I'm dying a little bit right now. It's not particularly easy to move a 4x12 cabinet, amp head, guitar, PA head, two 2x12 PA speakers, a keyboard, and a shit-ton of cables up two flights of stairs by yourself.

And to think, I have a drum kit yet to move in about an hour. :(

Thanks, haha.

It will all be worth it in about an hour. Myself and my band's drummer are getting together to work on new material - the band just decided recently to reform, and my top priority is to write (or moreso finish) a few new songs. We haven't had a finished, new song in almost two years.

Well, as I mentioned earlier, myself and my band's drummer were getting together today to work on new material. We weren't starting from scratch but it was more of an issue of arranging new ideas - We now have three finished brand new songs. Well, musically anyway - lyrics are still pending. I am so excited right now, I've been waiting to get back to creating music for so long, and today was just a gold mine of ideas.

Arguing with a friend because he doesn't think Revocation is talented because "the same repeated riff over and over in a high pitch isn't a solo" and they're "shitty hardcore" because they have what can kind of be considered breakdowns.

Oh and "everything Slayer did post 1990 sucks"

Uncle_Meat1940

Some parts to their songs ARE weird, but he's trying to tell me they completely suck and have no talent, save the drummer who could use some work.

Im not the biggest fan of power/symphonic metal, and PanterA are my favorite band, so for me its a bummer. Jon Oliva's Pain are on the bill too, I have no intention of seeing either, though I mite watch jon oliva's pain if the alternative isn't worth it.

Plus, each band had members come up from the other bands for covers. We got The Antichrist, For Whom The Bell Tolls and Breaking the Law.

see this sucks for me because i pretty much discovered him on my own and just had a natural appreciation for his music (well, mostly his earlier jazzy stuff, before he started being viewed as an "arteest"). if maiden is my favorite band, tom is my favorite single musician. this really sucks because i doubt most of these hipster kids can even identify with his music, and now i run the risk of being lumped together with these idiots, not that it would change my musical opinion of him though.

Who cares then? Listening to and enjoying music doesn't make you part of a scene. The music being part of a scene shouldn't make it more or less enjoyable to listen to either.

Is it just me or is it true that the good die young? Dio wasn't a teenager or anything, but he was lost to what is currently an invisible and incurable disease with plenty of gas left in the tank. Same goes for Chuck, Cliff, Randy and Dime (and Lennon, etc.), in which that no one could see what was going to happen and the events could be viewed as actions from the beyond. A few people in my life have gone in the same way.
Regardless of their music or what anyones personal opinion is, these people have been recognized as great human beings to others in one way or another. You could say that people are just being nice and giving respect to the dead by holding back anything negative, but at one point or another, if someone wanted to say that Cliff Burton was a dick, I think they would have said it already (and we all know who it would have been).

A girl I dated briefly and talk to a lot messaged me this afternoon. She wanted to come see me and fool around and spend the night. She's really hot, too.

I told her maybe tomorrow because I just got into the Starcraft 2 Beta and just bought Red Dead Redemption.

Wow, I just read the last few pages of this post and I can't believe what some of you are saying.

Ain't no video game that's better than a night of crazy good lovin' with a hot girl...period. No fucking game. I don't care how good it is.

...and this is coming from a guy who has been married for over ten years, who has lost the "sex is everything" mentality of my high school and college years, and now has a reasonably healthy perspective on the subject. Sex isn't one of the highest priorities in life as it once was, but it sure beats video games any day.

You shoulda hit that, son. I am disappoint. :(

I just couldn't even fathom sacrificing it for video games. Probably because I'm like one the only guys in the world he doesn't even own a game console. My sole playing of games comes from occasionally playing with my friend, but even that hasn't even happened much over the past few years.

But still, even considering whatever the equivalent to that for me would be... I don't get it.

@ G&B: with all due respect, I don't think you're getting it. I think you're making a jump in logic that we aren't making.

Deciding to forego the opportunity Mankvill had in front of him, in order to play a video game RIGHT FUCKING NOW (which could have simply waited until later, after the golden opportunity was seized), is unfathomable, and totally different from saying that one would forego anything and everything for the slightest opportunity for sex. Those are two VERY different statements.

One is saying "fool around now / play games later". The other is saying "I must have sex at all costs, no matter what". Not the same thing at all. The first is healthy - the second is desperate. :D

Ha, dude, in a booty call situation the girl is just in it for sex too. It's completely casual, and so I would see no harm in having her pick up some grub on the way over (and of course I would return the favor if asked).

