Man I remember like every other day over the summer I'd wake up, drive down to the gas station an pick up a blunt and a Arizona tall can, roll up and cruz to this spot overlooking the Bay and fire up while jamming Flower Of Disease. Holy fuck the first side of that record is beast. Hopefully they do some warmup shows down here in LA where they're from before taking off to Roadburn, I'd go see them in a heartbeat.

Melloboat was somewhere between Stockholm and Helsinki - i think it had 5 original members? Could be wrong on that

Not forgot, necessarily - just not familiar.

Candlemass missed my radar screen back in the day - no explanation why.
The Gates of Slumber I have checked out a little, and I seem to remember liking what I heard.
I've been meaning to check out Goatsnake more, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

...but that's why I like this board - it helps me expand my metal horizons even more.

Earthless are fantastic live. I saw them opening for Baroness in Detroit last November, and they brought the house down. They are a three-piece instrumental metal jam band that tends to write songs on the long side (ten to fifteen minutes, or even longer), but when they play live they medley their stuff together and basically just rock out non-stop for about 30-40 minnutes straight. Impressive as hell, and totally entertaining at the same time.

...and of course my opinion about Russian Circles is well-documented. As I said before...you lucky bastards. :bouville:

Earthless is far from a hipster outfit. Earthless is a jam band of epic proportions, stoner-based but with generally fast tempos, and heavy as fuck. Earthless crushes hipsters' skulls into dust and snorts them through a rolled-up dollar bill.
