Anyone who watched the newest South Park Episode last night probably already knew something was going on. Here's the link to the full news story:

Thoughts? I doubt this could get carried away with, but who knows. Anyone have any thoughts on whether or not they did the right thing, what you would've done in their shoes, or what you think of this whole debacle in the first place?

I actually thought it made the show a lot funnier.

I actually kind of thought that too, when I thought they did it intentionally for laughs. Now that I know they actually HAD a dialogue written for the near-close of the show but they were more or less blackmailed into censoring the whole thing, I am very pissed off.

didn't they already do this with the whole Family Guy thing?

And besides, they've shown Muhammed in the Super Amazing Best Friends episode, or wahtever it's called.

The censored image doesn't bother me half as much as all the censored dialogue - but yeah, you're right, which is why I kinda just don't understand this.

Comedy Central forced them to censor it. It wasn't their choice. I'm ranting all about this on facebook...."Those" people are really fighting the stereotypes.

Didn't see the episode yet, but I'm surprised that they would censor it, but it sounds like it was done to poke fun at the threats...so I can appreciate it from that angle.

I was really hoping for another Terrance and Phillip fakeout.

I dunno, I thought this whole storyline was boring and self-congratulating anyways.

1) No one hopes for more Terrance and Phillip fake-outs than I do. "Not Without My Anus" is one of my favorite South Park episodes.

2) I see your point, but I just eat this stuff up, because I've been a big South Park fan for so long, and I love when they do stuff showing where they've come from, playing off of past jokes and such. It was like a "Greatest Hits" set of episodes with a new story.

A Statement from Matt and Trey

In the 14 years we've been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn't some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it.

This is exactly what I was thinking happened. Matt and Trey wouldn't alter something on their own. Comedy Central on the other hand are wimps.

Daily Show had a bit about South Park last night. Jon told the Revolution Muslim people and anyone threatening death for religious or political reasons to "go fuck themselves"

/b/ is flipping the fuck out over this. Yesterday was dubbed "everybody draw Mohammed Day" and like somebody said their website got hacked.

I hate to say it, but they might be our best weapon against extremist Muslims. :eyes:
