I was just thinking about some of the stuff I've gotten at concerts, and I was wondering what you guys have got too!

My prized concert possession is an autographed Celtic Frost ticket from when they opened for Type O Negative in 2007. I cry to it every night that they should get back together. You guys? Setlists, picks, etc?

Also: My best friends Dad caught 2 drumsticks from a Rolling Stones concert here in KC a few years ago. He has them framed. Always thought that was cool.

I have five picks in a little frame, Porcupine Tree, Queensryche, DragonForce, Sepultura, and Megadeth.

Sepultura and Queensryche are the special ones because they were specially intended for me because I was going so apeshit in the front row. :bliss:

As I Lay Dying x1 (Great live band, lots of energy, really got into them after I saw them)
Motion City Soundtrack x1 (Shameless pop punk :D)

Setlists:
Alice in Chains (Jerrys setlist from when they supported Metallica this year, I cued for an entire day just to see them, it was AMAZING)

I have a very short list.

I have an autographed Mastodon Poster from Mayhem 08 and I got my Mayhem 09 ticket signed by The Black Dahlia Murder and Byron Davis from God Forbid.

The only setlist/stick/pick i have is a drumstick from All Shall Perish which i caught at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival this year.

Sepultura and Queensryche are the special ones because they were specially intended for me because I was going so apeshit in the front row. :bliss:

I guess I'll note the members on these: Porcupine Tree=Steven Wilson, Queensryche=Michael Wilton, DragonForce=the touring bass player wearing guyliner, Sepultura=Andreas Kisser, Megadeth=Glen Drover (remember him?)

And I've got signed booklets from Nile and 3 Inches of Blood, too.

i dont own any of them because theyre ridiculously expensive, but the maiden jerseys are sweet as hell. when you see someone buy them at a concert you know theyre either among the most hardcore fans ...or just a very rich poser.

I don't go to concerts to get up close and personal with people in the front row, so I have very little of this kind of crap. And frankly, most of it is totally meaningless if it wasn't given to you personally, or you were specifically singled out of the crowd to throw it to. It's just random shit thrown into the audience and dumb luck placed you at the point it fell. Kudos.

I have an one of Keri Kelli's Alice Cooper picks because I was in the photo pit at the time. Erm... That's more or less it. I go to concert to watch bands. Not for stories to brag to other people.

The grand majority of everything I listed was given specifically to me. Many of the picks and drumsticks (and Mat Sinner wristband) were all handed to me by the people themselves. I don't believe in fighting to catch stuff at shows. There's no point in fighting someone if the object wasn't intended for you. I just happen to have a lot of this sort of stuff because I am right up front at the grand majority of shows I go to and tend to get really into the shows, thus I guess the band members tend to want to throw me stuff. However, many of the setlists were in fact just luck, or me asking a roadie for it after the set was over, because, hey, if they're just gonna throw it out, why not.

But the last part of your statement kinda upsets me. I obviously go to concerts to watch bands too, I'd be retarded if I was spending the kind of money I do just to try to catch things. Everything I've acquired through my years of going to concerts just happens to be stuff that I am proud to have, because of how much the music means to me, and in many cases, was given to me because the band members saw that. It's proof of SOME sort of connection, which is a huge part of why I go to shows in the first place. Interaction is half the fun of live music.

I agree with this completely. Also, as far as meaning, it really doesnt matter if you did get it by dumb luck, the important thing about it is the meaning it has to you regardless of if the band members themselves noticed you.

That said, with the exception of the Suffocation stuff and the Ghoul setlist everything I have was given to me by band members.

Oh, I should have done this when I saw Maiden on the Dance of Death tour in NYC in January 2004. My shirt has been absolutely destroyed. I've had to "retire" it. It's only coming out to wear to Maiden shows in the future.

I could list all of the crap I have, but my favorite thing is probably my Matt Pike pick, just because he rarely or never throws them out. I didn't even catch it, I just snagged one he dropped on stage. I also got the set list at that show, which has 4 of the new songs on it.

I also completely agree. The majority of the things I've caught have been specifically intended for me for the same exact reason. The guitarist/bassist/drummer look right at me, and throw it or hand it to me.

Oh, I also have a Skeletonwitch setlist from the Amon Amarth tour handed to me by Derrick Nau and I almost caught a pick thrown by Alexi Laiho at the No Fear Energy tour :(

Im gonna agree with Maiden too, its not like im paying just to get plecs and setlists, but they're a nice bonus, and it does add a little excitement to ur story rather than just saying 'I went to the show, they played good, I liked the third song the most'.. And especially if you've cued for a few hours to see the show, its nice to get a cool souvenire, I mean the setlist more than likely wont be the same twice in any given venue, and, specially with bigger bands, the plecs have cool designs on them, plus its the sentimental value, you own a plec one of ur favorite bands used, or held in their hand. Its a nice little connection.

Short list for me, but whatever.

Signed Evisceration Plague Vinyl by all of the members of Cannibal Corpse
Piece of paper signed by Troy, Brann, and Bill of Mastodon
Tootsie Roll thrown by Balsac of Gwar on Halloween

Mini poster signed by all of the members of Scale The Summit
Scar on my right eyebrow from getting kicked at the face during an Amon Amarth show.

Hopefully there'll be many more in the future.
