I loved the mini Mindcrime set AND working Real Word into it as well. Great show when they hit MA that summer.

Real World seems to fit right in there with Mindcrime. I wonder if it might have originally been part of the mindcrime concept but left off the album. Warning is still my favorite album from them, I'd love it they reissued it in the origial form with all the deleted parts of it put back in. According to an interview with Tate that I heard the record company made them dump huge sections of the album before they would release it.

I gotta admit, and I was not there and cannot prove it, but I saw them 2 months later in NJ (7/24), and I do not remember them playing THAT many songs....including every single song from Promised Land?!? Not sure if there was an opening band for this, but I saw them with Type-O Negative. This is at least a 2.5 hour set. While I remember them being great that tour, this was not the set I saw in NJ.

It is a long set but the only way i remembered it all was that i snuck a mini tape recorder into the show and taped the whole thing. One thing to remember is like 5 of those songs are less then a minute long. I think the whole set was just over 2 hours and they did have an opening act but I had never heard of them before.

I saw the Promised Land tour in St. Louis on 4/30/95 and they played this exact set. They played 29 songs and the show was about 2 hours and 15 minutes long. Type O Negative opened the show. Actually 9:28 AM was the intro so I guess they only "played" 28 songs.

Real World was written with Michael Kamen for the Soundtrack Last Action Hero. I always wondered why it wasn't on Empire and found out that it was recorded while the actual film soundtrack was being made with Kamen. I agree it fits the Mindcrime and Empire era perfectly.

Actually they only played half of Screaming In Digital and half of NM 156. It was kind of a medley of the two. And Real World sounded excellent live.

Actually, it would be 26 full songs because "I Remember Now" and "Waiting For 22" aren't full songs either, but still, WOW! That long of a set with an opening act!

I was going to say that about Screaming in Digital and NM156 too. I also thought Neue Regel was part of a similar medley (w/ Chemical Youth or something else). Like I said the thing I really didn't remember was them doing every song from Promised Land. If you have it on tape, I'll go with it. :horns:

Yes, and Neue Regal was only half the song as well.

WOW.

Now THAT'S a 'Ryche show I would have liked to see.

Wasn't there a minibar set up on stage during the song Promised Land?

yes, Tate sang the who song while sitting at a bar, even played the sax for a few notes. I think this was the first tour that they started making their whole show more like a play then a straight up concert
