Whores that suck dick for money
I will kill with no forgiveness
They need to be taught a lesson
In butchery

I will leave them dead and bleeding
After giving them a beating
With my hammer I will smash the teeth
Out of their fuckin face

These cocksuckers will pay the price when
I fuck their faces with my knife
I will force my blade down their throats
As if it were my massive dick

The streets are filled with dirty whores
I'll show them what that pussy's for
They'll be forced to drink the swill
That spews from my erection

 Devourment!! :rocker:

So, today I had an interview with Honors Collegium, which is this faux-fancy organization on campus that helps honors students obtain fellowships, scholarships, and study abroad opportunities...pretty big deal. I think I fucked it up, because one of the guys interviewing me was disappointed by a) the fact that i wasn't a farmboy (he thought Troy was farmville, Brad knows what I mean) and b) I want to work in the government/public sector instead of the private sector. He was agribusiness and didn't like my comment that working in the public sector was more rewarding, in my opinion, to the community than private sector.

Oh well. Add that to the list of prestigious dreams that I have had that will die in flames. :flame:

a) Troy borders towns that are farm-driven, but yeah, Troy is basically a cute little Dayton sitting on top of Dayton. Bummer.
b) "Rewarding" is totally subjective and comes down to opinion. Surprised that mattered to him. Again, bummer.

I said that Troy was an oasis in a huge farm area, and he said "We like to think its the opposite." And then he asked me why I didn't want to study Eastern Slavic languages if I like Prague so much. And then he asked me why the Democrats aren't pushing gun control legislation through at the federal level. And then I told him that my grandpa said getting an ounce of cocaine off the street as a cop was more beneficial to the community than recovering 100 stolen TVs for some private company.

He didn't really like my answers for any of those things. I bet he used to teach at Northwestern.

Yeah...she's trying to make me all jealous and shit. Saying things like "I'm probably going to fuck Ian tonight. Or Tristan if he talks to me." So I just replied with "Haha okay, go ahead and be a whore, that will solve ALL of your problems. Idiot." Never got a response. I'm not going to let her ruin my day and I'm not going to wallow in self pity over it. Yes, I contributed to the break up and this fight and what not, but she made a huge mistake putting me through this shit for the past 2 months. We got some pet rats together and I've been taking care of them at my house because she can't have them at hers...so I'm dropping them off on her front porch tomorrow morning before she leaves for work, along with anything she's ever given me...notes, pictures, CDs, etc.

Not really. The last two Jorn albums kinda seemed dull to me. I'm not big on the fact that he's dropped practically all the progressive elements from his solo sound - as well as the fact that none of the Pagan's Mind guys are with him anymore. The title track to lonely are the Brave couldn't have said it better... "This is just rock and roll".

it only lasts about 5-10 minutes, but it feels much longer. youll start laughing uncontrollably but you wont be aware of it. then youll lose control of your speech, start to feel like youre being pushed back, time and space will start to slow down and fade away and youll enter a dream like state with lots of cartoonish colors. i suggest you lay down on a bed and turn the lights out so you can focus more on whats going on.

i was flying over a volcanic island while there were colonies of little ant-like creatures that looked like a tri-legged spider made out of orange and white capsule pills. my roommate thought he recorded a video of me explaining all this shit as it was happening with his phone, except he didnt.

I know what it is. A group of my friends tried it once and told me about it. It sounds hilarious. One of my friends got trapped in a corner...he kept running into the 2 walls connecting the corner and he thought he was closed in. He also saw this girl's head grow big and cartoony and explode into a bunch of colors. Then he woke up under the mattress.

It was outlawed in Oklahoma too. Now it's expensive as tits and hard to find.

Neige: It doesn't have any meaning, I just choose it for its noble ethereal sounding and wouldn't imagine any other name in its pronunciation ("Al-sest") to fit better with this music."

Well then.

Anyway, I just scheduled my classes for Fall Quarter. Econometrics (the mathy stuff of Economics), Persuasive Communication (writing course), and my first of three Spanish classes.

I didn't book anything on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings so I can be a page at the Ohio State House. Nothing too binding, anyway...

Maiden33

Myspace is good for hearing full songs, which Amazon is not (jesus, who needs iffy-quality 30-second sample?), but you still run risks. To me, that stuff is the precursor to whether or not I download a full album. Just because I hear a sample or a whole song and like it doesn't mean I want to blow $12-16 on the full album. I mean, if we're talking about a band I genuinely like and KNOW I can expect a good, solid disc that I will want to own, then I am never really shaky about it - but any time it's a band I'm either checking out for the first time or can't count on an album I'm gonna want to own, I just download it. If I like it enough to own it, I don't hesitate to do that. Also, having albums via downloading allows me to put off my impatience, and wind up paying what I want for a new album when I can afford it.

Google. Seriously there's no clever trick or inside knowledge. The key torrent sites are easy to find. As are non-torrent downloads. I have found so many easily accessible downloads of albums by accident just by typing the band and album name into Google to find some information.

In those cases, if I'm looking for information on a band it's probably because the label and the band are small, and I've got the CD to review, so yes, I do tell them. Fuck you all.

