Wow where to start. I got there late so i missed pretty much all of the first band. I got into the venue and found an ok place by the left bar when the guitar player from the band comes out of nowhere right in front of me and plays the final note. then hands the guitar to some kid. that was sooo kool. Their music can suck for all I care, the guitarist is one hell of a nice guy!

The second band, Cynic, was the worst band i have ever seen live. Even Lauren Harris was better than this pile of shit. i thought only one of their songs were decent. Each one sounded the same and were slow as hell. Almost made me forget i was at a metal show. They fail.

DragonForce made up for the shitty opening band. They kicked ass as usual. It was one of the most fun performances i have ever seen. the pit was actually intense unlike the Wiltern show back in November.

DragonForce Set

Heroes Of Our Time
Operation Ground And Pound
Reasons To Live
Heart Of A Dragon :rocker::rocker:
The Warrior Inside
Key Board/Guitar Solo
Revolution Deathsquad
Soldiers Of The Wasteland
The Last Journey Home
Strike Of The Ninja :rocker::rocker:
Valley Of The Damned
Through The Fire And The Flames

The set was lacking some great songs (Fury Of The Storm, My Spirit Will Go On, Black Fire... etc) But other than that they did a good job picking songs. Overall the Wiltern show was better but the fans at this show were really into it. There was a sad wall of death attempt during the last song. Oh well, we tried haha

I should probably just go ahead and lock this thread because the Cynic fanboys are going to freak out.

I didn't know anyone didn't know Cynic had fanboys. I'm not a huge Cynic fan, although Focus was really good. The new one - not a fan of the clean vocals. very much preferred the vocoder.

also, no Black Winter Night or Revelations? lame

You know, I'm all for opinions on this here internet as well as this here message board, but the level of sheer ignorance displayed in the topic post is really just too much to begin to fathom; namely these especially detailed segments..

The second band, Cynic, was the worst band i have ever seen live.

And this is on a show where DragonForce; a band known for pulling out every stop known to man in the studio, but not even coming close to achieving the same live, is sharing the bill..

Even Lauren Harris was better than this pile of shit.

Yes, I think it's been established that you'd prefer DragonForce's lead singer..

Each one sounded the same and were slow as hell. Almost made me forget i was at a metal show. They fail.

This reveals that you have never even tried to listen to them before. The highest level of ignorance is to reject something that you know nothing about. Perhaps never even attempted to listen to any other music at all. If you did, you would understand how much more talented Paul Masdival is as a truly diverse artist in a field where diversity isn't necessarily known to frequent in comparison to DragonForce's overhyped crew of video game buffs. Cynic may not incorporate the traditional death or power sound, but I would not consider DragonForce as a 'metal' headliner either (I consider them "Butt Rock").

Cynic has fanboys???? wow that's a shock

Coming from the same guy who praises DragonForce, Pot Kettle Black.

Its a shame Cynic are on this tour playing for ignorant video game fans.

I saw the Fargo, ND gig last Tuesday, and I am a Cynic fan. But in live performance they sucked. Horribly. Dragonforce, on the other hand, was mind-blowing. I didn't even know any of the songs and I loved every minute of it.

Cynic take note: showmanship really does matter.
