Six shows Worldwide ONLY according to Mikael Akerfeldt. Very limited and very special, he says.

Dates and ticket details to be announced soon.

If I had to guess I'd say they'll play Stockholm, Sydney, London, New York, somewhere in Germany, somewhere in Holland.

Is it disgusting that even though I've seen them five times I would consider making a New York or Toronto pilgrimage depending on the setlist? :snivel:

Just read that the shows will be in Stockholm, Essen, Paris, London, New York and Los Angeles.

They will be playing 2 sets a night. The first one will be the Blackwater Park album in its entirety, and the second one will be other songs.

Sounds like an incredible show if you ask me.

I'm all over that London show :D

Although April 5th is a stupid day to play London. It's a national holiday; travel will be a nightmare.

They will be doing VIP packages for all shows including:

VIP laminate
Soundcheck access
Meet and greet with Opeth
Show-specific exclusive t-shirt
Signed tour programme
Special edition CD/DVD of 'Blackwater Park' (to be released in March)
Opeth backpack
Early entry if the venue doesn't have seat allocation

LA is one of the cities!! Can't fuckin believe it!! I'm SOOOO there! I'll see how much the VIP ticket is. Looks like a very good package they're giving, so its not just taking money for meeting the band as many would put it.

How much are they?

$27.50 + whatever ticketbastard fees there are likely to be.

Cheaper than the last Opeth show I saw. :bliss:

Thankfully, Ticketmaster had nothing to do with the pre-order tickets through Opeth's Merch site. Came to 31.50 overall, which is an absolute steal for any show at the Royal Albert Hall.

Anyone know anything about the venue in LA? Is it seated/GA? I have convinced my girlfriend that hitting both the NYC and LA shows is a good idea.

It'll be both seated and GA. Standing GA on the lower levels and seated at loge and mezzanine levels.

The Wiltern has 4 or 5 floors i think, every time one floor fills up they don't let anyone else in. so it's first come first serve. however during intermission people leave the floors for a break usually which lets other people come down to the floors. whoever gets to the first front floor will get a wristband so they can return if they decide to leave for a break or whatever. the upstairs seating chart depends. sometimes it's assigned seats which is rare, and most of the time i think it's general admission for seats.

hopefully this was helpful.

Can you see from the mezz level? Those are the only tix left apparently

Those seats suck! But this is quite a special show. I'd say go for it. It'll be a privilege just to be inside the building for this one!
