Considering tickets and t-shirts will be at least $20 each, it's not exactly a cash grab, I think it's totally fair.

Edit: I just realized this is the day after Alice in Chains/Mastodon. If it comes down to one or the other, it's gonna be this. Today is the first day of summer and fall concert overload.

You're welcome.

I read that. I'm just saying that's not a lot of dates for the West Coast. It's looking like a smaller tour than I had hoped.

East Coast tba says the Tony. Patience.

If he decides to reprise the Ziltoid set from Sweden Rock, this will be an unmissable show.

I need to see this.

I've been on a Devin Townsend/SYL binge lately, wondering when he'll announce a tour.

Fairly sure you'll be out of luck there. His performance of Ziltoid in Helsinki next Friday is meant to be a World exclusive.

I'll let you know how awesome it was next Saturday ;)

As long as he plays a good amount of Addicted material, I'll be satisfied.

Addicted stuff will definitely be good. There's alot of Devin Townsend Band stuff I'd like to hear. Some stuff off of Ocean Machine, Terria, and Infinity would be nice too, and of course a couple songs from Ziltoid, and a song or two off Ki.

oh, and i forgot Oh My Fucking God

I can't imagine the band going through all of the rehearsing involved for pulling off a whole album full of extreme/complex material for just one show.

Well, "world exclusive" only has one meaning, so you won't be getting a Ziltoid set. However, that doesn't mean you won't get some of the Ziltoid songs in a normal set.

And exclusives when it comes to festivals are never "for all time", they only hold for the year in question. So 2011 onwards is free game for Ziltoid shows!

I believe he's said in a few interviews lately that he has "bigger plans" for Ziltoid and such. I wouldn't be surprised to see it come up in it's entirety eventually; but I'd be quite surprised if it did for this tour. This run is apparently supposed to cover his whole solo career.

Somewhat related: I saw Dev at a grocery store the other day. Always kills me when I see him in public like that. He looks too normal.

Really? First Thursday show for me actually, everything I REALLY want to go to luckily landed on a Friday/Saturday. But its Devin, one of my favorite artists so it will take some work but I will get my way in the end =]

Ahhhh. Interesting. My venue still says "Guests TBA", but I checked the TesseracT myspace and sure enough, they're playing Vancouver. I've never heard of them before. Checking them out now!

Bummed that I'll probably miss this tour but I've seen Devy twice, so until/unless he announces a Ziltoid tour he's a low priority.

Thank you sir! :horns:

As briefly mentioned earlier, I've seen Devin Townsend in person more than a few times, and (apparently) been at shows that he also attended, but I've never seen him play live before. Really excited for it. It's also going to be the first concert my girlfriend has seen with me. She's more of an indie/classical music enthusiast, so we'll see how that turns out. "Ih-Ah!" is one of her favourite songs, though.

After listening to the songs on TesseracT's myspace, I will say that I'm not compelled to acquire any of their other material... But most likely won't mind them at all, live. Was kind of expecting another more "known" act, but this is - like you mentioned - a good sign for Devin's set!

Got VIP tix for the PA show - normally those are lame shit, but my friend has been a huge fan of Dev since the first SYL album and the acoustic preshow was too cool to pass up.

From Dev's Drummer, Ryan Van Poederooyen:

Found out a few days ago that the DTP is going to play a few shows with the mighty Periphery, on our west coast swing of our North American Headlining Tour! What a great band. If you haven't heard them, check them out NOW!

Now I'm even more pissed this tour is not coming to Minnesota.

Indeed. Original plan was to have it on Friday (which I would've been able to make) but some time last week it was switched to Thursday. Oh well. Scrape is definitely a must-see for metal enthusiasts. Cool store. Stoked for tomorrow's show!
