Remembered another one from the London Evolution XX show. I may be paraphrasing a little:
"I got an email from Steve Wilson. He told me how much he loved my music and Opeth were the best band ever and I'm a musical genius. I told him to shutthefuckup. But we emailed, and we eventually met... and kissed... and he produced the next record"

Haha. Bobby is awful. All he says is things like "it's great to spend an evening with our friends" and assorted other entries from The Big Book of Metal Stage Cliches.
He spends more time doing his belt up than saying anything constructive.
Bruce is good. Never seen DLR and never want to. Tom... I've only seen them once, and they were so pushed for time because some RETARD gave Trivium the same stage time as Slayer, that he basically didn't say a word all show.
I see them again in June, so I'll re-assess then.

I harshly disagree here! Blitz always has THE BEST stage raps. Then again, perhaps it's because he is local for us, so he has more constructive things to say?

The problem with Impulse is that sometimes shit is out of stock and they won't tell you that right away, it'll be like 3 days after you expected your package to arrive and you find out it still hasn't shipped. It's annoying. That's my only complaint about them, but you can bypass it if you order over the phone, that way they can tell you in case something you order is out of stock.

Cool, I had heard something about that before. I can't say I'm really excited, I thought their last album was kinda pedestrian, nothing special. It's funny to even say this for a band like them, but I think they lost some of their edge - it just became complete pop music throughout just about the whole album.

Obviously between A Boy Named Goo and Dizzy Up the Girl there was a shift towards softer/poppier stuff, but I think Gutterflower was fairly heavy and a great album. The last album was just soft rock/pop the whole time, and almost every song was in the same key, which got on my nerves after a while, haha.

Haha neat. Due to me being young I didn't even get into Iced Earth until right around the time Glorious Burden came out (though I got into the Barlow stuff first). It was like March 2004, they were one of the first heavier, more "underground" type bands I discovered (along with Stratovarius, Edguy, and Helloween), so for that reason they (especially the Something Wicked record) will always hold a small place in my heart. It was cool to finally see them live for the first time in 2008, but at this point my interest in them is so microscopic I don't think I'll ever see them again.

alright ya got me on that one
I don't listen to barely any female fronted bands that I can think of off the top of my head, cuz alot of the vocals aren't too great. But I'm really diggin this Thorr's Hammer band because the vocals could easily pass off as being done by a male vocalist, which I think is somewhat unique. I've never heard a girl growl so deep before.

So I do love Dreaming Dead! I forgot about them, actually saw them live in January and got their CD. :rocker:
I don't like any of the others on your list, but you got me thinking, and a few other females I dig are -
Doro Pesch
Dani Nolden (Shadowside)
Liv (Sister Sin)
Sandi Saraya (Saraya)
María del Carmen “Mamen” Castaño (Arwen)
Elisa Martin (Dark Moor) Although I confess I like them BETTER with the male vocalist they have now
Honorable mentions, Lita Ford, Ann Wilson, Pat Bentar, and Joan Jett.
So I guess I do like quite a few girls after all. But I still prefer men.
In closing what I really HATE are the opera/gothic female vocals such as Epica, Nightwish, Cloudy Yang on the new Avantasia etc though I do almost enjoy Within Temptation in small doses. I can't stand when women in bands are appreciated soley on novelty, as opposed to talent, which happens a hell of a lot. But if you are truly METAL you will gain my respect. Although I still may not like you much. ;)

Maria Bovio, Julie Kiss, Britte Gortz, Marion Raven, Julie Westlake, Farida Lemouchi, Alia O’Brien, Veronica Freeman...
There are plenty of talented women around. And not just singers either. But the ones I like are more often than not in bands who aren't part of that "female fronted metal" movement. Or Femme Metal, as it's irritatingly referred to. Precisely that kind of frilly frocks, operatic gothic thing. Although I've enjoyed the likes of Epica and Leaves' Eyes when I've seen them live, I don't listen to any of that stuff as a matter of course. It's all too similar. Not my thing at all, but I know a few people who love it and could easily tell you the differences between styles and bands as I could with, say doom metal, which they're not so into.
But yeah, the female vocalists I tend to actually like don't tend to be in bands of that style. Usually hard rock, traditional metal or doom bands.

If not metal, what are they?Electronica, but with a ton of attitude. Think Aphex Twin, but with 'roid rage. Not quite Atari Teenage Riot. There's an almost punk edge to it. They're awesome live. Yeah. The intro track to disc one is 2.5 minutes and pretty pointless. The title track is 3 minutes of instrumental. And the intro track to disc two as well.
All OK for about 30 seconds, then they just repeat.
There's only one actual song I'd drop, which is 'Cats, Incense, Candles & Wine'.

I don't hate it, but there's definitely a few songs I'm not very fond of, and I think aside from 1 or 2 tracks it's incredibly one-dimensional from a band that is capable of so much more dynamically and stylistically. Also, I'm not fond of Russell Allen's "harsh" vocals. I mean in moderation I like them (like on "Inferno" on the Odyssey"), but I think on Paradise lost they just got way too out of control.

A friend saw them in Cincinnati tonight. :snivel: Someday!
For some reason they really didn't click for me at Progressive Nation last year. But I thought they were great Friday night. You definitely should have gone to the show.
