Oh my god, how horrible.

I'm not even going into detail about ridiculous is it that they actually think it's worthy to have a "hottest chick in metal" award. If that isn't absurdly sexist, I don't know what is.

not to be a HUGE dick or anything...but you know he's gonna win because he just died.

Gene Hoglan or Chris Adler should win though, at least that's what I think.

Uh, did you see the part of that list where Brann Dailor was on it? Because I think with no Danny Carey, Neil Peart, or Martin Lopez to get in his way, the award is his to lose.

COMEBACK OF THE YEAR
Alice in Chains (or so I've heard...)

This is stupid as hell.

I reduced your original post down to only the items which made some semblance of sense whatsoever. The rest is pure garbage.

Later, I might add in a few "write-in nominations" of my own, just for fun.

So again, to be clear, I eliminated everything which was completely ridiculous and left only the stuff that made some sort of sense on some level, maybe. None of these would be my choices to win, however. None. (OK, maybe Brann Dailor, but I know of several much better drummers than him, even)

No bass player award. William Murderface will cry himself to sleep tonight.

I can't wholeheartedly condemn this thing, because I see great potential for it. I mean, sure it looks lame now, but hear me out. People like Eddie Trunk have been bitching for years about how the Grammies and the RNRHOF and any other "respectable" music organization have been snubbing metal. Some have thought of sending these people petitions, some have thought of boycott's some have thought of murdering Jann Wenner and his entire family (Ok that's just me), but then there's the third way: start our own ceremony. The common problem with that is that it requires money. Well, Revolver certainly has enough money. I think the best thing for Revolver to do would be to scrap the televised version of their Readers Poll awards and pick up where VH1 Rock Honors left off. Better yet, start up the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Run it the same night as the RNRHOF ceremony runs. That would be the ultimate slap in the face to Jann Wenner and Rolling Stone Magazine. Actually, I'd almost go as far as to call it "the real RNRHOF" but I can dream can't I?;) If Revolver were to do this, they'd gain MASSIVE amounts of true metal credibility, and whether they realize it or not, that just might translate into one or two extra copies sold. Shit if they pulled off my idea, I'd buy 10 copies just to say thank you.

Oh trust me I know for a fact faster isn't better. I've been playin the drums for awhile and the stuff Gene did on Symbolic and Individual Thought Patterns is just incredible, it's more complicated and confusing than the stuff on Crack the Skye or Leviathan I think.

Fuck you. Despite his terrible taste in bands nowadays (Opeth being one of them ;)), Gene > Brann.

I'm not knocking Gene Hoglan, he just isn't one of my favorites.

Blood Mountain! He talked up his Phil Collins (70s Genesis drumming...not to say "In the Air Tonight" isn't awesome ;)) influence leading up to its release, and he definitely surpassed his idol. Just about every song has an extremely memorable drum part.

Oh yeah forgot about Blood Mountain lol. I've heard that one, but I wasn't ridiculously impressed with the drumming. Gene still has my back as far as I'm concerned. The stuff he did on the new FF wasn't that spectacular, but like I said the stuff Gene did with Death was awesome. And alot of the albums he played on with SYL had some crazy stuff goin on.

I will agree that Brann is an awesome drummer though, but if I had to pick one over the other is would be Gene.

Chris Adler is a great drummer too. (Don't even start :D)

You guys realize the girl from In This Moment is nasty, right?I've seen some unflattering pics, yes - but I've also seen some that I like. She's one of those chicks that can be kinda nasty but kinda hot at times, if that makes any sense. (Trust me, there is such a thing... :D) Plus, she can really bring it, despite the sound of the band she's in being something I basically can't stand.

Seriously, Cristina Scabbia is a goddess compared to just about every other girl in metal.Anyway, this is where the real truth in your post lies. Won't argue with this one bit. ;)
