Seeing the recent Megadeth / Testament tour made me go back and count the number of full albums I've seen performed live. I've only seen 5 before, what about you?

My list:

Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death 10/7/06
Mastodon - Crack the Skye 5/13/09
Judas Priest - British Steel 8/22/09
Testament - The Legacy 3/19/10
Megadeth - Rust In Peace 3/19/10

Mindcrime, Mindcrime II, The Hazards of Love (Decemberists), Shrinebuilder LP out of order, basically all of Christmas Eve and Other Stories was TSO's first set both times I saw them, From the Crow's Nest Looking Out the first time I saw Men As Trees, the Marie EP the last time I saw Romance of Young Tigers before they broke up...that's all that's coming to me.

Judas Priest - British Steel (07/07/09)
Necrophagist - Epitaph (07/06/07)

Those are the only two I can think of. One song short from all of Ensiferum's From Afar album (The tour in December had every song in the setlist except "Heathen Throne"). Like Maiden33, on June 4th I'll probably be able to add Parallels.

Brutal Truth - Evolution Through Revolution (at MDF 2009)

Two in one show - Mastodon's Crack the Skye and Kylesa's Static Tensions (almost - I think they were one of two tracks short of playing the whole thing, although not in order, either).

Tool played almost all of 10,000 Days when I saw them in 2007, except "Right in Two" and a few of the filler tracks.

Struck by Lightning played almost all of their Serpents album at Scion Rock Fest a few weeks ago (again, out of order). :rocker:

...and Baroness played almost the entire Red Album and Blue Record the two different times I've seen them - maybe one or two tracks short of it each time.:rocker::party:

EDIT:

If DVD counts, I've seen Slayer do Reign in Blood and Isis do Panopticon (although out of order).
If CD counts, I have Isis Live V: Oceanic Live at ATP 7.23.06 :D

Lucky bastard...

I've seen 'Planetary Duality' by the Faceless since I wanted to see Dying Fetus again this year.

I saw Project/Object do a full side of 'You Are What You Is' by Frank Zappa (that has to count for something)

and I think that's all I've got.

This summer though I'll be seeing Acheron playing 'Rites of the Black Mass' and Incantation playing 'Diabolical Conquest'. That's all I know of so far...

Yeah, that too. Honestly I'm not nearly as excited as I should be - probably because I figure Paul O'Neill will have found a way to fuck up every possible aspect of the show. I already know there's going to be dumb bitches, cheesy narration, and a shit-ton more lights and special effects than should be in a theater show. The songs Rob Evan sings alone (aka a lot of them) will still be amazing I think, but I'm not expecting much out of the rest of the show. Jeff Scott Soto is gonna be Mephistopheles though, which is kinda cool.

By these do you mean that when they were on tour for these albums, they played nearly all of them, or did you see special shows where they played them front to back? I think the standard tour set lists for each of those two albums was about 90% of the entire album, but I think a few songs were missing from each. At any rate, I saw both those tours, and whether I got to hear 90% of the albums in question or the full 100%, I was still impressed! :rocker:

Slayer - Seasons In The Abyss
Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Brutal Truth - Evolution Through Revolution
Social Distortion - Mommy's Little Monster
Kylesa - Static Tensions
Sleep - Holy Mountain
Primus - Sailing The Seas Of Cheese

I feel like I've seen more than this. At The Gates did every song off of Slaughter Of The Soul the two times I saw them, but not in order and the first time I saw D.R.I. they did all of Dirty Rotten, but split up. They played all of side one, then played a bunch of other songs, then did all of side two. Also, anyone who says they saw Brutal Truth do all of Evolution at MDF has got it wrong. The whole album was on the setlist but they started getting short on time and skipped a bunch of songs toward the end so they could get to the old songs. They did, however, play the whole album on the tour they did before that.

It is, but due to the complexity of Mastodon's sound, I have to admit that they can end up being hit and miss live purely based on the sound quality. If the sound sucks, they're really unenjoyable. I've seen them three times, and twice was shit. Once was amazing. So I can totally get someone seeing them one time and not being impressed.

Pretty much, the sound was really bad when I saw them. The bass was way too high and the vocals were way too low.