Well...I shouldn't justify this with a response, let alone get mad at it, but I do have a gym membership, two in fact, one in Bloomington and one back at home in Ohio, and I'm really not THAT fat. I mean, sure, I'd rather not be ten pounds overweight, but that's what Mother Nature dealt me, and when a lot of our country is morbidly obese, I'll deal. That shouldn't be what's keeping the ladies from liking me. It's probably that the things that I care about are nerdy, that I'm fairly antisocial, and that I don't like to do drugs and alcohol like an awesome college kid. Frankly any woman who would is an idiot - especially if they're giving it up to a guy and he thinks he's got the right to ask her to bring him food too.

I am like the only guy out there who thinks like this - but I hate women who are pushovers - mostly just the ones that are pushovers for asshole guys who don't even deserve their time.Dude it just wasn't that deep at all. You read way too much into shit sometimes. It's called "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours". That's it. It happens, and people don't have to be idiots or victims or masters or slaves or any of that shit. It's just sex. If you stopped taking it so fucking seriously, you might have more of it. Just sayin'.

Ha, dude, in a booty call situation the girl is just in it for sex too. It's completely casual, and so I would see no harm in having her pick up some grub on the way over (and of course I would return the favor if asked).Exactamundo.

And you know what...whatever, ladies.

This more or less - as tends to be my reaction any time you and I discuss parallels between our lives. I'm fatter than you - but still, I am pretty convinced that me "not having a gym membership" is not the reason I haven't had better luck with women. Every failed attempt at a relationship I've ever had had nothing to do with exactly point A or B, especially where point A is because "you're too fat". I'm not even sure if that's what Div meant, but I'm going to assume yes. It could've just been pointing to something else but I doubt it.

I'm just tired of talking about this, and I'm more tired of talking about it with people who don't get "it" or more specifically - me. Aside from maybe 2 or 3 people on this board, I don't know any of you well enough for you to try to give me sage advice based on how well you know me.

my point wasnt to call anyone fat, but the fact that we all here (even me) are a bit antisocial and nerdy means you probably arent the type who can approach girls and win them over with your exciting personality.

but girls do check out guys the same way we do them, and if you look good theyll be more likely to look past other flaws, and as guys its easier for us to change our appearance. girls cant change their tits but guys can change their pecs.

this of course is all based on the assumption you're trying to sleep with someone and not get into an intimate relationship.

Stop taking yourself and everything everyone says so damn seriously, and the sweet, sweet lovin' will come.

There's some sage advice, directed at no one in particular. But I'll tell you one thing - it's real. It took me a long time and a lot of frustration to learn it, but trust me - it's real. Take it or leave it - the choice is yours.

Being more in shape actually effects your attitude in a way that girls like. I suppose it's mostly a confidence thing*. I know I was definitely more confident 8 or so months ago before I got fat again :boohoo: than I am now or was before I started trying not to be fat. Not that you need a gym honestly, unless you really wanna get into it, running/biking/other cardio + a good amount of home-friendly exercises like pushups/crunches/squats and the like is usually good enough for basic needs.

*Also looking better doesn't exactly suddenly mean more girls suddenly fall into your lap. But it definitely does make it less of an uphill battle. :( by the way this is a complete assumption on my part because i've pretty much only had failures with women once i stopped being a fatty so maybe mantits were actually part of my charm

I can't tell you all the ways my life has changed for the better since I began working out routinely. Since summer 08 I've lost 35 pounds, gained a lot of muscle mass, and gained a ton of self-esteem. Running is one of the greatest things to ever enter my life.

This needed to be said. It's cute that everyone thinks one-size-fits-all philosophies work when it comes to this stuff, but it's not quite true. It's not as simple as: "Be in shape, get self confidence - then just magically attract women". I have about as much self-confidence as someone who is as fat as I am can have because I believe in my personality as much as I do - For me it's NOT a matter of being in the right place at the right time with the wrong personality or wrong level of confidence. I'm just always in the wrong place. Getting in shape isn't going to present me with the 300 missing opportunities to meet women I'm genuinely interested in. It's not going to change the fact that I am a very introverted person who can seemingly only relate to similarly introverted people. It's also not going to change that I have very little friends - most of whom are dudes - and we do stuff we like to do. That doesn't exactly present me with tons of opportunities to meet women - not to mention I can't stomach clubs/conventional social gatherings for more than about 10 minutes. It's really hard for me to break out of my shell without compromising who I am as a person, and I'm okay with that generally speaking - it just becomes kinda hard to deal with once in a while - when reality really gets to me.

