Normally I would write a much longer review for a show that started at 5 o clock and ended at 11.30, but at this particular show I hated the support bands so much that I won't even get into describing them. Note to self : check out all opening bands on myspace or their website before deciding to spend time seeing their show.
Why the fuck this tour is called 'Thrash and Burn' I have no effin' idea. None of the bands are remotely close to being called 'thrash' metal bands.

After spending the longest 4 and a half hours of my life, I finally got to see DevilDriver and they kicked ass :rocker: :rocker:
REALLY disappointed with their set duration though. They played for just 50 minutes. On the positive side, the new songs sounded good live.

1. End Of The Line
2. The Mountain
3. Not All Who Wander Are Lost
4. Pray For Villians
5. I've Been Sober
6. Nothing's Wrong
7. I Could Care Less
8. Clouds Over California
9. Die (And Die Now)
10.Back With A Vengeance
11.Before The Hangman's Noose
12.Meet The Wretched

For anyone who wants to know, this is the order in which the bands played and my ratings for each of them :
1. Thy Will Be Done (missed)
2. Periphery (missed)
3. Oceano 0/10
4. For The Fallen Dreams 0/10
5. My Children My Bride 0/10
6. Veil of Maya 0/10
7. Despised Icon 0/10
8. Emmure 0/10
9. Devil Driver 9/10

Shame on you! DI rocks (but I would agree for the other bands' ratings).

Well, except for DevilDriver it was my first time seeing all these bands. To me DI sounded the same as the other bands. The same double bass drums, the same guttural vocals, the same stupid hardcore pit dancers.

Too bad you missed Thy Will Be Done, next to Devildriver they're the best band on this tour. I bet a lot of people will miss them because of all the other bands in the middle of the lineup :finger2:

Thy Will Be Done is alright i have seen them twice they are a very meh. Agree with the rating about Emmure they are complete crap especially live. I am going on the 15th of August and i am going for Devildriver,Despised Icon and Veil Of Maya.

I'll agree. Emmure has to be one of the worst bands out there and frankly I really don't think it's that close of a call.

Thy Will Be Done is my buddies band, should check them out, They shouldn't go on first, they're a lot better than the other opening bands but they are till new to the scene. Give them a chance =)

2nd best? Well I heard from people that Thy Will Be Done were good, but I missed their set. Of the ones I saw, I guess DI were 2nd best and Emmure were worst.

Hey,

I can't write too much. I showed up at about 9:30 while Emmure started to play. It only took me a fraction of a second to get out of that building. Devildriver played at 10:20-11:15ish. I would've loved to see much more of their material played. Nevertheless I had a great time.

I crowdsurfed during the song Clouds over California. I got thrown up on stage and my leg hit the edge of the monitor. It was EXCRUCIATING pain for the next 20 seconds, I could barely have crawled back to the pit. You know what makes it cool though? Dez asked me if I was alrite. Hahahaha that gave me the boost to go back and through the pain, face the pit once again!

It was an amazing show, but I couldn't believe how short the set was. I hope I get to see them headline again sometime when they have a larger time slot.

I left with a really cool t-shirt that has tour dates on it, but thank god it doesn't say thrash n burn on it, because I never want to be associated with any of the opening bands :tp:

Overall, I would say it IS worth spending your money to see such an amazing band. Their songs sound almost better live than on recording. But if you do go, make sure to show up late because all the pre bands, as andrew said, are fucking TERRIBLE.

Thanks for reading!

They played for just 50

They onl;y got 50 minutes cause there were 8 bands before them. if there were only one or two before devildriver they would of gotten longer

Well I was gonna decide between between either this show or Blink 182...with Devildriver only getting 50 minutes and playing 12 songs, guess I'll be going too Blink 182. Hopefully I can catch DD when they do their own headlining tour.

obviously, but its still a dissapointment. Devildriver deserves much better than that

Only 3 songs from Pray For Villians?
Meet the Wretched is back?
Hangman's Noose?

Goddamn, no matter how dissapointing DD's new album was, they still know how to fucking tour.

DevilDriver shirts were 20 and hoodies were 40. I don't think they were selling the CD.

I'll probably hit this show up on the 14th. I'm not interested in the other bands, but luckily the Opera House in Toronto is right down the street from Pizza Pizza and a Strip club.
