Hey guys,

I've started posting audio interviews with slideshows on metalassault.com and will move to video soon.

So far I've done three. Check 'em out if you like! I'll use this thread for further updates.

1. Eddie Trunk (Host of That Metal Show) - April 15th
Eddie talks about the just concluded season 5 filming, picking guests for shows, metal in 2010, Stump The Trunk among other things.

2. Jon Oliva (JOP, Savatage, Trans Siberian Orchestra) - April 16th
Jon talks about the new JOP album 'Festival' and the weird tunings on it, Brazilian metal opera Soulspell, his Sabbath influence, early Savatage days and touring with Zak Stevens.

3. Eyal Levi (Daath, Levi/Werstler) - April 16th
Levi talks about the Levi/Werstler album 'Avalanche of Worms', on making an instrumental album, Sean Reinert of Cynic, lack of shred masterpieces these days, last year's tour with DragonForce and about his production work.

4. Lee Dorrian (Cathedral) - March 29th
Lee talks in depth about the making of the new album 'Guessing Game', lyrical themes on it, the usage of the term 'stoner rock', the band's musical progression, use of exotic instruments and upcoming plans.

5. Glen Drover - April 18th
Glen talked about his instrumental album, touring with Testament, playing the Legacy album for them, his other band Eidolon, decision to leave Megadeth, production, guitar teaching, Chris Broderick playing his solos and the prospect of getting back on the road touring.

6. Bobby Blitz (Overkill) - April 20th

Bobby talks about what they did on their unexpected off date due to the Vegas cancellation, first ever Australian tour, latest album Ironbound, past health problems, his love for Motorhead and punk rock, new wave of thrash and Sonisphere 2010 among other things.

7. Chris Poland - April 21st

Chris talks about his upcoming in-store performance, new OHM recording, his signature playing style, post-Megadeth projects, rejoining Megadeth in 2004, Lamb of God, doing jazz and metal projects side-by-side, other Megadeth guitarists, complexity in guitar solos and upcoming projects.

8. Jimmy DeGrasso (Alice Cooper) - April 21st

Jimmy talks about the upcoming Alice Cooper/Rob Zombie tour, Hail!, new Alice Cooper recording, adjustments in drumming for different bands, reasons why he didn't stay in a single band for a long time, transition from Alice Cooper to Megadeth in 1998, touring with Chris Poland and Marty Friedman; and upcoming touring plans.

9. Alex Skolnick (Testament, Alex Skolnick Trio, Trans Siberian Orchestra)

Alex talks about problems caused by the Iceland volcano, his instructional DVD, his blog, Testament's Legacy tour, thrash stereotypes, metal songs with the best lyrics, playing in Philippines among other things.

Im glad and very proud of how far you have come along in your multimedia journalism job. I remember way back when your first interview was John Keviel. You've gotten so far in such a short time man. Great job and keep up the great work. :party:

Warren talks about the CD release show at the Key Club, new album Infestation, time away from the band, influences, glam metal in the current music scene, playing Out of Cellar in its entirety last year, story behind his nickname 'Torch' and the upcoming tour with Scorpions.

11. Andrew Jacobs (Mutiny Within) - April 24th

Topics of discussion include how Mutiny Within is fitting in with the Sonata crowd, playing as direct support, response to their debut album, involvement in God Of War EP, making a perfect album over a 10 year period, the writing process, playing as opening band on the past few tours, being on the road for the whole time, changing the set according to the headliner, influences and the upcoming tour with Dark Tranquillity.

12. Joel and Ryan O'Keeffe (Airbourne) - April 28th

Joel and Ryan talk briefly about the new album, being a rock band from Australia, getting featured in video games and movies, Joel's role in 'Sex Tips from Rock Stars' and upcoming US touring plans among a couple of other things.

13. Gary Holt (Exodus) - April 29th

Gary talks about a whole variety of things including the artwork for the new album, special shows coming up in LA and San Francisco, the song 'Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)', his hatred for reality TV, the inspiration behind Exodus's consistency over the years, being called 'Pink Floyd of thrash metal', tour with Megadeth, why bands are scared to take Exodus out as support act and the North American headlining tour this year.

14. James Paul Luna (Holy Grail) - April 11th

I on behalf of Metal Assault spoke on the phone with Holy Grail frontman James Paul Luna to talk about how they've been finding playing in front of the Amon Amarth fans on the current tour, the band's history, recording plans for a full album debut, traditional heavy metal and influences, new ideas to prevent music piracy, the response the band gets in Europe and upcoming shows.

