This was my fifth time seeing Megadeth and the best of them all. Hearing all of RIP live is just an indescribable experience:drool: The band just sounded flawless with everything. I've read some reviews that Mustaine's vocals were low in the mix but tonight they sounded pretty strong. The crowd at the Town Ballroom was excellent and were pumped for this show. They drowned out Dave during most of the songs. The place was packed!! I've seen plenty of shows at this venue and i've never seen so many people there. You couldn't move at all by the time Megadeth was ready to come on. There wasn't much moshing during Megadeth from what I could tell mainly because there was just no room to do it. Which is cool because it actually meant people would be paying attention to the show instead of getting their ass kicked for no reason.

Testament did all of The Legacy and that was it. They did a great job to. People were really pumped for them. I'm guessing because they haven't come to our area that often in recent years. A lot of people were singing along to their songs as well which was cool to hear. I'm convinced with the amount that Chuck Billy air guitars with his mic stick that he fully believes that he's actually playing something:D Chuck also made a comment about how the last few shows they played were theaters with seats, and it was good to see people moving in the crowd again.

Exodus:

Bonded By Blood
The Last Act Of Defiance
Fabulous Disaster
Brain Dead
Piranha
A Lesson In Violence
The Toxic Waltz
Strike Of The Beast

They did a good job as well and it was nice to hear people singing along to their stuff to. Everyone went nuts during TTW and they even got the crowd to do a wall of death during SOTB.

An excellent nostalgia show and it was good to see so many old school fans (ages 30 and up) pack the place. There was also a decent amount of younger fans there to which gives me hope that the new generation of metalheads actually know what good metal is.

I hope Megadeth continues to play all of RIP for the rest of the year. Every fan of there's needs to have the opportunity to see this great performance of one of the greatest thrash metal albums ever:rocker:

An Exodus set containing only songs from the first three albums.

Finally they're doing it right!

It's not really a surprise they're doing that though. This whole tour was put together for nostalgia anyways. So only doing stuff off the first three albums makes sense with the tour theme.

Definitely an amazing show..... I'm still in awe after hearing all of RIP live. They sounded a lot better than the last time they played the Town Ballroom

They deffinately did. When they played there in 2007 I thought the sound was kind of muddy but it was really clear last night. The venue has really improved their sound system over the last year or so. Every show i've been to there recently has sounded great.

But since this one was Megadeth it sounded that much better:blaze: I still don't know what to say about hearing all of RIP. I don't think it's really hit me yet that it actually happened.

Wow Megadeth only 1 song off of Shitgame, and the best song off the album at that. The Exodus setlist is amazing, wish they did that when I saw them, they were still great though.

Wow.

And why should it change? People would be more pissed if it DID change every night.

And why exactly should it change at all? This isn't Metallica or Dream Theater who we expect to switch the sets every night. Megadeth is a band who doesn't change their set for a tour very much at all. A song or two my get dropped in favor of another song or two but that's it. They're only playing this set for the a month, that's it. There's no need to change anything in it if the RIP 20 tour is only going that long.

From the reviews i've read and from actually attending this show, the crowd is going fuckin nuts for this set. So why exactly would Mustaine think about changing it if the crowd is giving them such a great response at every show? Another thing is band chemistry. If you play the same songs every night the band sounds tighter and the songs sound near perfect. Switching the set every night causes more fuck ups (forgetting lyrics, playing sounds a bit off) and if we all know Mustaine, he isn't gonna have any of that. He wants his fans to hear the best performance possible and that's why not only Megadeth, but a lot of other bands stick to the same set.

It may get boring but there are positives to playing the same set for and entire tour. The way Megadeth is sounding on this tour is proof it works.

I agree completely and I'm not saying I don't want to see the show if the setlist is the same but Mustaine did say they may be bringing shit out from the first two albums. I'm not saying change it drastically I'm just saying well how bout RIP and maybe Devil's Island and then the rest of the set.

That would be cool but after seeing this set live it works very well the way they have it. They do the first three back to back without stopping to get the crowd going. Then they stop for a minute and Dave welcomes everyone and asks if "we all know why we're here" and then starts HW. After RIP is done the band leaves the stage for like two minutes, then Dave talked again to tell us about how he came up with the idea to write Headcrusher. The way they do it is actually paced out very nicely and there's no complaints at all on my part on the song order for this tour.

I noticed you have it listed as one of your upcoming shows. Once you see it you'll understand fully what I mean about it being paced out very well.

Sounds awesome and even if the set never changed I'm still crazy excited. Just hoping to get a PS or KIMB rarity too but of course I'm very content with RIP.

You're in for something really special with this show. It's really hard to describe what it's gonna be like. I wouldn't expect any rarities from the first two albums until the American Carnage tour starts up. They'll probably change the set a bit for that.

He has stated before that they will be changing setlists almost regularly on American Carnage. I really hope they keep Five Magics in the set, though; that was announced before the RIP tour ever was conceived.

They will not be rotating the set much, maybe one or two songs here and there. Dave always likes to make ridiculous claims about his setlists and then never follows through with them.

True. But at least he followed through with playing all or RIP for the whole month:D
