How's the new Hypocrisy album SerpentineVIVIVI? I downloaded that late last night and I was going to listen to it after class today, but I stumbled across the Nile album.

It's fucking awesome. I haven't really given the record the "proper listen", but from what I've heard it is definitely a competitor with "Virus", and I fucking love that album. Great stuff, just like the new Nile :rocker:

Yes, I don't think Scar Symmetry fans will be disappointed at all. Roberth's screaming sound a lot like Christian's, and Lars' clean vocals are pretty good I think, albeit different.

I am really liking this track, I think I like it better than Psychopathy! It's different for Slayer, not just speed. Well, really you only have to listen to Leprosy and then you're done. Those are the top two. Then, you can take all the more progressive stuff that came later and rate it as "equivalent", and in a whole different category than the early stuff. The results should look like this:

Genre-Defining Awesome: Leprosy > Scream Bloody Gore
Progressive and Still Fucking Awesome: Every Death album that isn't Leprosy and Scream Bloody Gore (all equal for the most part)

I'll have the stones to admit I may be wrong on that one. It's just that I grew up on Leprosy and SBG, so they are the classics to me. (Plus, I saw that material performed live, by the master himself, three times. Hard to forget that. ;))

I really gotta listen to the post-Leprosy stuff more, I guess - but just for the record, I never said it sucked...just that it is a different class of death metal altogether. It's way more technical than the early stuff, which was just plain brutal fun. :party::rocker::party:

Ah yes, a concept album / "rock opera" with multiple singers than actually gets the concept of having them sing together in a dialogue-esque sequence rather than just in terms of verses or choruses.
