Playing in Philly 04Aug
After many previous tours to the continent, superheavy post-doom-rock unit BORIS will return to North America this summer in a major way, storming the continent on a tour that will last from the end of July through the month of August. Kicking off in California, the opening leg of the tour will see the band accompanied by Russian Circles as main support for the first few weeks, and by Red Sparrowes for the second leg, which also winds down in the Golden State at the end of August.

But BORIS will not let a tour die off quietly…. This full tour shall take place in advance of the previously announced appearance by SUNN O))) and BORIS amalgamating to perform as ALTAR — as heard on their 2006 Altar full-length — at the third annual All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in beautiful upstate New York, performing alongside Sleep [performing Holy Mountain], Iggy & The Stooges [performing Raw Power], Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, Raekwon, Explosions In The Sky and tons more this Labor Day weekend.

Stay tuned for a forthcoming major announcement regarding several new Boris releases!

Ever seen Russian Circles?

Nope, and I just realized it was Russian Circles we get instead of Red Sparrowes.

The only time Russian Circles has been here is supporting Baroness (I believe) at a 21+ venue.

I couldn't agree more.

But still, we should at least get some more metal shows.

If I had to pick between RC and Sparowes for you based on what I believe you'd like more, it's all about the Circles. They are heavier, and generally faster-paced (although they have some slow stuff, too). The Clutch fans at the Newport in 2008 were fucking floored by them. You are a lucky bastard.

 I was just funnin' ya, bro. I'm contractually obligated to say it, because I'm from Cleveland. Funny thing is, I was in the 'burgh last week for business. No shows to sneak off to, so yeah...I would have to agree. :D Plus, it's within driving distance of C-town, so if we don't get a show on a certain tour I'm always pulling for you guys or Detroit.

:fist: I'm excited.

I remember when they announced they were playing here and I was devestated because it was the day I was to drive to Denver for my step-sisters wedding, but I talked my dad into letting me and my sister fly out there.

Then WITTR pulled out of the tour literally less than 24 hours after it was made and I was upset again, but then they said Torche and Lair Of The Minotaur stepped in and I was really happy. I remember how the hipsters hated how people were moshing to Lair of the Minotaur.

We're getting Vanilla Ice in August...yeah, this city sucks for shows in general.

Weird routing for this tour I must say. Might just be me, but it makes more sense to end this tour in New York than California with the ATP festival.

Yes, as I am contractually obligated to make fun of your city and (shitty) football team (yes I know the Steelers have a bunch of dumbasses...we hate Roethlisberger just as much as everyone else these days...).

But Cleveland isn't a bad drive at all. The only problem with the drive is that alot of those will fall on days of the week that aren't the weekend, so the drive doesn't always sound too promising.
