I would've loved to have seen him solo. Especially when he toured for The Chemincal Wedding. This set is cool to though.

I also find if funny he did FOI solo but hasn't done it with Maiden in 25 years:confused: What a glorious moment that would be if Maiden ever did that live again.

That would be awesome to see them put FOI in the setlist sometime. Guess it shows that Bruce has nothing to do with Maiden not playing it.

The reason Maiden doesn't play Flight of Icarus is that Steve doesn't really like it... and that's why they've kept their most successful US single (not to mention I've never heard a single fan say they didn't like it) out of their live set for 25 years and counting.

In other news, I should be getting to see/meet Roy Z in August. :D

Still you would think the audience reaction to it if played would lower Steve's hate of it a little. I mean wouldn't the all the crowds go ballistic if they played it?

I would think the song would get a huge reaction when the audience heard the opening riff. The reaction they'd get should be worth it even if it is one he doesn't like. I mean, it's not like they are sick of playing the song night after night for 25 years. :D

Exactly, and since this new tour is about doing fresh songs that aren't played that much live, they should take Wrathchild out of the set and put FOI in it's place. I think people who aren't into the new stuff at the shows would be OK with all the new stuff getting played if they got FOI early in the set.

It won't happen, it's a nice idea though:)

But didn't Steve also not like Aces High?

If so, I've never heard about it.

Audience reaction doesn't see to matter to much to them, IMO. With the exception of the specialty tours (Somewhere In Time), they put very few songs from yesteryear (that most every Maiden fan would love to hear) in their setlists, like FOI.

It's a shame. I'd love to go see them again, as Maiden was my 1st indoor show, 12/21/84 at the Rosemont Horizon.

Yeah, the Flight of Icarus thing is stupid and needs to be repealed. I'd love to hear it live.

cool set.

although I'd love to hear Flight of icarus live, it seems to me in listening to live after death its one of bruce's weakest vocals on the whole live album.

Now that's a great setlist!

They'll probably bring it back eventually.

I don't want to sound like an Eeyore here, but that's wishful thinking.

I think that if they were going to bring it back, the last tour would have been the perfect opportunity. I don't see it ever being played again, unfortunately.

Not really, they plan to tour for a while. It's not that big of a reach.

I saw the same set in 96 in Utrecht Holland. Bruce Dickinson played as a special guest at a Lynard Skynard concert. They started really early in the evening. A lot of people who came for Bruce missed the show.
Before tears of the dragon Bruce said it would be the first time they play the song with the musicans who recorded the song! (Sorry for my bad English!!!)
If I am correct they also played the prisoner from Maiden songs.

The Prisoner is another song that needs to be brought back...
