Oh, but they did! It was the intro to Heartwork at the close of the set, remember? They didn't play the whole thing, but they definitely squeezed in that main riff that is just so damn good...then they launched into Heartwork full bore, and on the way out they played the closing riffs from Carneous Cacoffiny. Bad. Ass. Closer. :blaze::rocker::blaze:

I've been meaning to hear that album for like 3 years now, still haven't gotten around to it. I really like some of the stuff on "11 Dreams". I'm really hoping the 3 guys that split form a new band.

I'm going to burn it onto a CD and send it to your house. It's SO good, do yourself a favor and listen, NOW!

And as to the 3 guys, I totally agree with that. Don't know if it would be as good as Mercenary though.

But of course - I am always willing to help indoctrinate another new RC fan! :D

They have three full-length albums, and quite frankly they are all fantastic and very similar. They are an instrumental post-metal trio, but they make one hell of a lot of noise - sometimes beautiful, usually heavy (but not always), but always awesome.

They are not that easy to find in stores for some reason, but I guarantee you can get their stuff off the internet (legally, or otherwise - I recommend the former of course). Good luck and enjoy - let us all know what you think!

Really? I think it's a great album, it's filled with in-your-face riffs and some different experimentation here and there. All the clean part of the songs, the mid-section of the title track, the super pentatonic-ness of "Bring Me The Night". It ain't the most original things released, but it's pretty damn solid in my opinion.

Well, they've done what they said they'd do, I'll give them that. They've made an old school thrash album. But it goes absolutely nowhere, and for me that strips away everything that's great about Overkill. The brilliance of Overkill for me was their variety. This is as one-dimensional as they've probably ever been.

It was good of Metallica to write the intro for them too.

Yeah, I mean, it's a good version of what all the young bands are trying to achieve at the moment. So in that sense it's a good thing that the genuine bands are showing the kids how it's really done.

Also, those of you who have heard it, tell me which Motorhead riff Bring Me The Night rips off. It's annoying me.

It wasn't a Motorhead riff, it was Diamond Head's "The Prince." And I think the problem with the previous two albums was the lack of variety. Too much groove.

On the Brink of Extinction
Time Waits for No Slave
Napalm Death

Now I realize why I didn't warm up to this album right away - it's essentially a thrash album (albeit heavy as fuck), by a band that I grew up knowing as grindcore.

I also realize why Decibel (and others) like it so much - because for what it is, it's damned good.

So I'm hanging up my hang-up of "what this band was" vs. "what they are today", and simply resigning myself to enjoy what is a truly heavy and thrash-tastic album. I mean, I should have known better - they entertained the hell out of me at Maryland Death Fest last May, so what's the big deal, right?

Napalm Death: Still the shit, just a slightly different flavor. :D

I love Iron Maiden so much that I think Bruce's solo career is one of my top ten bands. :snivel:

It's up there for me. I love every one of his albums. Particularly Balls To Picasso.

Even his b-sides are cool.

I'm mostly partial to Accident of Birth, but they're all good. :fist:

King in Crimson
The Chemical Wedding
Bruce Dickinson

EDIT: Dammit, I have to reevaluate that first statement. Chemical Wedding is just as good, if not better. And hell, Tyranny of Souls isn't far behind.
