Yeah, you have no idea how much more excited I am to be getting Anthrax. The four Joey albums are possibly my favorite four-album streak in thrash - or at least right on par with the first four from Metallica. Testament are alright, I enjoyed them at Metal Masters, but to see Anthrax with Joey is something I never thought I'd be able to do and I'm about to check it off my list. Very very excited.

I think you'll really like All Shall Fall when you get around to it. It's in the vein of the Immortal you most like, but even more rock n' roll, and none of the riffs are strictly rewrites. Maybe a lot are in the same key as stuff on ATHOW and SOND, I dunno...I just know that ASF rips.

Damned in Black and Blizzard Beasts are the only two that I'd steer clear of for now, and even those have their shining moments.

Excellent AOR/Melodic Hard Rock. As with most albums of this style, the opening cut pretty much destroys all the other tracks, but it's a good listen on the whole, this style has to be executed really well for me to dig it, and I definitely dig this.

The first two albums have pretty raw production and the band hadn't matured much yet, but a lot of the material is promising and great when played live. Everything since Tales From the Twilight World has been outstanding though. I thought A Twist in the Myth was kinda lacking compared to some of their best works, but I think the new album more than recovers, and has been steadily climbing my ranking of Blind Guardian albums. Currently sitting at #3 for 2010, which is very, very strong.

I didn't think it was anything special either. They put on a good show at Summer Slaughter but their material has always kinda been meh to me.

This is a fantastic Black Metal record. Don't see these guys get mentioned a lot. They released 4 albums in the 90's. This album has Legion (ex-Marduk, Witchery) on vocals, and Jon Nodtveidt from Dissection (RIP :() did the vocals for the debut "A Journey in Darkness", and it's a tossup between the two as to which album is their best. The other two are good albums but not even close to the first two, Jim from Abruptum did the vocals on those two.
