Seriously, they've probably made over 35 songs with fade-outs.

I hate both fade outs and weird, abrupt endings if they're not done right. I prefer that songs have written endings, preferably not just getting to the end of the logical phrase and just crapping out, either. I like stuff that has an extra couple of measures on the end to do something special for the ending. Doing those bits is one of my favorite parts of songwriting, haha.
