I kind of see it as the acoustic/Americana companion piece to Gin, even though McSorley isn't involved. There's borrowed lyrics from it and the same atmosphere prevails, it's just expressed through folk music rather than black metal. Very dark, very good.I've heard bits & pieces (Smiling Dogs, Stone on My Head), and I'd have to concur. I have high hopes that this will be very good, once I can get my hands on a copy. :fist:

If you can honestly come back here and tell me that it was a complete waste of your time, I'll shut the fuck up and never mention this subject again. But I don't think you can do it - not honestly, anyway. That's how confident I am. I mean, as a fellow Clutch fan alone - forget all the other stuff I know you like - I can't believe that you wouldn't be hooked by some of the wicked grooves on this album. I fucking love the new Death Angel. I'm not sure about Circle II Circle yet. I only got it the other day and haven't listened to the whole thing yet. I can't decide whether it's just more of the same, or there's something interesting going on. Still better than the new Therion though.

I have to say I'm more excited about things like Soulspell (which has both Zak Stevens and Jon Oliva guesting on it) than the new CIIC.

I would say it's about their seventh best but, it is by no means a bad album in fact I love it. :)

Blast Tyrant (slightly)

S/T (right with BT)

Elephant Riders (just below S/T)

Slow Hole To China (If the above three were never made this would be number one)

Pure Rock Fury (haters gonna hate only track that is a dud on this one is Frankenstein)

Robot Hive:Exodus (I liked Mick)

FBSTO (only above TSL since they play many of the tracks live)

Transnational Speedway Leauge (it's down here since very few songs on it are played live anymore)

Strange Cousins From The West (it's growing on me)

Jam Room (There are six tracks I absolutely love the rest is ok)

Beale Street is actually my fourth favorite behind Blast Tyrant, Clutch, and The Elephant Riders. I fucking love it, love every track.

I have Clutch, Strange Cousins From the West, and From Beale Street to Oblivion now. I'm going to work on getting more of them soon. I haven't been able to find Blast Tyrant anywhere, and on Amazon it's overpriced. I think there's a reissue coming out soon though.
