Dio have just cancelled their UK tour because RJD has been hospitalised with an unspecified illness :(

Hope everything is all right. Honestly, I don't see him living TOO much longer. The life of a touring heavy metal singer, even if he doesn't drink and do drugs, is hard on a body, and he's 67, for chrissakes.

Singers are always susceptable to flus and things. It's probably just something like that.

I hope he's okay.

I really hope he's alright.

I definitely understand why they'd cancel this tour but has anyone else noticed the huge wave of postponements/cancellations within the past week or two?

He'll be alright.You don't cancel a tour that is a month away for a cold or the flu. This may be serious!

That Killswitch Engage cover sucked so much it ended up putting him in the hospital. ;_;

You mean it took Dio 3 years to feel the effects of KSE?

Seriously though I hope Dio will get better soon. I gotta see him live at least once.

I had a word with Tapio, the guy who runs dio.net, and he said RJD is not in hospital. He is ill, but it's not hospital-serious. He asked Dio's management about it.

Some good news, at least.

The tour wasn't a month away, it was supposed to start next week.

I feel like Dio may very well be the first metal musician to ever die of natural causes while still leading an active career. I still feel like that day will be a good decade or more from now, but still.

Sorry my mistake! That being said, he is still cancelling dates that are quite far off from now!

Indeed, the first date was November 21 in Glasgow.
