Doors apparently opened at noon - I didn't get there until about 6:30, but was there in time for the entire Mastodon Tour, which was all I really cared about. Fortunately I had friends who pulled me into the front row with them despite my being so late
Valient Thorr is just as fun as everyone on here keeps saying. They're wacky and unafraid of being who they are. Frontman Valient's favorite catchphrase seems to be "You know what I'm talking about?"... this may be preceded by such statements as "Make the world a better place!" or "Let's all go deaf!" or "You'd better all be sweating like pigs!"
They played about 6-7 songs, but the only song I 100% remember was Mask of Sanity (sorry!)
Baroness was definitely my favorite act of the night. Wow. They sound amazing live. Thought I don't have the setlist, I DO have a list of songs I believe they played to get the next person started. They are mostly pulling songs from the Blue Record with two or three from the Red Album.
Blue: A Horse Called Golgotha
Jake Leg
Swollen and Halo
Ogeechee Hymnal
O'Er Hell and Hide
War, Wisdom, and Rhyme
Red: Wanderlust
Isak
BTBAM were cool, but I would've been happier if they just played Alaska ;). Mordecai was a nice touch, though.
Obfuscation
Disease, Injury, Madness
Prequel to the Sequel
Backwards Marathon
Fossil Genera - A Feed from Cloud Mountain
Mordecai
Mastodon got through their Crack the Skye set, but was beset with technical problems? afterwards AGAIN. The good news was that Brent DIDN'T flip out. The bad news was that after his guitar shorted out mid-Capillarian Crest (maybe... or maybe not...), he left the stage... and the other 3 had to finish the song without him. 10 minutes later Mastodon came back on and then were only able to perform one more song before giving up :(. NEMHF got gipped, and I can't even tell if it was Brent's fault or due to technical problems. Both are likely stories.
I'm honestly not really sure on the setlist because while the songs were the same, they were definitely in a different order than they have been on other nights of the tour (Crack the Skye was second, for example).
