about, but I need to go just to say I did at this point. Then again, Metallica's sets in the last few years have been pretty good. As for Green Day, well, let's just say I REALLY wish I'd seen them pre-American Idiot.

I actually saw Green Day on the American Idiot tour 5 years ago and they played mostly older material.

Yeah, but I meant that they play huge arenas now, whereas 10 years ago you probably could have caught them in a theater or even a club.

The Flaming Lips

Embryonic tracks do NOT translate well live.

I'm with ya but, I highly doubt they will tour the US again. :(

I don't even like them on CD tbh but if they are throwing shows like this: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2010/07/flaming_lips_fa.html I would gladly attend

If time machines are invented, I will be first in line to go back to 1990 and see Mayhem with Dead on vocals. There are many other bands I'd love to see in that time frame too, though.

That's a good idea for a thread...

These guys are probably my #1 to see right now. I heard rumors about a year ago that they were going to play a small show here, but alas, it did not happen.

Bands i've never seen:

Megadeth
Rage Against the Machine
System of a Down
Alice in Chains

Bands I want to see again

Killswitch Engage (The only time I saw them was supporting Slipknot in 2005. Howard got sick and couldn't sing, so Trevor from Unearth had to fill in, and they only played like 4 songs or something).
Metallica
Lamb of God
Deftones

There are others, but those are the ones i've only seen once.
