That's understandable, it was when I first heard them. I first heard Arise back in 5th grade then in 7th grade I finally got to see them live on the Chaos worldwide tour with Clutch, Fear Factory, and Fudge Tunnel. Their sound changed with Chaos AD (no longer strictly thrash/death metal) but, I still enjoyed them and saw them one last time at Ozzfest on 10/04/96 in Cincy then at the end of the year Max left.

I applaud the music you have listened to today sir.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

This album is sooooo much better than so-called "classic" Petty. I mean, I don't change the station if "American Girl", "Free Falling", or "I Won't Back Down" come on, but this is seriously great stuff.

A couple of my friends like Tom Petty and weren't talking about anything except going to see him this summer, but then when they found out that he would be playing mostly new stuff (on the radio, don't know if this is true or not), they instantly changed their minds. I have only heard his 'greatest hits' stuff, and hearing those songs constantly when I'm in their cars gets old after awhile.

Still not sure about these vocals, but the music is pretty terrific. Growing on me.I got there, too. The vocals weren't my thing at first, but I have to admit they seem to fit the music really well. It's okay man, I'm seeing them in a pretty big place where I've seen Queensryche, Rob Zombie (twice), Dream Theater, Flogging Molly, and The Decemberists headline. ;)

The size of the venues Queensryche is playing and the crowds they're playing too seems to be getting smaller as time goes by. I think it has a lot to do with over-saturation. Despite most people not really giving a fuck about what the band is currently doing, they still tour the entire US like once a year, if not more. I have seen them or have had a chance (if not multiple chances) to see them every single year since I got into them in 2004.

It's kinda sad to see them playing casinos now. On the other hand, given their recent material, maybe they deserve to be playing bingo halls and the like  I saw them once when they did all of Mindcrime. It was a great show, but I don't really have a desire to see them again.

Yeah, same here. Except I saw them 4 times in span of 2 years. :eyes:

In 2004-2006 I was really, really into Queensryche, and given that I had never seen them, I took advantage of every opportunity. But honestly when not doing the Mindcrime performances, I find their live show pretty damn boring, and they just don't have enough quality material in their discography to keep interested in continually going to see them. That being said, if they ever do a tour with a Warning suite (preferably with En Force, Deliverance, Child of Fire, and Roads to Madness in it), I'd definitely make the effort to see them again. Maybe I should do that anyway since I'm now playing guitar in an estabished East Coast Queensryche Tribute Band. Spewing my massive disliking of the band's non-Mindcrime live show and 90% of their post 1993-output probably wouldn't be too well received.

For all the complaining I do about Maiden fans going to the shows only wanting to hear the hits/popular songs, I'm the same way about Queensryche. I've always been little more than a casual fan.
