I decided that I'd provide you guys with a proper review, rofl.
So I got to Madison Square Garden at 6:25, with 5 minutes til doors opened. I have seats (flame away, would've gotten general admission if I wasn't with the people I was with ) so doors opened and surprisingly it was pretty organized. Got to my seats pretty close to the stage and waited for Dream Theater to start.
Now I don't really like Dream Theater, but these guys put on a pretty good show. The guitar and bass were blown away by the drums and vocals but what can you do about it? I enjoyed their set, and they were a perfect band for Maiden to choose to open for them. I think it was their first time playing MSG becuase Mike Portnoy said at the end of their set that it took them x amount of years to get there and it was a "Dream come true".
Setlist:
01.As I Am
02.A Rite of Passage
03.Home
04.Constant Motion
05.Panic Attack
06.Pull Me Under
Now it was time for Maiden. I had a feeling it would take an hour to set up, but I was proven wrong. They hit the stage around 8:50 with the coolest lighting I've probably ever seen at a show. I loved the set, but I hated the people around me. Way too many older people who were sitting down a majority of the time. There were 4 people actually sitting down during FEAR OF THE DARK! Don't go to a concert if you're not gonna get into it, kkthnx. ESPECIALLY IRON FUCKING MAIDEN! But anyway, the highlights of the night were definitely Blood Brothers, FOTD and Hallowed Be Thy Name. They're coming back a few more times according to Bruce, I can't wait!
Setlist:
01.The Wicker Man
02.The Ghost of the Navigator
03.Wrathchild
04.El Dorado
05.Dance of Death
06.The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
07.These Colours Don't Run
08.Blood Brothers
09.Wildest Dreams
10.No More lies
11.Brave New World
12.Fear of the Dark
13.Iron Maiden
Encore:
14.Number of the Beast
15.Hallowed Be Thy Name
16.Running Free