I'm saying that if I stumble across somewhere providing an illegal download of an album by a band or label I deal with, and I'm not saying I hunt them down, I inform the label/band so that, should they wish to, they can pursue getting it shut down.

And I'm aware that harms the honest folk like yourself, but you're outnumbered approximately 1289573485398:1 by the dishonest ones.

And I know it's only a small contribution, and if that download gets shutdown another one will just pop up in its place, but I do my bit.

Yeah, Maiden stuff isn't difficult on guitar. I love them to death and they're basically the reason why I play the instrument, but their stuff is really only "moderate difficulty", even the solos. They have a couple random songs with tricky parts, but overall it's really nothing someone who hasn't been playing a couple years shouldn't be able to pick up.

Probably, the US gets EVERYTHING later, even stuff released right away and "on time" is a few days after the rest of the world. I average about 3 or 4 albums a year I care about that actually can be found at any sort of chain retailer (Best Buy or FYE) within a month of their even supposed US release. :(

Not true in the first instance, but almost everything you get first is the underground stuff (and therefore usually the stuff I care more about). Shrinebuilder, for instance, was released Stateside way before Europe.

But yes when things are released the same time everywhere, in reality that means Friday in Europe, the following Monday in the UK and Tuesday in the US.

When are your official charts released? Is it Monday?

That's the reason all of our releases are Monday, because the charts are Sunday.

I have no idea, but it's probably Monday. Virtually every band I listen to releases in Europe/Japan about 6 weeks before the US. Hell, half the time they come out elsewhere with an ambiguous "US Release TBA" or "this summer", and it winds up never actually being readily available. Everything I buy comes from CD distribution places or Amazon. Maybe once or twice or three times a year I actually buy from a chain retailer. Maybe.

Well if something is available there, it's the best way I have to get something. Especially since FYE has started having all standard single-disc releases for $9.99. I can't get ANYTHING cheaper than that new unless it's over ten years old or something obscure that their label is like giving away (like those ProgRock sales). Even if I pay $15 for something at a chain retailer (or in the rare event I can find something in a CD shop, or even FIND a CD shop anymore), it's still cheaper and more convenient than other ways because it saves time and more importantly a few bucks on shipping.

I wait though. I don't remember the last time I bought a new album when it was still a new album. Unless it had already sold so well that the label allowed it to be reduced in price.

Vinyl is anything but an obsolete format, the proof is in the juice, CD sales be waning while vinyl kinda hovers around the same level. Vinyl won't outlast CD but they'll both be used til the end, if only because digital music in its essence can be transferred to CD easily for car listening or boombox blasting.

For me the benefit of CDs is that they are both a physical, listenable format, AND a source of digital music. I know vinyl will continue to sell until the end of time...I just don't really get why.

For me at least, and I think for anyone who spins vinyl regularly without an audiophile sound system, its as much about the experience of sitting down with an album on the turntable as it is for the quality of the audio reproduction itself, which is usually equal to if not of lower fidelity/produces more surface noise than that of a CD or digital source (especially on lots of the old used vinyl I've got), though there's no contest in my mind that high quality vinyl through good speakers is the best sounding way to hear a record, closest thing to it hearing it live. But a lot of the allure of vinyl is the whole experience, it feels more ritual in a way

This.
Also, bigger artwork makes a huge difference.
Now that MP3 players are connectible virtually anywhere, it's even easier to plug it into your car instead of fumbling around with CDs every 40-60 minutes (unless you just leave Sky Valley in for whenever you forget your iPod and the part of the album you pick up from dictates the way you drive for the next 10 minutes).

The artwork goes without saying, as does the fact that you can trim it clean an roll it up easier on an LP sleeve than a CD case. And I wish I was high tech enough to get the MP3 connector to the car action happening, I still fumble around with CD's and tapes. Having a copy of Sky Valley in the car at all times is appropriate

Protein shakes are fucking awesome
Fixed. :D

EDIT: They're an acquired taste, I know. Here's a recipe for ya...that'll ease the transition:

One whole banana, peeled
About 12 ounces of water or so
2-3 scoops of chocolate protein powder, depending on what you take
One big giant tablespoon of creamy peanut butter
One big handful of ice cubes*

Blend that shit up and enjoy. Yummy!!!

* - Substitute a big scoop or two of fat free, no sugar added frozen yogurt or ice cream instead of the ice cubes for a little creamier taste and texture, if you don't mind an extra couple of calories. :D

EDIT2: I also recommend using water instead of milk for any shake, because it dissolves the protein powder much better - less chunks for you, and more easily absorbed for your body. Everybody wins! ;)

I don't know if you take the Creatine at a different time of day, but if you'd like another recipe for fruity-flavored supplements I would suggest exchanging some fresh fruit such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc. for the peanut butter. I'd still keep the banana in there, because it adds thickness for consistency and also sweetness to make the drink taste better - plus a shitload of potassium, which is always a good thing. I like to use bananas that are nice and ripe, because they add more sweetness and break down better in the blender. Greenish bananas are bland-tasting and can sometimes be stringy in your shake. (bleck)

But yeah, do the berry thing with the Creatine. I've also heard that white grape juice adds to the effectiveness of Creatine, so you could substitute that for the water if you want to try that. I've always taken Creatine in tablet form, so that was never an issue for me.
