To replace Anthrax in "The Big 4" and get in Testament or Exodus.

:shred: My vote goes to Testament.

Nah. Anthrax are the best of those three.

My vote goes to Testament. I've never understood why Anthrax has been grouped in with bands FAR superior to them.

Testament + Overkill are equal to me in the early days, then Overkill, then Testament!

I would proably keep Anthrax there but if i had to pick a replacement it would be Testament.

+1

I wouldn't want to replace Anthrax though. Frankly, if I were basing on this on the bands I actually listen to the most, my 4 would be Anthrax, Overkill, Megadeth, and Testament.

Overkill should have been in the big 4 (or 5) right from the beginning. You don't like his voice? Fuck you. I don't like your face.

the only album where i ever though his vocals sucked was immortalis. dont see how anyone could argue that on the rest. worst critique ive heard was that he tries too hard to sound like AC/DC

I actually just watched the Wrecking Everything DVD earlier today for the first time in... probably 2 years.

Testament hands down. I prefer them to most any other thrash band bar the big four. But I tink the big four still swtands, Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax. When I saw Anthrax live, it reminded me why they're there, metal ANTHEMS.

I think Overkill deserve that title for sure, I love Exodus and Testament as much as the next guy, but the Power In Black demo came out in 1983 (Kill Em All much?)

Everyone always seems to forget how good Metallica were back in the day when they make their revised big 4 lists. My vote goes to Testament, but you made me choose between my children right there. Either deserve the spot.

Wrong.

DESTRUCTION

Given that the big four are historically American, for a reason, you're both wrong.

But in a European big four, clearly Destruction, Sodom, Kreator and hmmm... Onslaught?

This is true. For the American big four, Overkill wins the 4th slot easily, IMO.

I always thought it was the American Big 4 and the "Teutonic" Big 4, which I assumed were Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, and Tankard.

I always assumed it was the big 3 of Germany, and in fact, nobody gave a shit about Tankard.

If Anthrax were to have Joey Belladona :horns: in their ranks still, then I'd stick with the "original" Big 4, but as they haven't, my vote goes to Testament :rocker: , although if this "get together" ever happens, it wouldn't surprise me if Machine Head :metal: were to make up the 4th band ;)

Municipal Waste?

I say narrow it down to 3. It's kinda like the 'tier' thing somebody came up with a while ago, Anthrax is not on the same level as the other 3.

Edit: while we're on the subject of petitioning, how about a Kyuss tour after the Crooked Vultures are bored?
