Scream = Not a bad album title
let Me Hear You Scream = Not a bad song title

(For Ice Cream) = Fucking retarded.

I will actually express a very small amount of interest in this album though, thanks to Gus G's involvement. Not expecting a lot though.

Sounds like Rob Zombie. Hope Gus gets to riff alot more. His solo was good.

While I was hoping for more NRFTW or Ultimate Sin type of stuff it has more energy than anything Zakk has written for him in 10 years or better.

This sucks too. He wanted to replace Zakk because his stuff was sounding too much like BLS, then get's Gus to ape a BLS riff and copy a Zakk solo?

I don't think that's the reason Zakk was let go. That was just some bull shit they feed everyone. I think Zakk's drinking and the health issues that followed were the main reason for him getting let go. Ozzy knows Zakk personally and wouldn've noticed those probelms before any of the fans would've known.

I don't think Ozzy or Sharon wanted Zakk to go, as evident by Gus G's flat out duplication of his sound. They fired Zakk for his own good. They probably didn't wanna see him continue to destroy himself with alcohol like Ozzy did.

Of course this is all just speculation on my part. But it makes more sense than letting him go because they wanted a new sound.

ravenheart
04-28-2010, 07:38 PM
In recent videos Zakk has been more coherent, funnier, and more jovial than I've ever seen him before, so there could be something to the health side. He was joking with Ozzy in an interview they were trying to get out of him at the Golden Gods about getting fired too, so they're clearly cool about it. Young, complete amateur of an interview didn't know what to do with Zakk's jokes  He said he had a sex change op and is going to hang his award from his new labia to stretch it out.

He has swapped alcoholism for a new addiction though. Twitter. Fucking hell does he love that shit.

Good thing this isn't another overproduced, generic sounding Ozzy album with some other guy who plays solos and pinch harmonics just like Zakk.

The solo is more Gus than Zakk IMO, the rest of the song is pretty standard Ozzy, but the solo has a few different tricks in it than zakks standard stuff.

Some good news and bad news, coming for Rolling Stone (aka MTV magazine):

Gus played over nearly finished tracks rather than collaborating on songwriting as Wylde did. "It's a fine line, actually, between thinking of the ghosts of past [Ozzy] guitar players and basically not caring at all," said Gus. "I just tried to be myself and have respect for Ozzy's legacy as an artist."

Ozzy told Rolling Stone he was excited to hit the road and was already thinking about potential set lists. "I've got such a fucking body of work to choose from now," he said. I'd like to do some different SABBATH songs, and some different Ozzy songs." Also under consideration are full performances of the "Blizzard" and "Diary" albums as a way to celebrate their 30th anniversary.

Yeah, that would be pretty awesome.

It also sounds like those two albums are due for a 30th anniversary edition that has the original recordings restored... Not the 2002 re-recorded versions.

"Life Won't Wait" streaming here (http://www1.rollingstone.com/hearitnow/player.php?xmlData=ozzyosbourne/oo_scream_data.xml)
A brand new OZZY OSBOURNE track, "Life Won't Wait", is available for streaming at RollingStone.com. According to a posting on the site, "The uplifting rocker starts off like previous Ozzy anthem 'Changes' before it explodes into a swirl of guitar riffs topped by Osbourne's booming and undiminished trademark siren in the powerful chorus.

I can only hope that one day some of my work will be given an incredibly negative review by Rolling Stone.

It's great. Seriously.

'Let It Die' and 'Soul Sucker' are awesome. This isn't a generic Ozzy album.

The whole thing is online on his MySpace, so here's y'all's chance to disagree: http://www.myspace.com/ozzyosbourne

So through most of it, I'm pretty surprised/impressed. It's not fantastic, but way better than I expected. IE not close to Blizzard/Diary (duh), but maybe on the order of No Rest or Down to Earth.

The solos sound like Zakk. So do the riffs. Mostly because they're basically all Zakk's and Gus just played over them.
