so far they're sticking with the 80's 90's stuff, just like they said. i wish they weren't playing all of moving pictures! i mean, they did every song from the album except "the camera eye" last time they toured, and i'm not too keen on that song replacing one or two potential much better songs.

Too bad they have to play when it's still daylight, preventing the audience from seeing the full light show.

Just got home from the show and I must say that it was awesome!! Definitely better than Snakes and Arrows tour imo. The show started around 7 45 with a video of them doing some acting skit idk it was funny but weird. Then Spirit of Radio started, continuing the same set as reported earlier. The crowd seemed to die out for awhile due to the songs that they played but it picked up once Freewill started. Marathon was AMAZING to hear live.

The second set had a little ticker with the year 1974 to start off and it slowly turned to 1980 where began another video of them acting, this time trying to film Tom Sawyer video. Then started Moving Pictures, which was played flawlessly and without stopping. The Camera Eye was brilliant. Caravan followed and it sounded better live then the in the studio imo. Neil's drum solo was after and as amazing as it always is, I thought it could have been a little better but whatever. CTTH was cool, with a different ending. 2112 was EPIC as always! Far Cry seemed a little out of place to end the main set in the midst of 4 70s songs but oh well. La Villa and WM had a different start then normal for each but they were pretty good. Alex nailed that solo in La Villa =D then the show ended and they had this hilarious video with these 2 guys getting caught backstage by Rush. lmao.

So there is my review (quite crappy compared to others but oh well), to all who are debating see this show, end your debate and go buy yourself a ticket!!

Pretty good set, although I wish they would bring back "Xanadu." I love time stand still. I wonder who does the female background vocals?

Nice setlist! Of course there are songs you want to hear that don't make it, especially with a band that has such a big catalog. For me, I wanted to hear Bravado, Show Don't Tell, Resist, Something for Nothing or Finding My Way. Can't wait for August 29th in Columbus!!!!

They didn't do all of Moving Pictures except Camera Eye on the last tour. They did TS,LL,WH and YYZ last tour. Reb Barchetta was last played in 2005 and Vital Signs in 2002. The Camera Eye hasn't been played since 1982:eek:

damn. i was hoping for new world man, superconductor, or the pass. thats 0 outta 3 for me

Superconductor will probably never get played again. New World Man and The Pass were last played in 2002.

Too bad they have to play when it's still daylight, preventing the audience from seeing the full light show.

Here's the thing though since it's still light out they don't do any big stage effects until it gets dark out. So it's really a mute point.

Pretty good set, although I wish they would bring back "Xanadu." I love time stand still. I wonder who does the female background vocals?

Xanadu was last played in 2005. So it's not like it's been away for a long time yet. The female vocals on TSS live are nothing more than the original recording that Aimee Mann did on it back in 1987. All they do is hit a pedal to active the sound affect and there you go.

I hope i'm not coming off as to arrogant of a Rush fan here. It's just people are acting like it's been forever since some of these songs they're mentioning were played. When in fact most of them have been played on recent tours.

I like the set here. I'll be seeing them for the seventh time on July 23rd and I'll be getting seven songs i've never heard before live. Rush always gives you your money's worth every time.

Pretty good set, although I wish they would bring back "Xanadu."

they may never bring this back again because in an interview (i dont have the source but i know its out there) Alex said that it hurts to play the 12 string every night to play the song. so R30 mightve been the last time.

For about five years I didnt know they used female vocals on Time Stand Still I thought it was geddy.

Really? It's always been obvious to me that's a female voice. I mean Geddy used to have a very high pitched voice but I never thought he sounded full on female ever. Let's break it down here:

Aimee Mann: "Time Stand Still"
Geddy Lee: "I'm not looking back but I want to look around me now"
Aimee Mann: "Time Stand Still"
Geddy Lee: "See more of the people and places that surround me now"

They repeat that same thing the second time they do it on the song as well:D

Anyways Amiee Mann is best know for being the vocalist on this 1985 hit

Geddy sings in the lower range for most of the song, so it was never really that hard to distinguish for me.

The review wasn't crappy at all. I thought it was quite good actually. You covered all the main things and told us about your experience and what you thought of it. Nobody can really do better than that when it comes to a concert review.

Yeah, that's just "cheesy 80s video" at it's finest right there. For as creative as Rush is musically and with their live shows they've never put much effort into there videos at all. The do have a sense of humor so maybe they were just trying to be funny with the crappy videos they've made, or they just don't like doing them. It's probably a little bit of both I think since they've never made that many videos to begin with. The videos for Distant Early Warning, The Body Electric and The Big Money aren't that much better than the one for TSS. Though TSS I think is definitely the worst of the bunch.

I love the band's sense of humor lol. The Far Cry video is a great video though.

Yeah I know I goofed up on when they last played Red Barchetta. I saw them on the S&A tour as well and they did do it. The thing is 2005 was my fifth time seeing them and the first time I got to hear Red Barchetta live so that's probably why that year stuck out to me more.

They typically only rotate songs in between legs, from what I heard...
