A game of sorts, maybe a list? since they are doing a tour I've been listening to them more then I usually do, which is about as much as you huge Iron Maiden fans do. Every minute of the day.

Find the songs where they do not sing the song title in the song.

Rapid fire.

Battle Hymn

I don't think that really counts, as it's an instrumental (and the intro to One Shot At Glory)

Almost all hipster-type bands like Evergreen Terrace and The Devil Wears Prada that just make clever titles that have no relevance to music or lyrics.

I think instead we should play a Maiden game in which we cite all the songs with choruses which merely repeat one line 2-8 times. Seriously, it's gonna be over 2 dozen, and only from Somewhere In Time to present, they didn't exist prior.

Dio songs repeat the title over and over and over and over again. I know alot of people don't like this, but when I'm listening to a song and the singer is just singing the chorus or the title a dozen times, I say: "fuck it. I dont care what the band is going to do to end it. This is boring."

This is part of what makes Brave New World a much weaker album than it really could have been. That album is ridiculous with this kind of thing.

It's actually IN a Brave New World. :D

Honestly, it doesn't bother me that much. I think if the melody is strong enough (which for the song in question, I feel it is), the repetitious lyric does not bother me.
What bothers me is that they will repeat it eight times instead of four, which is definitely enough. Or, in the case of a song like "The Mercenary", they balance one repetitious part ("Nowhere to run...") with a second repetitious part ("Show them no fear..."). It just seems like overkill, and the song suffers as a result.

Yeah.

I mean, I love the song, but I understand that we're blood brothers by the fourth time, no need for twenty.

I'm quite sure in "Lochness" he sings Lochness.

But yeah, the point of this is, they do not have many.
