Alice Cooper

Its funny, I remember the chorus from when I was 7, yet its not nearly as overplayed as some other songs I listen to from bands I got into has a teenager.

It is live... man I could die happily without ever seeing him play that again...

Saxon's output since (starting with) Unleash the Beast (1997) has been superb. They are in the absolute elite tier as far as "old bands that still release great music". They'd get my vote for #1.

What Maiden33 said, but Lionheart is by far and away the best of the recent albums. There's an awful lot of recycling going on elsewhere. But if you like Saxon, Metalhead, Unleash The Best, The Inner Sanctum and Into The Labyrinth are all worth getting. Dogs of War too.

But skip the live albums. They're pretty shit.

TRAIN! FIGHT! WIN!

This is the first volume of the Blood Bros - a DJ duo creating mixtapes of the best of 80s action movie soundtracks. More than just a compilation of songs, the mix is 100% designed to follow the course of a film, starting with Training, moving on to the Fight....then finally, celebrating the triumph over the rival.

Put this mix on when you are training on the beach, hitting the bag, chopping wood, running up/down a mountain, or generally doing anything which requires involves fierce determination and focus to win. BLOOD BROS!

Well I also happen to think Dr. Stein is pretty bad. Not terrible, but not good either. Mr. Torture is actually a god damn great song with simply silly lyrics. I'm really just not a fan of "joke" metal, particularly the way Helloween does it.

I would love that to happen, but it probably won't. :(
I saw Glenn live last year. He was good, but the show was pretty lame. The venue was set up so people could sit down at tables and eat and drink and shit. How un-rock and roll is that? I guess it was fitting, though, considering he was mainly playing suff from Music for the Devine and F.U.N.K., but still. Seeing people sitting down and sipping wine while fucking "Burn" was playing was just so wrong on so many different levels.

His point is that Maiden and Nevermore are not "True Metal".

Examples of "True Metal" bands:
-Accept
-Manowar
-Primal Fear
-Jag Panzer
-Wizard
-Sacred Steel
-Anvil
-Attacker
-Grim Reaper

Basically, it's a specific subgenre of metal that is bit too much up its own ass with keeping metal tradition alive, and stylistically like a cross between NWOBHM and US Power Metal.

Dude, I didn't invent the definition, it's a legitimate subgenre of metal, like power metal, progressive metal, death metal, thrash metal, etc. Not as prominent, but very defined nonetheless. You can't just say something is whatever you want it to be.

Yes, Maiden and Nevermore are metal, no doubt. But they're not in the subgenre of "True Metal". Maiden is Classic/Traditional Metal (see: Priest, Saxon, Dio, Sabbath, etc), and Nevermore is Progressive Metal.

True Metal

Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Manowar. Metal that holds true to the intents of the Metal Gods, music that Ormagoden would enjoy. Music that takes true talent to make and time to write, not whiny-ass emo bullshit like A Day to Remember or Bullet For My Valentine. Music that makes the eardrums of the unrighteous bleed and the faces of the weak melt. It is about individuality, freedom, and sheer bone-crushing power. True Metal is music in it's greatest form, human creativity taken to its peak. True Metal is loud, strong, and beautiful. In many cases, it is characterized by an endless battle between the voice of the singer and the screams of lead guitar.
Normally typified as brash, loud, fast and glorious. Lots of references to Vikings, battle and dragons. Also known as glory metal, and is the opposite of false metal. It stands opposed by false metal, weak music more concerned with record sales than musicianship, and popular music, at the current time rap and wimpy ass pop music. The battle rages, but as always, metal will prevail. Metal defeated disco, glam, punk, and it will triumph again.
