1) They haven't toured America in about 2 and a half years.
2) They've been off the road for a little while now
3) You'd think the two separate performances on the 70,000 tons cruise would warrant pulling out some different songs.

So, I'm really hoping for the best. Definitely wanna see Somewhere Out in Space in the set either way, but wouldn't mind seeing 2 new songs (just not Deadlands or Empathy) dumped for more "classic" 'Ray tracks. See: One With the World, Heaven Can Wait, Land of the Free, The Silence, etc.

I'm honestly really not into the new album. I mean none of it's BAD, but even the best songs (Deadlands, Rise, Time to Live) still feel like, at best, B-rate Gamma Ray songs. There is not a damn song to be found anywhere near the level of songs like Rebellion in Dreamland, Somewhere Out in Space, Armageddon, Dethrone Tyranny, Blood Religion, etc. The album frankly lacks any form of a focal point and as I said, to me comes off sounding like an album filled with what are generally the weaker songs on any given Gamma Ray disc. It's easily my least favorite of all 7 with Kai on vocals, and hell, I might even take Heading For Tomorrow over it as well.

Circle II Circle are all about 'Watching In Silence'. I can't get on with 'Burden of Truth' in the same way. Way, way too much preaching and over-convoluted attempts at story-telling (same issue as the last couple of Megadeth records) and I don't really think the songs are that special at all. Not compared to the first two discs. I'd much rather listen to the new one.

Well, it's a ballad. I think if it would've tried to get all progressive it would've gotten completely fucked up. Especially for a ballad that's basically "acoustic", a simplistic form is usually the best. I've always loved it, it just never crossed my mind to attempt to justify it.
