Fucking awesome show!!
I didn't like Lightning Swords of Death when they opened for Kreator, and that opinion hasn't changed much after seeing them again tonight.
After I was done shooting during the first three Immortal songs, I head banged for the whole fucking time. :rocker::rocker::rocker:
The set list was most probably the same. I am not a 100% certain about that. My reviewer will confirm and I'll post a link to the review when he sends it to me.

i didn't really like LSOD either. i was kind of annoyed that the vocalist kept that voice even between songs... i was like dude drop the act and use your normal voice! then again i'm not that much of a black metal fan... i just love immortal though

$62? what's with the overpricing? they did that last time they played here. Emperor also charged $50 when they played here a few years ago and that was at the Key Club which is a pretty small venue. was this show even packed? because the Avalon is a pretty big venue and i have no idea if that many people are willing to pay $50+ to see them.

By the time Immortal hit the stage it was quite packed. I don't blame them for the overpricing because they got only four (right?) shows to constitute a North American tour. They gotta make their money!

i never thought about it like that. thank god i'm not a fan of black metal bands like these so i don't have to pay this much to see them. i don't see why they don't just do a full US North American tour. i'm sure they'll fill up most venues.

I guess they can't! Otherwise why wouldn't they have done it?

eh think of it this way, it's not nearly as bad as all these talentless pop artists charging 100's. i mean i know most metal bands play in smaller venues but it didn't even cost me that much to see maiden at the verizon amphitheater 2 years ago and its still not that much to see them this year either. and i agree with andrew... only 4 shows for a n american tour? only 2 of which are even in the US?

yeah that's true but for the most part it's in an arena and ANY arena show is usually expensive. not 100's but usually like 40's or 50's. i mean when Emperor played the Key Club a few years ago they charged $50. i mean the Key Club is cool and all but isn't the nicest venue, and doesn't it hold like a few hundred? paying $50 to see a black metal band play in a small club doesn't seem worth it to me unless you like the band a lot.

I know the black metal crowd here would go absolutely apeshit for an Immortal show.

Haha. Yeah .. this show was fucking awesome. I enjoyed the fuck out of myself
May be it was also the frustration of March 31st that was coming out. Plus the show was fun for other personal reasons. :bliss:

Lack of shows is no excuse for high prices. Sodom is doing a three date tour next month and the ticket price for HOB Sunset is bout $35. Hell when Amebix came over last year, I think they did maybe 5 or 6 shows and they only charged bout $10 for their shows.

This show was so fucking great.

Yeah it was the most I've paid in recent memory for a metal show... but honestly, it was worth every penny.

The tickets price were 55$ for GA and 100$ for a VIP Meet-and-greet (30 minutes before their show), without the extra fees. That was the prices for the Montreal venue...The 100$ ticket you were talking was probably for the VIP pass. And fuck, I missed the Montreal venue!
