Venue: Lupos

First, let me start off by saying that I've gone to a lot of shows, alright? And never, ever, have I been to one that was this intense, and painful as well. But here's the review:
We arrived at the venue just as Job for a Cowboy was coming on stage. I honestly do not like death metal, but overall they were okay. Not good, not bad, but I've definetly seen worse. Anyways, heres the setlist from what I can remember:
-?
-Knee Deep
-Consitutional Masturbation
-Entombment of a Machine
-Embedded
They may have played 1 more but again, I'm not a fan of this particular genre of music so I apologize for not knowing the exact details.
Next was GWAR and I didn't really know what to expect from them. I had never heard a single song from them previously so obviously I was completey unfamiliar with their sound and style. After about twenty minutes when Job for a Cowboy finished their set, a video screen came down and started playing this bizare video that apparently was made by GWAR with a ten minute countdown. The video had it's funny moments but ultimately it was really gay and tempermental to the point where everyone was saying "Get the fuck on stage already!" When they came out, they were all wearing these weird ass costumes which, inevitably enough, entertained the crowd quite well. They kept shooting this inky red/black/green water shit into the crowd which drenced everybody. It was awesome though. Their music was okay I guess but after 30 minutes everyone was like okay, you guys done yet? Their songs all sounded the same. Finally, they were done! And no, I didn't know one song, so no setlist. Sorry.
Now, I can't begin to desribe the anticipation and enthusiasm that that particular crowd was feeling. They guy on the side of me yelled "We're gonna fucking die!!" Lmao, it was great. Finally, the lights died down and all hell was unleashed....literally ;)
Setlist:
-The Passing
-In Your Words
-Set to Fail :horns:
-Walk with me in Hell:rocker:
-Now You've got Something to Die For
-Ruin
-Omerta
-Dead Seeds:horns:
-Pathetic
-Grace
-Broken Hands
-Laid to Rest:rocker::flame:
-Contractor:rocker::rocker::rocker:
-Reclamation
-Redneck:party:
-Black Label
Unfortunately, Mark Morton did not make an appearance tonight but instead the lead guitarist from God Forbid replaced him,(don't know his name). He did an awesome job though. So yeah, needless to say, I fucked my knee up, my ribs on both sides hurt, my neck hurts, and I have a big ass bruise on my leg. But you know what? I'd do it all over again! Thanks for reading my review.
Stay Metal:horns:

I'm not trying to hate on you or anything, but I have to ask for clarification...have you never heard of/seen anything about Gwar and their stage show? Your statement seems to imply that, and again, I'm not judging, but I just never have heard of anyone who didn't know about Gwar.

Sounds like a fun show though

This show was amazing. one of the most intense iv ever been apart of, the crowd never fucking stopped they only got crazier, and more intense i loved it. I thought job for a cowboy were awsome, and im not a big death metal fan either but i like a few bands. the first song was "unfurling a darkened gospel". Gwar had good sound and every thing but i dunno beyond that I thought they were kinda gay i started to fall asleep during that 20 min video. they do go all out with their stage show but it was a mess I had no clue what was going on. I almost didnt catch the michael jackson jokes. Holly shit was Lamb Of God good, even without mark morton. iv never seen a crowd have that much energy for so long, I have a black eye, a twisted ankle, a bruise on my 4arm,a chipped tooth, and it hurts to walk, and bend my neck. I also kept loosing my shoes. But I agree with nathan id do it again any day. This is my review since im too tired to right a full one, nathan pretty much covered every thing good review man.... keep it metal:rocker:

Trivium/Chimaira 11/6/09
Hatebreed/Cannibal Corpse/Unearth/Thy Will Be Done 12/19/09

Finally someone posted the set list! Thanks! My friends and I are getting there incredibly early for the rail. Leaving at around 11:30 AM. Show doesn't start until I think 6:30 PM. Three and a half hour drive.

Hopefully I'm able to breathe while on the rail this time.

EDIT: How is it possible to not know/like GWAR?

Cause they have very stupid and pointless lyrics that lack any meaning. Atleast the songs ive heard from them

ya descending woulda been cool, I was pumped that they played omerta, I called it out right before it started. They didnt play it the 1st two times I saw them. Also id like to hear more from as the palaces burn, more specifically Vigil, and 11th hour, not that im complaining i thought the set list was awsome, and Wrath is amazing :horns:

Doesn't AC/DC have a song about big balls?

Seems like a fairly standard-looking LoG set to me. I've seen them four times, and seen every song there (except maybe something off the new album, but I'm not all that interested). Saw them headline at Lupo's when touring for Sacrament and had a lot of fun, so I don't doubt that anyone that went enjoyed themselves, but I'm sort of over this band. Don't really do much for me anymore. They're fun live, but I'm comfortable having seen them four times unless they get on an absolutely stellar bill.

Also, can we get the thread title edited? Should be "Lamb of God -- Providence, RI -- September 21st, 2009". I dunno, it just bugs me.

That's a good LOG set it's cool to see them add Omerta and Reclamation back in. I know they haven't been doing those when opening for Metallica. As for Gwar i've never seen them live and am not familiar with their music. I remember hearing Scumdogs Of The Universe around the time it came out and it didn't do anything for me. But I was only like 12 or 13 at the time maybe i'll give them another try since i'm a bit older and might actually "get" what they're all about now.
