WOW.
Can't say I saw this coming. I mean, I'm not a huge Dimmu fan or anything but I enjoy their stuff, and they were good live when I saw them a few years ago.

Sucks to hear about ICS Vortex, though. His vocals were awesome.

As long as they don't fire this guy:

I honestly don't see how they are going to be able to replace Vortex. His voice was a real big part of Dimmu.

I met Vortex in a hotel in NJ in 1999, he was so drunk he could barely stand. Pretty cool guy. They fired their old drummer (Tjoldav?) after they got off a plane once, and Nick Barker played a show with them right away, so I imagine they have someone waiting in the wings.

Maybe they'll go back to their original sound with the Operatic vocals.

Idk who in the world can match Mustis though. His playing and compostions are very good, and Vortex has such a unique voice and stage presence.

This is a sad day in Dimmu Borgir History. I mean their, honestly, best albums were with those two in them. That was their "Rust In Peace" line up (minus drummers).

Not a fan of Dimmu so Vortex being free is pretty exciting news to me. Get Arcturus back together please.

After reading this, I really have to think otherwise about Vortex and Mustis being out. That was a very sophisticated statement, and I looked at that neutrally, I had no bias into reading that (frankly, before I was sort of leaning on V/M's side). I can't belive some of the things he said. After reading that stuff I'm not surprised they weren't kicked out before. Something interesting he pointed out as well was that hal of the new album is done, and I really want to hear if it does indeed "retain the elements they are known for", because if it did, ouch to V/M. We'll see, I guess.
