Odd/cool that they played a Misfits cover.
But the lack of anything off 1039/Kerplunk! makes it completely uninteresting to me.

Also, that is a LONG fucking encore.

They never play anything from Warning other than Minority.

They don't, but I really want old stuff if anything. Although warning is better than the album before it and the two after it.

Last time I saw them they played 2,000 Light Years Away and Knowledge, so I was happy.

Just a note, anybody who says "I only listen to the old Green Day" is a douche.

i think there is way too much off american idiot in that encore. i can understand the title track but the others should be spread out imo

I don't "only listen to the old Green Day", but I am saying that the first 2 albums are about 200x better than anything they have released since.
And I don't love American Idiot or 21st Century Breakdown.

I'd probably say the same, but I grew up listening to them, they used to be my favorite band. I only "listen" actively to the first 2 records, but I own all of them and have listened, and at one point enjoyed all the others. And if they played a better set I would go see them.

Their music is and always will be "special" to me ;)

I'd go see them if they played all of Insomniac. Hell, they could do that and still have another hour to cover the rest of their material.

I wasn't referring to you or anybody else on here (at the time), because the only difference is that the new stuff is popular.

Not really.
The first stuff has much more of a punk feel to it, I mean they were never really hardcore punks or anything like that, but they have leaned much more to rock/alternative/whatever.

Well I suppose I might as well say I only enjoy old Green Day as well. I tried listening to anything newer and it might as well be My Chemical Romance. Between No Doubt & Green Day list I'm wondering where the rest of any mid 90s Lollapalooza? Playing in arenas is very punk rock...

I will say this has been a very trying day for metalsetlists and I hope we can make it through. :)

It's not like it hasn't happened before, I posted a Fleetwood Mac set list and it just got moved to the general section. I guess Green Day is more of a love/hate band.

That is my extact stance. I gave 21st Century Breakdown a chance recently and it was complete trash.

It's been a long time since I've listened to a cd with as much filler as 21st century breakdown. Older Green Day is maybe 60% punk and 40% alternative. This cd is 10% punk, 40% alternative and 50% pop. FAIL!

Way too much of the new album and not enough from Dookie.

Which song is the misfits cover? If you are talking about She that song is off Dookie.

Static Age

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently that was a song off the new album. Well, that's disappointing. I figured it wouldn't be a stretch since they covered Teenagers From Mars with The Network.