These are some excellent albums to have witnessed.

Seeing Wu Tang Perform 36 Chambers in its entirety felt really fresh and unique. I have seen Wu Tang Clan 4 times in concert but all the other times they did the same predictable set with all the "hits" including some not so great hits(Gravelpit always comes to mind). Not only that but when ever Wu Tang performed songs off 36 chamber NOT every member would contribute to spit their part(Or for any song that is!). Just maybe a verse here or there and then on to the next song(there is too many members so I guess with all the time constraints at the shows, every member needs their time to shine...THUS...being forced to cut too many songs short. I sware some songs they would only play the first minute and go to the next song)

What was different about this show is They played The entire album from start to finish with EVERY MEMBER contributing and spitting their versus just like how the album was done. No bullshit cuts or songs being cut short.. It was amazing. Every time I see Wu Tang in concert, when ever they play "36 Chamber" tracks, Ghost face would never contribute or play his parts(same with other members)...BUT for this show It was totally different. EVERY single member spit their part as hard as the album version(the only negative accept to this was that ODB was missing so his son did all his parts for him). Ghost face sounded just as gritty and grimey as he did back in 1993 on that album. Especially when he played his parts on "Da Mystery of Chess Boxin" and "Tearz".

Also the highlight of that night was when they played "7th Chamber" and Inspectah Deck grabs the microphone and screams "GOOD MORNING VIETNAAAAM!!" just like in the album version! I really didn't think they where going to do that little part. Nothing to "wow" over but it was pretty cool and un expecting. :fist:

I find it funny how you have like two or three regular posters talking about drugs, then the rest looking down on them.. They're allowed talk about it, they're keeping it relevant to musical terms, as they were talking about a concert.. Not that it bothers me one bit either way, I just think that if you don't like what they're talking about, ignore it.. Personally, I actually enjoy some of what Sepultura says, some of its somewhat humorous, and thanks to him talking about Hip Hop so much I rediscovered the Wu Tang Clan (hadn't listened to them for like two years, near enough), and then the rest of it is irrelevant to me, so I don't comment on it, see no reason why the rest of you can't do the same.. /rant

I would like to jump in here...

I have no problem with people who do drugs of any kind. I have had friends who do drugs occasionally and some who do them a lot. I've also had some friends who drink a lot. Do I agree with those choices? No, but it's their life, not mine. My point is, Sepultura69, that I do not think people attack you because you do drugs and drink. It is much more about the way you portray yourself. Your posts come off a lot like a high school student talking about how they got completely wasted at a party over the weekend. It's like bragging about doing something stupid. What's the point in that? Simply put, your posts come off as immature. Also, when you get defensive about it and insult people, it doesn't help your cause. I'm not judging you (I don't even know you), I'm just trying to offer an explanation for why many people dislike you here.

Why do you have to respond to every post I make even when I'm not talking to you?

Because it's a public board, numbnuts. Anything posted on it is there for comment. That's the purpose of it. If you are so fixed on only talking specifically to one person and are going to get upset if someone other than that person responds, then use private messages like the rest of us.

It's all in the name, really. Private for private, otherwise it's public.

I mean, if everyone on the internet didn't respond to board postings that weren't directed specifically to them personally the web would be a pretty slow place, mostly full of people getting butthurt at their conversations getting interfered with.

I kind of expect a fairly typical setlist that covers all the albums, not sure why, they just don't play shows often enough to do something "special" because every time you can see MDB it's special. You can't really predict what they're gonna do from each record since it seems to change every year, but hopefully they'll at least cover every album.

And yeah, if they pick the right song, that even includes 34.788% ... Complete. ;)

I saw Mastodon do 'Crack the Skye', it was okay. I like the album but part of the fun seeing a band live is not knowing what to expect next.

When I saw At the Gates on their reunion tour I'm pretty sure they played all of 'Slaughter of the Soul' except the instrumental Into the Dead Sky and the outro the Flames at the End, just not in album order.

I think Fantomas did their entire debut album live on their first tour, again just not in order. Although they may have, I didn't have the album yet and I couldn't tell.
