OK, one of the sellers (cdquest) on the Marketplace at Amazon has randomly reduced a whole bunch of stuff to £1. So with the £1.21 postage I got all of these for... wait for it... £2.21 ;)

Mercyful Fate - Time
Mercyful Fate - In The Shadows
Clutch - Blast Tyrant
Eric Sardinas - Treat Me Right
King Diamond - Abigail II
Waylon Jennings - Are You Ready For The Country/What Goes Around Comes Around
Symphony X - The Damnation Game
Death Angel - Art of Dying
Vinnie Moore - The Minds Eye
Venom - Welcome To Hell
Buckethead - Electric Tears
Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun
Eric Gales - The Story of My Life
Hatchet - Awaiting Evil
Opeth - Limited Edition Box Set (4CD set, bought purely for the Lamentations live CD)
Opeth - The Roundhouse Tapes
Mountains - Masters of War

Even these brand new 2009 releases:
Bloodbound - Tabula Rosa
Live - Live At The Paradiso
Five Finger Death Punch - The Way of The Fist
Yngwie Malmsteen - Angels of Love

Remarkable. Possibly too good to be true. We'll see how many turn up!

Well, there's isn't one really. I mean, their storefront on Amazon is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/shops/cdquest_us

But it doesn't list all their products or anything. I just went through my wishlist.

Don't forget also this is the UK, so you'll be paying shipping as if you were ordering from the UK, but the items will be shipped from the US.

Try finding that seller on Amazon.com.

Edit: I think the company in question is actually www.cdquest.com, but the prices aren't the same.

I can't help but feel if you do only get charged one pound for all of those, it will be pennies split up among executives and not the artists.

I also can't help but feel that this is what's killing the music.

You are working on the basis that the merchant got the CD for free. In most cases, when the merchant has bought their stock, that's the label's part done. They've made their money. They take their cut, and pass the rest on to the wherever it is it's got to go (fuck all to the artist, as we know).

What the merchant sells a CD for is their business. If you pay $10 for a CD or $1 for a CD, that makes no difference to what the artist gets. The difference between those two prices is the difference in profit the seller makes. They've already paid the wholesale price to the label/distributer.

I've no problem paying less than RRP for a CD. Ever.

What's killing music is the same shit that's always been killing music. Moron public, bullshit radio and illegal music trading (which, these days, is downloading).

When I get a clear week with no release date pressures, I'm afraid. At the moment the next one of those is the week commencing the 15th. Although the week before currently only has a couple of Def Leppard reissues to be dealt with, so we'll see.

I lose the week commencing June 1st to the Sweden Rock Festival, though.

Well, unsurprisingly all those CD Quest orders were cancelled. Apparently they were doing some programming for a new Amazon site in another country and fucked something up with the program which posts items to Amazon.co.uk, so it automatically posted a whole bunch of stuff they don't even have anymore at a default price of £1.

I figured it had to be something like that as soon as I saw large box sets and 2009 releases at that price.

So, I made a pact with myself and my past: sell all my old, worthless, memorable crap laying around my house, and use money to buy new, useful, memory-creating crap.

So far, I've sold about half of my coin collection, an old broken guitar, box of Magic the Gathering cards, and a bunch of old books. Still looking to shed a bunch of comic books, old knick-knacks (jackalope, furry fish), old t-shirts, baseball cards, old N64 games, and some other random stuff. In their stead, I am buying new N64 games, stuff for my dorm, a new camera, and a new iPod.

O' memories, how easy it is to put a price on you!

I don't understand how the voice for Guitar Hero works. People who don't have an upper register in their voice aren't going to be able to pass themselves off as a soprano for the music nerds, so how are they going to be able to pass themselves off as singing high notes for a too-technical-for-rock-&-roll video game?

I didn't have much. When I was 8, I thought collecting every shiny piece of circular metal was cool. I just sold off 11 old U.S. coins, and about 30 foreign banknotes. I still have a bunch of foreign coins, a .999 Fine silver 1 oz coin, a set of Civil War facsimile monies, and a handful of game tokens and commemorative coins. Basically all worthless, and I'm tired of holding onto them. Some guy at the mall told me that silver coin is going for around $15 right now,and I sure as hell don't have any use with it.......

I dunno, it was on Palladia here. It's two and a half hours, with (short) commercial breaks. I don't know how that compares to the DVD. They showed a separate hour and a half of just concert footage too, though, which is what I'm watching right now.

Either way, it's in HD, so the DVD would probably be a slight drop in quality.

"As a very special bonus for the fans, Maiden have included a second disc of the entire set from the 2008 segment of this tour with the DVD. Sixteen songs from sixteen different cities in eleven countries around the world, for the first time ever encompassing such varied places and cultures in one concert."

^This wasn't in what I saw, and I'm very motivated to see this. :D

That's not hard. The vocals on most of live After Death were pretty bad. But I guess that's what happens you record your live album near the end of your longest tour ever.
Both at the shows, on bootlegs, and in this footage, I thought Bruce's voice was in fine form on this tour in general.

Better save it if you still want that Macbook!

Oh yeah, I'm definitely fine on that front. I made $1,530 from my grad party, $375 on eBay, and I'm getting about a $325 paycheck before I go to the Apple Store just for insurance purposes, so I'm not too worried. That entire revamp of their product line last week was a little unexpected though, so I'm not certain which computer to buy. I know it's going to be a MacBook Pro with Apple Care now, but I don't know what monitor size or hard drive size just yet.

Aliens
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek: Generations
Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
(all three Star Wars DVDs are used and are the releases with the original theatrical versions of each)

That's exactly what I got, and they probably came out about three years ago here too. I was just so angry about being duped into buying the original DVD box set of the Special Edition versions--just a short time before it was announced that the Theatrical versions would be put out on DVD--that I never got around to buying the latter until now.

CM Distro has some fucking sweet sales right now, I think I'm going to buy like half of the Slough Feg discography for 20 bucks when I get paid Monday.

another one has seen the light

im assuming you already have the most recent two albums, i suggest buying the rest of the albums in the reverse order they were released.
