View Full Version : Jumbo Dream Set List!

Maiden33
04-23-2007, 01:39 PM
The theme of this is, pick a band of your choice, and design a dream set list that's remarkably lengthy (within reason, no 5 hour shows please)... Something around 3 hours preferably, and make it as outlandish as you prefer... acoustic sets, orchestras, backing choirs, whatever have you, go crazy! Not real strict on this, but generally do bands that have extensive catalogues and history, rather than picking a band with just 2 or 3 albums and having them perform their entire discography

I'll be doing mine with Savatage:
(all lead vocals by Zach Stevens unless otherwise noted)
Intro: The Ocean
1.Welcome
2.Turns to Me
3.Edge of Thorns
4.Chance
5.Strange Wings (Jon and Zach)

11.Stare Into the Sun
12.Damien
13.This Isn't What We Meant

Well, LZ are reforming, so maybe they'll play just that setlist at their one show ;)

There's a press conference on Wednesday.

There's also this: http://www.ledzeppelin.com/ (this is actually also the release date of the new best of "Mothership", so it may just be referring to that).

Yep... that's what I said... (although I didn't mention the O2 as the venue). It's been informally confirmed by Percy as well.

Like I say, press conference tomorrow.

Hah,thnx:)That would be a good set for the upcoming Somewhere Back In Time Tour,Which by the way i cannot fucking wait for!!

I admit, I'm quite excited for the tour, it will probably be the best Maiden show I'll ever see, but sadly I know this is Maiden, they will probably cheat us and give us a half-assed bunch of songs.
They should purposely not be playing 2 Minutes to Midnight, Can I Play With madness, The evil That Men Do, or Heaven Can Wait, because those songs all got substantial live play back in the day, or even recently.

They should instead pull out real rarities like Moonchild, Infinate Dreams, Alexander the Great, Deja Vu, or The Duelist.

I agree with ur slection of songs, but i dont agree with your statement of Maiden butchering set lists, they,in my opinion have always had a pretty good selcetion of songs especially on the Brave New World Tour and also with the Early Days Tour, but who knows what will happen,as long as they do rime and aces high ill be fuckin happy!!

I think what he meant is the fact that Maiden's setlists (on paper) seem extremely repetitive.

For instance: After Ed-Hunter, the only song they ever played from Powerslave was 2 Minutes To Midnight. And it seems like we have to wait until a "greatest hits tour" of sorts for them to play anything from Piece Of Mind other than the Trooper.

Now that I think about it, have Maiden ever actually played a song live on a latter tour that they never played from an album tour?
