Finally got the energy to write this.

First band sucked, Withered or some crap like that, pure garbage, pure feedback, absolutely no musical skill. Just noise, and their bassist had his bass so loud, I thought my colon was going to explode. No joke.

Cattle Decapitation delivered some amazing fucking music. Gave myself whiplash rockin out to them :rocker: Great band, check them out. Didn't get their set.

I didn't watch Cephalic Carnage. I had no interest in them.

Mayhem-

They started off with an epic little intro, then the curtain opened and they started the show off with Pagan Fears. Atilla is an amazing vocalist. I swear, he's half demon or something. That voice should not come out of a human.
The whole show was, well...Pure mayhem. No other way of putting it. Necrobutcher was just completely insane, he's an amazing bassist, and is one of the few who actually know proper bass distortion. Hellhammer, as we all know is an amazing drummer, but people usually only know that name from Dimmu Borgir. Well, I gotta tell you, if any hot topic kiddies want to hear some real drumming out of the almighty HellHammer, see a fucking Mayhem show. He was amazing. I cannot possibly fathom how hard it is to play his style.

I don't remember the full setlist for Mayhem, so if anyone knows, tell me!
I'm posting all that I remember, and its not in order. Some asshole snagged a setlist before I had a chance to :finger2:

Pagan Fears, You must fall, View from nihil, Anti, Deathcrush, De Mysteriis dom Sathanas, Silvester Anfang, Pure Fucking Armageddon, From the dark past, Freezing moon, Funeral Fog, Chainsaw Gutsfuck.

The show was amazing, and their stage show, for lack of a better word, is absolutely horrifying. You mix the props they have on the stage with Atilla's vocals, and well.....Its pretty fucking grim. :grim:
I highly recommend seeing them if you haven't already, they put on a great show.

I thought Marduk were supposed to finally join the tour a week ago? Are they still not?

Honestly, this is the best advice I've ever gotten. Started wearing them at ProgPower in 2007, and it's made a world of difference. Especially when it comes to enjoying certain bands. Ministry last year were single handedly the loudest band I've ever seen, and out of my group of three people I was the only one who could even enjoy the set because I was the only one smart enough to bring earplugs. Both of the guys I went with now bring them with them to every single show.

my friends are always like earplugs are for pussies :tp: but that's so stupid because they're not thinking about 20 years from now, when I'll be going to shows, and they'll be home crying about how their deaf hahaha.

Yeah man, I've been considering it, I love the raw live sound some bands deliver, but man, I can't take shitty bands anymore. I found that when I would stick my finger in my ear I could hear better, so I guess earplugs are the way to go! And fuck earplugs not being metal, It's metal if I say it's metal! :bliss:

Marduk are still nowhere to be found! Apparently, there's been some problems with getting their Visas. Someone screwed up some paperwork, and Marduk hasn't played a single show on this tour. Kind of disappointing, but Mayhem plays longer because of it. So I guess its okay :tp:

I've been wearing them to ever show since 2006. I was doing five gigs in six days and I remember being front-row for Skid Row one night, and my ears still ringing the next night at Opeth, with Cathedral up the day after so figured I had to do something about it.

What I found, if you get semi-decent ones (I use Doc's Proplugs), is they don't just block out sound (like those really basic bright yellow ones used in factories etc.). They make everything much clearer. The ones I have only cut out the damaging frequencies, as well as a large chunk of the raw volume, making everything clearer, but still allowing you to have a conversation with someone during the band. It makes shows better. Every time.

Mine cost about 15. Looks like for you guys they're even cheaper:

Get the vented ones.

How are they in terms of fitting? Do they come off? Because I wouldn't wanna spend $12.95 on a single pair and then lose them at the first show I wear them to. I have this problem at every show. I head bang a lot so the foam earplugs (yea those bright yellow ones) keep coming out of my ears and I have to scramble for them.
And I'm in the same boat as you .. I'm doing 6(may be 7) shows from June 9th to June 14th.

I've never had them fall out. Ever. As you can see from the picture, they're fairly shaped.

They do come in several sizes though. I'm a small guy, so I have the small size.

Be warned the 'Medium Small' size is not a halfway point between 'Medium' and 'Small'. They're actually smaller than 'Small'.

They're musicians earplugs, so I suggest finding a music store which stocks them. Then you'll be able to better judge which size to buy. They might even have a copy of the sizing chart. I got mine from a drum store.
