Haven't really heard much Kylesa. Plus I think the show is at a bar, which would require me to be either 18 or 21, plus I work seven hours on Friday night.

Or I would go ;)

What he's not telling us is that it's a burned CD with "Nile - In Their Darkened Shrinez" written on it with a Sharpie, with no artwork in a torn paper envelope...and when you put it in the CD player you find out it's actually Justin Beiber.

Just finished spinning it. Fucking awesome album, I hadn't heard the whole thing before. Played perfectly, and sounded an awful lot like Nile to me. ;)

Yeah, I have had it copied from a friend for quite some time, needed a physical copy! And BMTH, one of my friends was blasting it in his car for literally weeks after he got it, and I really dig where they are going sound wise. Chia Goodness cereal (dried apples, almonds, cinnamon, and chia seeds. Yes, the dried apples were disgusting.)
Hemp Milk (Its high calories, which is good for me since I'm trying to keep my metabolism high.)
All Natural Almond Butter (absolutely delicious)
All Natural Peanut Butter (also delicious)
Organic carrots

Aside from meat, all natural/organic stuff doesn't cost all that much more than 'regular' stuff. There isn't a Whole Foods within 20 minutes of my hometown, which is probably why (or because) my town is full of fat slobs. /healthrant

I'm not an extravagant shopper/chef, so maybe just the stuff I buy is cheaper. A can of reduced sodium black beans at Wal-Mart is 2 cents cheaper than a can of regular black beans at Whole Foods. And the latter has half the sodium as the former, if that tells you anything about food processing.

Righteous! I got into it around the time I had some stuff going on with a girl, long story short it was like the worst possible time for us to get together, and the concept for this album really provided a poignant soundtrack for the whole situation. I hope against hope they decide to do it live one day! Cheers man :D

I've always listened to Opeth, since my early metal days, Blackwater Park, Karma, and Demon Of The Fall constantly got played, but I never got the songs. That was back when I thought Slipknot was the best, heaviest band ever. A few months ago I actually listened to Opeth's discography and fell in love. Still Life to me has the best Opeth songs, and the solo for White Cluster is the SHIT. It seems like the only track they play pretty often is Face Of Melinda though. Not complaining, but Serenity Painted Death, The Moor, and White Cluster would be tits to see live.

I was the same, I hadn't seriously gotten into guitar playing, or indeed progressive music, so most of Opeth's music, while I thought it was good, went over my head. Then, once I had actually played guitar for a couple of years, and gotten into other progressive metal and rock, like Dream Theater and Rush, Opeth suddenly became this amazingly technical band whose songs had so many layers to them haha. It would be incredible, its such a haunting album, and I think it showcases the bands talents moreso than the fan favorite, 'Blackwater Park', thats not to say BP isn't fucking awesome as well!

I didn't think they talked all that much, but Mikael is hilarious, so I didn't mind when they did. Then again, they were a supporting act when I saw them, so they might talk more when they have more time, I don't know.

Er, no they don't. And yeah, Mikael is a comic genius, so it's all good.

I've seen them seven times now. To be 100% honest, much as I love them, they're hit and miss.

1st - London, 1200 capacity club -
2nd - London, 2,000 capacity club - ordinary
3rd - London, Roundhouse Tapes show - ordinary
4th - London, supporting Dream Theater - pretty good
5th - London, Royal Albert Hall Evolution XX show - excellent
6th - Sweden Rock Festival - ordinary
7th - High Voltage Festival - ordinary

It's extremely close between the two for me as well, though I claim Blackwater Park is my #1 just because I have a strong emotional connection to the album and it's also the album that thrust me into my unconditional love for Opeth, who is my favorite band.

I'd have to check, but i've seen opeth somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty times :eyes:

I've seen them once (with Enslaved), and it was the best show I've ever been to. If there was any band I could see again, it would be them.

Aquarius is sure to disappoint you unless you go in knowing what you're getting. You're getting a small record store (still much bigger than Shaxul, though) but the people working there are awesome. I spent all day there in February reading their blurbs on stuff.

The best Rasputin is the one in SF, it's fucking great. Best record store around.

Even better than Amoeba?

Indeed it was a pre-order. I wanted to make sure I could get the colored vinyl. I couldn't pass up the fact that it is contained in a quadruple gatefold package that folds into a house either.

Plus, the new song is quite good.

Supreme 90. Its a rip off of P90x. I'm looking for more diversity for my program, and this has 11 DVDs for a total of 31 bucks. Compared to 12 DVDs in P90x, for 120. It may be cheaper, less thought out, and less popular....but I'll try anything for 31 dollars.