15. Mathias "Vreth" Lillmans (Finntroll) - April 25th

Vreth talks about touring with fellow Finnish bands for what he called 'their best ever North American tour', new album Nifelvind, release plans for their first ever live DVD, experimentation with weird instruments, Finnish folk 'Humppa', having former vocalist Katla as lyricist and upcoming tours among other things.

16. Scott Hedrick (Skeletonwitch) - April 6th

Scott talked about the tour with Cannibal Corpse, the latest album Breathing The Fire, metal in Ohio back when the band started out, incorporating different genres into the band's music, playing small club shows, reaction in Europe, song writing and clarified that the band doesn't consider itself a part of thrash revival.

18. Mike Schleibaum (Darkest Hour) - April 13th

Mike talked about the label change to E1, touring with Dillinger Escape Plan, Darkest Hour being a combination of punk and metal, recording plans, previous album 'The Eternal Return' and opening a new chapter in the band's history with the new album and new label.

19. Jason Mezilis (Owl) - April 13th

Jason talks in depth about the Owl album, describing the music on it,

20. Rick Ernst (director of 'Get Thrashed') - May 3rd

Rick talked about last Saturday's Overkill gig in New York City, the concept behind 'Get Thrashed', the hardest to get interview on the movie, his do-it-yourself approach, the difference between independent movie making and making music videos, possible future plans, new thrash bands, the American city with currently the best thrash scene and picked Exodus as the thrash band that has still stayed as strong as back when they started.

21. Patrick Mameli (Pestilence) - May 6th

Patrick talked in depth about coming back to the US after 16 years, their comeback album Resurrection Macabre, finding the right people to get the band together again, progress on the upcoming album, bassist Jeroen's position in the band, how technical death metal has developed during Pestilence's absence and his other projects among other things.

22. Evan Linger (Skeletonwitch) - May 6th 2010

Evan talked about a variety of topics including the current tour, being on a huge festival like Ozzfest for the first time, being featured on the Rock Band game, the appearance aspect of playing blackened thrash metal, the most important pillars behind Skeletonwitch's music, playing songs off of Breathing The Fire, plans for the next album, upcoming tours, playing with both Cannabis and Cannibal Corpse and the show at the Roxy two months back.

23. Paul Waggoner (Between The Buried And Me) - May 7th 2010

Paul talked about playing at the Fox, touring with Mastodon, giving vocals on 'Desert Of Song', composing and performing 18-minute long songs, the band's musical style, opening for a variety of bands, reason why self-titled debut album isn't played live, 'Alaska' being the turning point for the band and its fans and upcoming tours among other things.

Rob talked about the crowd at this show, playing for the first time in more than 20 years, the reunion in 2008, other bands and projects, the current thrash scene, other bands playing at this show, playing as a local unsigned band back in the day and upcoming plans among other things.

30. Obsidian C (Keep Of Kalessin) - May 9th

Obsidian talked about the new album 'Reptilian', having a 14-minute long song on the album, experimenting with different instruments, how they are seperate from the traditional Norwegian black metal sound, dealing with the break-up period, working with drummer Frost, creating an atmosphere on stage, being on Norway's music competition and upcoming tours among other things.

They talked about the recording of the 7-inch single, how the band started, how they have to adjust their playing styles for this band, the reasons for bringing this band together and what 'experimental post-hardcore' actually means to them among other things.

Great interview dude! It's cool that Evan mentioned Battlemaster, their a local for me. Their bass player works at a music center near me and I talk to him when I go there, his name is Peter Sims, really cool guy!

Not suitable for me haha. I'm hoping maybe Skeletonwitch will come to Richmond soon if their good friends with Waste/Cannabis/Battlemaster, would love to see them sometime, easily one of my favorite bands

32. Seidemann (1349) - May 6th

Seidemann talked about playing songs off of the new album 'Demonoir', how Frost's visa problems affected the band on tour, the band's musical direction, creating a dark ambience on stage, reasons for refusing to play in the day time at festival shows, upcoming plans and the Hollywood signing session among other things.

33. Paul 'Ablaze' Zinay (Blackguard) - May 13th

Paul talked about enjoying the constant touring, what they do as a band to change things up on every tour, the new album coming up, the band's history as 'Profugus Mortis', the vocalists that have influenced him, finding the right balance between constant touring and studio time, the writing process and upcoming plans among a couple of other things.
