I figured mankvill would want them. This is what I've found so far, courtesy of pictures from www.returntothepit.com, and some setlists from the MDF board.

I can't believe I had to miss this. Ugh.

Bands are alphabetical by day. If any of the setlists have incomplete song titles, I apologize, I'm just writing what's in the pictures unless I'm familiar enough with the band to fill it in.

Some setlists may be incomplete/out of order.

Both Thrower aren't playing No Guts No Glory, What Dwells Within, Where Next to Conquer, Granite Wall OR K-Machine? This setlist is fail.

And where's Mayhem?

EDIT: NVM, BT played NGNG, this setlist is win.

the Bolt Thrower songs I'd want most are Celestial Sanctuary and Tank Mk1, though I wouldn't expect either

There wasn't a picture of the Mayhem setlist, so I don't have it.

There wasn't a picture of the Mayhem setlist, so I don't have it.

There's a ton of youtube videos online (Deathcrush, Pagan Fears, Ancient Skin, DMDS, Pure Fucking Armageddon, etc.) and from what I've gathered from the MDF forum, they played the full 75 minutes and included 3 post-GDOW songs.

Here is Brutal Truth's ridiculously long (and yet only forty minutes - right on schedule!) set:

First, they played their entire new album  (with the exception of the three-minute noise track "Semi-Automatic Carnation"):

Sugardaddy
Turmoil
Daydreamer
On the Hunt
Fist in Mouth
Get a Therapist, Spare the World
War is Good
Evolution Through Revolution
Powder Burn
Attack Dog
Branded
Detached
Global Good Guy
Humpty Finance
Itch
Afterworld
Lifer
Bob Dylan Wrote Propaganda Songs
Grind Fidelity

Then, they announced that they were "going to play some old shit":rocker::party: :
Birth of Ignorance
Stench of Profit
Dementia
Blind Leading the Blind
Pass Some Down
Godplayer
Turn Face
Choice of a New Generation
Walking Corpse
Collateral Damage
Dead Smart
Ill Neglect

...I know all of the above is correct, because I am holding the set list in my hot little hand. :rockdevil

I got some good pix as well - I have to go through them and I will hopefully post some later on...

I echo Mankvill's comment. Also, I saw them, and they were definitely no Bolt Thrower. They were tight, as usual, but they were nowhere near a headliner for a festival such as this. Bolt Thrower completely brought down the fucking house - it was goddamn legendary.

15. Killchain
16. Powder Burns

...and by the way, this is 100% correct. Whoever got this setlist is either a lucky bastard (because I was at the rail about sixty seconds after the set ended, and there were none to be had ), or is a big BT fan with a great memory. Either way, nicely done to whoever got this. :rocker:

I got a few videos, which I will post to YouTube if they turn out to be any good. I tried to use my camcorder for this, but a British bloke came out of the crowd and c-blocked me halfway into the first song. The videos I got, I had to get with my crappy little point-and-shoot camera (recorded directly to flash memory, shaky video and crappy audio)...but hey, at least I was able to confirm the set list and get a few momentos of one of the most awesome sets I've seen in a long, long time. :blaze:

This set list is essentially correct (I got video of the entire set, and also a photo of the set list from a fellow fan).

I only have three minor clarifications:

(1) The third track you listed is called "Naked Trees" (from the album "Prowler in the Yard").
(2) Before playing "Cheerleader Corpses", they played the track "Jennifer", which is really a sample - but it is noteworthy as a separate track because it is a separate track on the album, and also because the crowd always has such a huge reaction to it. ;)
(3) You forgot to state explicitly that Pig Destroyer FUCKING RULES. This is required each time you mention Pig Destroyer in print. I'm serious. It's a law.

Bolt Thrower also played the final night due to Pestilence having to cancel...the second setlist was:

Contact-Wait Out
World Eater
Cenotaph
Kill Chain
Powder Burn
Mercenary
Warmaster
In Battle
...For Victory
IVth Crusade
When Cannons Fade

awesome. I'd take two Bolt Thrower shows over one BT and one Pestilence, mostly because apparently Pestilence plays like one song from each old album and then some new shit. I haven't heard the new songs, but I've heard that they aren't very good.

and I agree that Atheist, while a good band, should most definitely not headline above Bolt Thrower. Bolt Thrower is the best band from the entire lineup with the exception of Ghoul.

[Re: The New Pestilence CD]

I haven't heard the new songs, but I've heard that they aren't very good.

Well I expected this to be true, but have you actually heard the new album? Personally, I think it fucking rocks.
:rocker::scared::wow::party::axe::rockdevil

Granted, it's not really like their old stuff. I totally lived and died by "Consuming Impulse" back in the day, and their other stuff was pretty OK, too. "Spheres" was an anomaly - most people weren't ready for it (I personally never got into it, but then I love Cynic - so go figure).

But this new one - if you take it in the context of a new album with a new sound, by some of the old guys but with a whole different mission in mind - is really pretty good. I expected it to be meh  at best, and I was pleasantly surprised. You should really check it out - you might be surprised.

Of course, that just my :2cents:

I heard Athiest played such a short set because they are going to be headlining a show at Jaxx in Springfield and wanted to tease people. If that's true I lost some respect for them. I was out of town but if I went it would have been to see them and Bolt Thrower along with a handful of other bands. What did they only play 35 min as a headliner?

IrritatedTrout
06-03-2009, 05:06 PM
Here's a tip to all in the thread, don't believe any of these things you hear about anything about MDF. No Atheist didn't headline, they were below both Napalm and BT. They played closer to 45 min just like every big band besides Asphyx, BT, and Mayhem (who all got longer sets).

jhdeity
06-04-2009, 07:40 AM
How is that possible if Athiest only played 5 songs? They're not 9 min long each. I don't think they've written a 5 min song let alone an opus. Am I missing something?

I didn't mean THE headliner but one of the headliners. Certainly one of the biggest names and bands I had interest in seeing. I heard they played less than 30 min and people were pissed but like you said I wasn't there. Did they play more songs than are listed?