THIS. girls check us guys out the way we check out them. i realized one day that girls weren't gonna check me out and say "ohhh he's cute" with my appearance. not saying i'm fat, i'm actually somewhat buff, but i used to dress a lot like a metalhead, talked about metal a lot, and my life revolved around it. i was (and still am) a metal nerd. but i nowadays if people were to look at me they wouldn't guess i was. i always wore band tees, usually tour shirts that were somewhat old and faded, beat up shoes, semi-long downish hair, etc. girls liked my personality so i had pretty attractive friends who were girls, but i doubt most of them were attracted to my appearance.

a few months ago one day, i thought to myself if i stopped dressing and acting like a metalhead, i'd get more girls. i cut my hair, stopped wearing old band tees, bought new fresh clothes, new shoes, pierced my ears, got plugs, i wear cologne on nights out now, and did things even if some people think it makes me "less of a metalhead"

i see girls check me out A LOT more than before, and after graduating and seeing some girls i haven't seen in awhile, they complimented that i got a lot cuter, even my guy friends joke around sometimes saying "you've gotten sexier" or whatever. i've also fooled around with a lot more girls since then.

what i'm trying to say is that maybe it's a nice change to stop dressing and acting like a metalhead. i'm still a metal nerd honestly, but i really don't act like it anymore in person. the average girl is definently not gonna check us guys out and think we're cute if we're dressed like how a metalhead dresses. if you have a great personality that girls are attracted to, then maybe it won't matter. but i'm just saying that most likely a girl isn't gonna look at a metalhead and the first thing that pops up to her mind is "ohhh he's cuute" unless she's a metalhead looking for a metalhead guy lol.

take that into consideration.

EDIT: also being too nice too girls can be a bad thing. nice guys usually finish last. if you want a girl you need to flirt with them at least a little, if you set a friend vibe talking to them they're gonna think you want to be just friends and you're gonna get put in the friend-zone. i have a lot of attractive girl friends, but i know i probably put myself in the friend-zone with some of them.

noones saying anybody should change who they are, but at the same time nobody is perfect and we all have things we dislike about ourselves. just thinking in the mentality of "im fine the way i am and i dont want to change" is basically just wussing out on putting effort into self improvement.

its best to sit down and make a list of all the things you dislike about yourself and then committing to change them, whatever they may be. it doesnt mean you have to change interests, but everyone has those annoying habits or traits they dont like. imagine all the things you think are cool and then turn yourself into the manifestation of that.

the reason i stressed on getting in shape above other things is because most people get so caught up in their own minds they forget they have a living body that has its own needs. naturally your body wants to be ripped and have lots of sex and do physical activities and eat nutritious foods. and i know it sounds cliche, but when your body is healthy you will just naturally feel happier and be more confident.

I mean, yeah, most girls are more than likely not attracted to metal heads, but I refuse to cut my hair, dress like someone I'm not, pretend like I'm into the same things as they are, etcetera, just for some snatch.

Oh, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with not wearing band t-shirts all the time, or even most of the time. I own lots of clothes that aren't band t-shirts, but I refuse to stop wearing them, cut my hair, and pretend to act like someone I'm not just so I can attract girls.

I just think there's a difference between what Div and xStructuralDefect were talking about. first of all i didn't sacrafice ANYTHING. when i dressed like a metalhead i never liked the way i looked. i got fed up with my metalhead mentality and found it annoying after awhile. i have more self-confidence and i like the way i look now, i'm not ashamed and didn't sacrafice anything. i love metal at heart, but i realized dressing and having a metalhead personality wasn't me really. just because i'm not a guy who always talks about metal and dresses like a metalhead doesn't make me any less of a metalhead. i have friends who are metalheads but if all my friends were metalheads i'd get annoyed fast. so don't go assuming i "sacraficed" myself.

