How is it?I have a friend who was at the Aragon (not Argon ) show, and he said it's great in terms of video / sound quality, but he also said that Chicago crowds tend to be somewhat sedate, so when they show shots of the crowd it doesn't match the energy of what's going on on the stage.

He hella likes it, though. He said the Crack the Skye movie that they played on the video screen in the backdrop on stage during the CTS set is on the DVD, too.

Funny story. At Ozzfest last year there was a group of people aged 50's and 60's all in a group together wearing that Skeletonwitch shirt, and a couple other designs, and they looked like the kind of people who you would never see at a metal show. And they were going nuts for Skeletonwitch, and that was all. I'm guessing it was family of the band members, since they are from Ohio, but I didn't think of that until later.

It was when several bands in the '80s recorded it. Now it's just a tribute album.

Well

It was more of pulling an all-nighter with just a little nap in between
It's something I would normally never do, but I only had to drive about ten minutes from home, and it was a very special presale where you could only buy tickets at the actual box office. It was a special presale for cardholders for the organization (I am not one, but I was able to borrow someone's card).
I'm as shocked about this on as you are.
Problem? I honestly thought the last album was great, and the new one promises to be just as good. I also have the DVD they released a year or two back and love it and think they sound fantastic live. Also, shoot me, I do love the hits and classic albums.

A "formal shirt", typically. A "dress shirt" most certainly requires a bow tie and a tux or dress suit (which is different to a regular suit).

And "casual shirt" for ones which are not suited for work (like flannel or denim, for instance).

Unless they're pink. We don't talk about those ;)

Yeah, it's total Queensryche worship, but most of the time I'd rather listen to something that sounds familiar like MR than cool guitar intro....rawr rawr rawr....guitar riff....growl growl growl.

Hell, it beats anything QR has put out in the last 20 years.

Meh, they were just never really important enough to me to get early. Plus, those particular two SYL albums only just got cheap.

I already had 'Alien' and 'The New Black'.

There's probably a shit-ton of "important" albums I don't have yet. It's all about price.

Today I just got Blut Aus Nord's 'the Work Which Transforms God' (very impressed), the EP that came with it (whatever it's called), Cradle of Filth's 'From the Cradle to Enslave', Wu-Tang Clan's 'Iron Flag' and the Melvins 'the Maggot' (which I've heard a million times but lost when I got rid of al my CD-R's years ago).

And this past Monday I got Disgorge's 'Consume the Forsaken' and Skinless' 'Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead' (fucking awesome, except the Black Sabbath cover which just doesn't fit the album).

I wouldn't mind that at all if the majority of their customers made informed choices, but they don't, and are therefore eternally deserving of my mockery. Including the ones who do.

Besides which, wide-spread customer satisfaction is rarely an indicator of a good company or a good product. Just a popular one.

Being an IT guy I have used all sorts of computers through the years. I don't entirely hate Apple, in fact I own an Ipod. One area where Apple is king if you're using the computer for audio/video (hence, the reason Hollywood and the recording industry loves them). My issue with Apple is, I find their products don't give me enough freedom and are very overpriced.

I've continuously owned at least one Apple product since 2004, and in those 8 years I've had exactly one thing go wrong (hard drive failure on my Macbook). Never had a single thing fail on any of my iPods or my iPhone. That's a much better track record than I've had with any other brand.

They average about £12 ($18/19) on Amazon here.

Belus - £10.93
Det Som Engang Var - £12.04
Hlidhskjalf - £13.06
Burzum (including Aske EP) - £10.83
Filosofem - £11.99
Daudi Baldrs - £9.99
Draugen: Rarities - £10.99

And in some cases a little cheaper on the Marketplace. I haven't checked other retailers.

Those are still far too expensive for my liking, but at least cheaper than you've seen them for so far I think. All in stock too.

Carnivore isn't Pete's side project, it was his second band (the first being the incredible Fallout) and Type O was formed from the dissolving of Carnivore. Carnivore is badass thrash for Mad Max speed punks, Type O Negative is boring dark rock for depressed goth girls. And they're not just dark goth rock. It's the bipolar nature of their albums that make them so good. You've got bleak depressing shit sitting right next to Misfits-style horror punk with weird-ass interludes and a great tongue-in-cheek sense of humor about everything. Carnivore...is just a little much for me. Meh.

Yeah, "gothic girls" I'm around are more trendy than anything, thus they listen to trendier-type bands. A lot of them probably aren't even aware "gothic metal" is a subgenre of metal. But I'm talking about high school and college age gothic chicks. I'm sure the older chicks listen to some Type O.

The main reason I REALLY prefer Type O to Carnivore (and Type O's first album) is that fucking guitar tone

It's true.

And this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTBeuNZkxwg) is more awesome than Type O's discography, Metallica after Master of Puppets, Slayer after Reign in Blood and Megadeth.

Strange, I've never met a "goth girl" that listened to Type O. Maybe they used to, but now it's all like "Bring Me The Horizon" and "A Day To Remember" and "Black Veil Brides" and those sorts of bands. If depressed goth chicks liked Type O, I probably wouldn't hate them as much.

Those are scene girls, not goths. Goth has been dead for about a decade now, it's very rare you will see a legit goth person.

In all honesty, I ignore about 90% of what you post unless it's a direct response to me or something I'm already caring about. That's not meant to be an insult, it's just that you and I have just about nothing in common musically, so any discussion in the "Now Playing" threads by you I usually just don't read, and I don't even SEE a lot of the others, cause I don't even go into the same threads.

Also, for someone who ignores most of what I post, you sure picked up on a random thing to post a snotty reply about.

...and speaking of snotty, no matter how hard you try to cover it up or backpedal about your post above, that came across as just about the most condescending and dismissive thing anyone has ever posted to me. Ever. So congrats on that.

I've given you a bit of a hard time in the past, but it was a long fucking time ago. Since then, I've basically decided that you're not such a bad guy - a little cynical for my taste, maybe - but hey, whatever - and I've generally refrained from busting your chops on any and all subjects. Mutual respect among intelligent beings who don't happen to see eye on musical tastes, agree to disagree, just plain common courtesy, whatever you want to call it - I haven't flipped you any shit in a long time. Not even in jest. Hell, I've even given you a few sincere compliments from time to time.

...and the last two posts you made to me is all you've got in response? Thanks, man.
