I've been meaning to post this stuff for a while, but USPS lost one of the Sepultura CDs (tracking number said delivered, I never got it). Then one of the Sodom CDs never shipped, so I had to file a claim to get my money back. After that I purchased both CDs again.

I got an email from IndieMerch today and I opened it to see that they had a special sale on a Cattle Decapitation shirt! I just couldn't pass up this offer: http://www.indiemerchstore.com/item/10802/

Also, if you like their Facebook page you get a discount code, so I paid $5.10 for a shirt that's normally $18. :D

Sub-Basement is ok. I like the First Daze Here comp because it's not quite like the other Pentagram albums...it's got more of a 70's rock feel, but heavier. They were doing something unique for years before they released their first album.

Plus the version of 20 Buck Spin on Firze Daze Here is about 5 times as good as the one on Relentless.

These sell new for $129. I just found one on Ebay for $31 plus shipping ($10). So more or less a third of the price. WIN.

This is merely a very small step in the complete gear overhaul I'm gonna be going through in the next few weeks/months. I plan to literally replace every part of my gear (except my speaker cabinet). Barring any insane deals (like this one), the rest should cost around a total of $1,600.

Finally realized the Spider 3 'aint that great beyond a practice amp, eh? ;)

Yes, and no. Honestly as a live amp I still don't mind it too much (though I admit the digital-ness is increasingly annoying to me). The amp decision comes largely in the wake of the fact that my band is recording a professional-quality album, and all the shortcomings of that amp are horribly multiplied by the recording environment. I need this album to be perfect, and a large part of my part in that is my own guitar sound, so I need to find the sound I've always wanted, and one that sounds 100% pro-quality.

I'm going to keep my Line 6 (largely because the re-sale value of ANYTHING if you're going through a middle-man is so pathetically low that you're just better off keeping it) for a practice amp, and honestly, might even use it live from time to time. But yeah, the new amp head I'm getting is gonna be one of these:

I'll drink just about anything with alcohol in it, but whiskey is always my go to. Dunno why, but it seems like that whiskey is what I always ended up with in high school when people would buy me booze. I did some thinking recently and I think I counted that I've had around 15 different brands of whiskey. :allan:

These days Jim Beam and Wild Turkey are my favorites, but through my senior year I drank so much Yukon Jack that I just can't do it anymore. That shit either makes me enraged or borderline dead.

Unfortunately. They're not the worst thing I've heard, but their music doesn't click to me at all. Vocalist is sub-par to me, combined with a seven string mess doesn't help either. I'd much rather have Trivium. Have fun at the NYC show though, should be a good time.

Yeah Periphery took me a while to get into. The singer is actually pretty damn good, it's just that he kinda sounds like your typical post-hardcore singer. But yeah I'm looking forward to the show for sure. DT has a great set. They were amazing on the Maiden tour last year so I'm definitely excited for it. And Trivium have never sounded better live as well, so that's another plus.

I shouldn't have said he was sub-par, because that's true, he is a very good singer. I just think your description of him works better as to why I don't like them. Dream Theater's set is great, the new songs they are playing are sweet. And the oldies are a guaranteed fun time.

Anyone use "too much" OJ when making themselves a screwdriver? The balance is off for me usually and anyone who sees me pour it is usually like "lol?". But I ain't a pussy, I like to get irresponsibly braindead. I just love OJ and want my drink to taste as much like it as possible. Something about that record drew me in.

Every song is dark as fuck is what I like about it. Sure, her voice is kind of pleasant and airy, but she's singing about "soldiers falling like lumps of meat" and how "the glorious fruit of our land...is deformed children," all doom and gloom and war and despair. The battlefield horn fanfare that sort of lays on top of/tangential to the main groove of "The Glorious Land" is one of the most brilliant musical decisions of the year. War doesn't fall in with the rhythm of life, but it's there, and it's pervasive no matter how much we try to carry on with our own groove. Brutal, bare, emotional album. Maybe top 10 for me.