I don't intend to insult other kinds of metal - but it probably helps that the t-shirt artwork and band names of the bands I tend to to support are acceptable in family / social situations. That being said - it's pretty much an all-black affair for me - as far as t-shirts go. I'll wear other colors when wearing other clothes, but very close to every t-shirt I own is black, but I don't think that's really weird. I just like the color, it's slimming.
If I'm going to be in a situation where a band t-shirt isn't the best option, I won't wear a t-shirt at all, I'll just go for a dress shirt. A black dress shirt with blue jeans with my hair down still allows me to keep my "look", but is more visually appealing - especially if I tie my hair back and wear my glasses.
I think people get hung up too much on hair because some people don't realize that you can do more than one thing with your hair (let it down). So many "metalheads" wind up with what look like unkempt birds-nests on their head, sporting a look like they never shower or wash their hair. I take stupendous care of my hair - actually in many social situations girls tend to really love my hair, and oddly, actually want to touch it and run their fingers through it.

first of all i didn't sacrafice ANYTHING. when i dressed like a metalhead i never liked the way i looked. i got fed up with my metalhead mentality and found it annoying after awhile. i have more self-confidence and i like the way i look now, i'm not ashamed and didn't sacrafice anything. i love metal at heart, but i realized dressing and having a metalhead personality wasn't me really. just because i'm not a guy who always talks about metal and dresses like a metalhead doesn't make me any less of a metalhead. i have friends who are metalheads but if all my friends were metalheads i'd get annoyed fast. so don't go assuming i "sacraficed" myself.

if you're proud of who you are, that's fine. but don't go saying i sacraficed myself and thinking i'm a poser or whatever.

Fair enough - but... Sacrifice. Wouldn't have bothered me so much if you hadn't used the word like four or five times in one reply.

You probably should've included in your original post that you "never liked who you originally were". The way you worded it made it sound like if metalheads (which is an incredibly broad term which can mean either someone I'm proud to be or someone I'd be ashamed to be) ever want to be found attractive - they need to give up their image and personality.

Div is suggesting correcting the things you don't like about yourself in an effort to achieve more self-esteem while still believing in who you are - not learning to erase or completely cover who you are in an attempt to change your entire image solely for the purpose of becoming more "attractive".

And for the record - if that's not what xSD was talking about, my apologies - but that's exactly what it read like.

okay maybe i mistyped it, but me and Div are actually saying the same thing. what i did by correcting myself is stopped dressing like a metalhead like i do because i never really liked the way it looked on me. i only dressed like it because i love metal and like supporting the bands, but i never thought it was a good look on me. i also didn't like my metalhead metality, which after awhile i stopped thinking like i used to.

and for the record i still wear band tees, but i won't go out in a beat up/faded band tee anymore. primarily i'll wear them if they look nice and somewhat new still. but if i'm going to a show i don't really care if the shirt looks old or not.

Fair enough - but... Sacrifice. Wouldn't have bothered me so much if you hadn't used the word like four or five times in one reply.

okay my mistake for wording it wrong then, i'm not ashamed to be a metalhead, i love listening to and talking about metal for hours, it's just that i realized it wasn't a good look on me. i wanted to cut my hair and pierce my ears for awhile but my metalhead mentality thought if i did that it'd make me a lot less of a metalhead. and my metalhead mentality kept me from liking and doing a lot of things also. so i got rid of that mentality after realizing it was stupid and started doing and liking things whether if people say it makes me a metalhead or not, such as changing my appearance which i'm very happy with. i think it's a way better look on me, and the girls think so too.

what i'm also trying to say is don't let a metalhead mentality stop you from liking and doing things. as long as you're a metalhead at heart, that's all what matters.

You're right about the artwork being more socially "acceptable". My wardrobe was very similar until recently. All I'd wear was black band shirts with blue cargo jeans. I've since bought a few pairs of cargo shorts, some camo cargo jeans, and even a pair of basketball shorts (so fucking comfy, I had no idea!)

I tie my hair back as well when it's the best option for the situation. When I first started growing my hair out I ALWAYS had it parted to where the strands were right next to my eyes. Now it actually annoys me if my hair isn't behind my ears, even if it's not pulled back into a pony tail.

I hate the bird's nest hair styles. I take care of my hair, but I think that headbanging has caused pretty much all of it to have split ends, which I absolutely hate. Girls used to do the same thing to me all, compliment my hair and want to touch it and what not (although I'd get an occasional old woman or crack head :eyes:), but I think the split ends have turned them away. I really want to trim it up, but I'd have to cut the majority of my hair in order to get rid of all the frayed ends, and that's just too hard for me. :(

a few months ago one day, i thought to myself if i stopped dressing and acting like a metalhead, i'd get more girls. i cut my hair, stopped wearing old band tees, bought new fresh clothes, new shoes, pierced my ears, got plugs, i wear cologne on nights out now, and did things even if some people think it makes me "less of a metalhead"

i see girls check me out A LOT more than before, and after graduating and seeing some girls i haven't seen in awhile, they complimented that i got a lot cuter, even my guy friends joke around sometimes saying "you've gotten sexier" or whatever. i've also fooled around with a lot more girls since then.

