What dumbass put Blasphemophagher on the lowest slot(on the poster)?
Also really weird to have Ghoul on that lineup, but it looks fucking amazing.
Hopefully Morbosidad have a band and Blasphemophagher, Diocletian and Impiety don't get turned away at customs...

Bahaha, my best friend here at school is from Austin about 45 minutes away, but somehow I'm sure he won't be going to this. If I were in his shoes I'd be there in a fucking heartbeat.

Get Blasphemophagher, Ghoul (US) (and JP but they aren't metal), Morbosidad, Diocletian, Impiety, Black Witchery and Speedwolf NOW!
I actually believe Blasphemophagher to be the best band formed in the last decade, at least in the black/death subgenres.
I'm surprised you haven't heard Ghoul, they are one of the bigger thrash bands around these days.

I'm only familiar with Ghoul. This sounds like a good time.
I think I'll try to check out Friday night. Thanks for the info.

Blasphemophagher was put on the bottom because of aesthetics.

They, along with Diocletian and Black Witchery, are playing shows in LA, SF, and Denver the week before the fest.

As for Wombbath:

We are proud to announce that we will be playing at the Rites Of Darkness II fest 10th - 11th december, San Antonio Texas. This will be a brutal reunion gig and first time ever beyond swedish borders!

That's good to know. They've had CA TBA dates on myspace and last.fm for awhile, had my fingers crossed for SF. My guess is it's at Parkside, and I'm really hoping for that, 21+ would be really lame :(

Am I remember completely wrong or was Thornspawn on this lineup at one point?

There may be another date on the west coast. Checking on Denver venue. Will post back with more info

SF 12/3 Thee Parkside
LA 12/4 Black Castle via Hate War's Embrace the Hate
Denver 12/7 ?

21+
NOOOOOOO
:flame:

This honestly, more than any other show this year, was the one I was looking forward to. How often are Blasphemophagher going to tour the US? These bands rarely do, and one of the 3 dates happened to land near me, and it's fucking 21+. Gaahh. For Chaos, Obscurity and Desolation is easily the best record of 2010.

Same. I get the feeling he listened to them just so he could tell us how much he thinks they suck.

false. i'm very open minded. as time goes by sometimes i enjoy music that i couldn't stand before, or just wasn't into. so i decided to give this type of music another chance. and once again it didn't do anything for me. besides a few bands, i don't think death metal will ever do anything for me. i've tried getting into it so many times but always can't stand it in the end.

Well starting with Blasphemophagher probably isn't the best way to get into it. They're more underground and raw. I started out with more modern sounding bands like Decrepit Birth, Behemoth (later material), Psycroptic, Hate, etc. and worked my way back to the 90s/late 80s. It's an acquired taste, and at first I didn't see myself ever listening to these kind of bands, but that changed over time. So, that's what I recommend you do if you want to try to get into death metal.

Hahaha they are a fucking awful way to get into it. It's like getting into medical-gore grind by starting at General Surgery. Blasphemophagher is quite literally supposed to be a fusion of Blasphemy and Sarcofago worship, although I actually prefer them to those bands. Even with that, like treghet said they are extremely raw and I wouldn't expect the average listener, even a "metal fan" to love the sound.

i could stand some death metal. i've seen a decent amount of death metal bands and most of them were very entertaining live, but still can't get into the studio work. i thought i'd give the underground death metal scene another chance too because so many people (esp on this board) give these bands so much hype and make it seem as if the music is godly, but when i listen it does nothing at all for me. for example i know a lot of people here are in love with the Maryland Deathfest lineups, but i honestly listened to a lot of bands on the lineup with a very open mind and couldn't stand most of them. to each of their own though.

I agree, death metal is an acquired taste. Not everyone makes the leap to it from prog or nu metal, heavy or power metal. Or whatever other leaps people make.

Personally I went from prog/power/folk to melodic death and doom and then death/black.