No I think they're just saying there really haven't ever been games of 30+ hours in length that aren't RPG's

It's not relevant, so you're just going to arbitrarily say it's too short. Gotcha.

When I first rented Resident Evil 4, I beat it over the weekend on normal mode. And now about 2 years later, I can knock it out in about 12 hours. I guess that game sucks because it's too short.

I would count replay value as part of the length of a game. Honestly a 12 hour game that you probably wont be playing again is pretty short. If I'm never gonna play a game again, I'd prefer it at least be some kind of epic journey . But I can think of a few games that are like 7 hours long at best, but I've played so many times that I don't consider it "too short" at all.

The only games that come to mind that I've played recently that I immediately felt cheated by the length was Modern Warfare 2, but it had a solid multiplayer aspect.

Well the multiplayer is the main reason people buy COD in the first place, so a whole lot of effort isn't going to be put into that department. Though I must say, I did enjoy the Black Ops single player, though it's only like a 6 hour campaign or something ridiculous like that.

Main story length doesn't bother me that much. Quality over quantity any day. And there are a lot of side missions and challenges in both Batman games to keep you busy, especially in Arkham City. But if we're talking GOTY, half of y'all mofuggas can't even play it.

I think the last game I'm going to buy this year (the rest I'll ask for Christmas!) will be BF3. I hate to say it, because it goes against everything I stand for, but the Single Player looks lame but the multiplayer looks fucking amazing.

Other games I'm gonna play this year:

Arkham City (have a voucher for it when it's on PC)
Dark Souls
Space Marine
Saints Row 3

Me too. But I'm not paying retail for it and my desire to not pay stupid prices for things is so far winning the battle against my need to play the game.

Got Assassin's Creed, the first one, today. Been madly playing AC2 and Brotherhood recently, and I had the first one on the PC but barely played it. Mainly play Xbox now, so got the Classics edition for cheap.

Also exposed a scammer on Play.com by placing an order for Arkham City at half retail price with them then getting it cancelled and reporting them :D

Zombie Doctor costume. Wish I planned this ahead of time, would have made it more Haemorrhage like if I did.

Dragonball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi
Dead Rising 2 Off the Records

Honestly was just strolling through Hamden and randomly went to Gamestop. Didn't know either of those 2 games existed (cause I'm not really a gamer). And apparently the DBZ one came out today and friends across the hall got it too. I haven't played a DBZ game since Tenkaichi 2 but I'm glad it's still cool to play in college

Yeah, I'm not getting it right now because of that. I may get around to it eventually, but I have such little interest in Origin and infecting my computer with that shit. Skyrim's almost out anyway, and there's more Breaking Bad and The Wire to watch for me. :allan:

Yeah, Wildfire S. It's awesome because it has most of the same features as the other android phones but it's way more compact and was a little cheaper, since it's not like I'm watching movies and editing photos all the time on my phone and I couldn't stand carrying around something the size of a graphing calculator in my pocket. The only thing is that texting is kind of a bitch so far because the keys are smaller.

I switched the keypad to a numeric one because I just couldn't get on with the tiny qwerty one, but it's still a bitch because there's not enough purchase at the bottom of the phone to hold it in one hand, and you can't text by feel.

Are you insane? It's 8.99 here.

Never would do it in the States but over here I don't have much of a choice but to pay that much. Amazon.de is only 1 Euro cheaper and it would be a 3 Euro shipping charge.:hecho: In Austria the new releases were slightly cheaper, I think The Hunter, Welcome 2 My Nightmare, and Worship Music were about 14 Euro each.

At least there is only one more new release I'm interested in getting this year.

The really fucked up thing is the double disc Lulu was like 4 Euro cheaper.

Amazon.de charge for shipping? It's free on all orders here.

You could probably have ordered from here and got it cheaper!

Or just order from cdwow.com, where shipping is free and a whole bunch of stuff quickly gets reduced to 5.99 because they get their stock from Argentina :D

I got the new Anthrax that way about two weeks after it was released.