what i'm trying to say is that maybe it's a nice change to stop dressing and acting like a metalhead. i'm still a metal nerd honestly, but i really don't act like it anymore in person. the average girl is definently not gonna check us guys out and think we're cute if we're dressed like how a metalhead dresses. if you have a great personality that girls are attracted to, then maybe it won't matter. but i'm just saying that most likely a girl isn't gonna look at a metalhead and the first thing that pops up to her mind is "ohhh he's cuute" unless she's a metalhead looking for a metalhead guy lol.

I have no respect for anyone who follows this advice or path. I nearly feel sick reading this. And yes, I realize you are backpeddling a bit in your more recent posts, but that does not change what you did or why you did it. It also does not change what you said above. As a girl, I'm disgusted. As a metalhead, I'm offended. And guys, don't listen to this advice, you are all way better than this as you are now. Never compromise who you are just to get a chick. That's one of the lowest things a person can do in my book. If someone can not accept you for who you are, they are not worth your time. I'll never understand why so many guys are so desperate that they will give up who they are as a person and compromise so much for so litttle return.

Fair enough, but please don't discount that self-improvement is always a good thing. ALWAYS. There is nothing wrong with wanting to get in shape, stay in shape, act with more confidence than one did before, clean up bad habits like poor speaking or bad manners, whatever. I'm not the same guy I used to be when I was a teenage metalhead with a chip on his shoulder (some of you dudes really need to think hard about that one...'nuff said) and a desire to piss off everyone I could if they didn't like me for who I was. I've grown up, cleaned up, shaped up, and I'm a much better person today because of my efforts to become a better version of the me that I always was.

...and you bet your sweet ass that I still love metal and will never compromise that. Anyone who knows me knows this to be true.

Just because you want to improve yourself doesn't mean you're selling out. :fist:

I cut my hair in December, but I still wear band t-shirts, blast metal out of my headphones/car speakers when I go out. I think it was said a while ago by someone here, but I would take a cute 'normal' girl over a cute 'metal' girl any day. Yes, I would love to find a girlfriend that likes metal, comic books, etc, but if the territory comes with piercings, weird hair, excessive tattoos, and stupid clothing....then no thanks. Your clothing doesn't make you metal, your taste in music does.

I realized that the 'I dont give a shit what other people think about how I look' isn't a very good attitude to have if you want to be successful in life. Yes, everyone has some sense of individuality, but if you look so outside of the mainstream that you can't get hired and people won't take you seriously...you should either conform or give up on those dreams. You aren't going to change society, so you've got to pick one.

Quit giving this guy shit for being a realist.

I never discounted self improvement. Also, I don't see how cutting your hair, or stop wearing metal shirts is an improvement. It is compromising who you are, and that is a downgrade. As for working out, I think it's a great thing, but the problems these guys are having has nothing to do with their weight. If a girl likes who you are as a person, a few extra pounds don't matter in the slightest. I don't think any of the guys here in question have bad manners or poor speaking habits etc or think that's keeping them for living out their full potential. There is nothing wrong with being a metalhead, and certainly nothing wrong with looking like one.

Self-alienation is not a fun thing. Why would you dress/pierce/tattoo yourself in such a way that makes other people distrust you? Sure, its idealistic to be 'your own person', but good look getting anywhere in life. And i would argue that the way you dress or your hair doesn't define who your are as a person....its how you project yourself to other people. You aren't changing your own person, you're changing how other people perceive you.

The first line of your statement is probably your biggest reason why you are having problems with girls. And do you really think that all metal girls look like THAT? Not saying there is anything wrong with it at all, be an idividual, but I certainly don't look like what you described above and I'm more of a metalhead than most people I know, guys and girls.

I could not disagree with you more. There is nothing wrong with being a metalhead, or looking like one. You can do so today (it is 2010 not 1950) and still be respected and successful. Why limit yourself? You can have it all, the metal, the girl, the house, the white picket fence, the good job, if that's what you want in life.

Ya'know...if you like having long hair, and you like dressing a certain way...then yeah, changing that is compromising who you are.

Sure looks have some degree of effect when dealing with work, but it's minimal. The most important thing is that you have a skill.

I hold a high level position within a fortune 500 company, with whom I've worked with since high school. I've always looked the same, the only thing that matters is my ability to do my job effectively.

