Yeah, I heard about all that. If it's true, she's one of the hottest he-she's I have seen (not that I've seen that many!). My favorite quote from the article - although it's debatable whether she ever actually said it - is this:
"I have both a poon and a peener. Big f**king deal.”
Priceless. You can't write that shit, people. :D

ARGH WHY CAN'T THE REST OF THE ALBUM SOUND LIKE THIS.
Because that song was written in 1996 under the name "BlackOut" when Sonata was still called Tricky Beans. That's why it sounds so flowery compared to the rest of the stuff on the album; Tony just re-wrote the lyrics and some minor arrangements. That being said, I pretty much really like the whole album. The only song that doesn't do anything for me is "As If The World Was Ending."

I don't know. I think this is a very difficult topic to nail down. I first want to say that I've never ever heard the cover you're referring to. I don't like when people defend bad covers by saying "Covers are supposed to be your own interpretation of the song". I buy that that is sometimes true, but I've definitely heard it used to defend bad covers of songs. For example, if you're going to cover a song but change chord structures, vocal melodies, song arrangement, etc., I don't think calling it a true cover is really a far analysis. It doesn't make it bad, but it's not the song as people know it. If you're going to significantly change parts of a song, you're opening yourself up to criticism from people, not just because people don't like things just because they're different, but because they may not like them in general. However, if you decide to do a cover and do it in the vein of the original, people have every right to criticize it for its shortcomings in replicating the original.
Me, I just don't really see the point in covering a song and making considerable altercations to it. If I WANT to cover a song, there's a very good chance it's because I really love the song to begin with, and I think it's a very pretentious sort of thing to assume you can make the song better/more interesting than the original version. I'm not saying it can't be done, but to me it defeats the purpose of doing a cover in the first place. As a musician, I want to cover songs I love playing by bands I love, so why would I not want to do my best to replicate them?

My opinion on this is exactly the opposite. A cover should not be note-perfect. Why bother covering it, in that case? Why wouldn't I just listen to the original?
Covers can go either way for me. But if your gonna stick to the original, make it as note perfect as possible. Go outside of your genre to accomplish this. But if you're gonna make it different, then make it so far out and so out there, that the only way people will recognize it will be the lyrics.

This album just reminds me of the bizarre shock of leaving rural, barren, vast, snow-covered Canada and entering Toronto, maybe the biggest city I've been to (I'm not looking it up). There is seriously no "suburban" divider line, it's just nothing to something in a flash.

This is pretty much how I feel. AMOLAD is my favorite album but, to be honest, I don't think most of the songs translate live very well (Colours is definitly an exception). However, I'm so glad Maiden decided to do the whole album and I'm very thankful I got to witness it. Me and my dad drove like 7 hours to the asshole of America (Camden), had shitty seats, the tank didn't work that night, and the crowd was disgustingly uninterested in the first 10 songs of the set but I wouldn't change it for the world. :)