I think this actually may be the longest-running debate we've ever had that didn't get incredibly out of hand.

A few thoughts:

1) It's so nice to have no desire to work a job that would reject me based on my appearance. Again, I'm not talking about band shirts, because obviously if I were interviewing for a job I wouldn't wear one - but I meant having long hair more than anything else. My goal in life is to be a professional touring/session musician - so no worries there. Obviously it's not gonna happen overnight, but virtually any place I have any desire to work at before that would happen wouldn't require me to "clean up" (which is a bullshit phrase because I'm not "dirty") in order to be "acceptable".

2) Regarding "types" of girls: I agree that I have no interest whatsoever in weird, creepy "metal" girls with more tattoos and piercings than I would ever have and whatnot - but I think girls sporting somewhat of a "metal-light" look = the best thing in the world. I agree that there's nothing whatsoever wrong with "normal" girls, but once girls hit a certain stage of "normality"... boring. I want someone with a personality and freedom of expression - regardless of what it is. I have practically no realistic ambitions to find a great, attractive girl who is actually into what I'm into (because there are so few - period) - but I NEED to find a girl who can accept it - and frankly if I were to sell myself out and clean up my image, it wouldn't change who I am, which would lead to me attracting incompatible girls. I said this via conversation with Brad last night - I need to find a girl who is passionate about something. It doesn't need to be music, I'd almost prefer that it not be - but I need someone who has that sort of passion towards something, because that's how I am. I hate people who are passive - they are just "normal" people who have nothing more than a passive interest in anything in their lives.

I agree with a lot of what you said here, well put. But I still think metal guys are better off with metal girls, because it's more than just music, and not to sound cheesy like Manowar or anything, but it's a way of life. I have a hard time even keeping non metal friends, I just don't have enough time. I'd rather spend 5 days with the same metal friend than go out with different people and discuss abstract things that I have no interest in at all. I have friends who have hit what I believe is that age of normality that is boring, where all they care about is getting married and having kids, two things I have zero interest in. I'm not against marriage, but it's not important to me like it is to so many girls out there, and I never want kids. I love your comment about having passion, I think that is one of the most important things to look for in a person, I have no time in my life for stagnant, everyday people. But again, I disagree slightly with another statement you made, because I think similar passions are important. I think everyone needs to be with someone who enjoys what they enjoy, not just simply someone who will tolerate or accept it, because she will try to change him. It's happened to so many guys that I know, and it sucks, because you lose the person they were, and they become what she wants them to be.

I think everyone needs to be with someone who enjoys what they enjoy, not just simply someone who will tolerate or accept it, because she will try to change him. It's happened to so many guys that I know, and it sucks, because you lose the person they were, and they become what she wants them to be.

What I hate about non metal heads is there ignorance to the metal genre a genre they dont listen to and know nothing about.

I agree with a lot of what you said here, well put. But I still think metal guys are better off with metal girls, because it's more than just music, and not to sound cheesy like Manowar or anything, but it's a way of life.

I'm gonna catch shit for this, but I'm not a 'metal fanboy', per se. Yes, I love metal. I like metal more than any other genre of music. Metal was part of my formative years, and it has affected my life in many ways (mostly my clothing selection and wallet :( ). BUT...I do have other interests. I like politics, I like reading, I like girls, I (would) like having a good job, I like people respecting me...I don't let metal define me, just as I would not let any of those other things solely define me. I like the "Cameron lifestyle" (that is my name, sorry for the cheesy cliches), not the 'metal' lifestyle.

For some people here, metal may be your 'lifestyle' and the way you dress and look reflects that. But for me, I don't need to dress a certain way to reflect who I am. To paraphrase God in Exodus "I am who I am." Yes, I wear band t-shirts when I am lying around or going to a show, but I wearing a shirt and tie when I'm an intern in the Governor's office. I am the same person either way, I have the same tastes and goals, I just project a different image to different people.

Yeah, unless you know how to get along with people who have diverse opinions and tastes. You could have something else in common, after all. If I could find a cute chick who loved Ex Machina, monetary policy, and Legend of Zelda, but only listened to, I don't know, Kesha and 3oh!3, I could probably over look that flaw.

For the record, I think we're at an impasse. Some people think it's for the best to change for women, and have done so, and get all kinds of pussy. Some of us don't want to change who we are, and our dicks will never get wet. Oh well. I'll ponder it while I have an awesome time reading comic books and listening to metal.
