Brazilan thrashers SEPULTURA have issued a statement explaining the cancellation of the first few shows of their North American headlining tour (as BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported yesterday). It reads as follows:
"We would like to apologize to everyone for our delay for the upcoming U.S. tour. There were visa problems preventing use from starting the tour on time. Our first show will start in Seattle, Washington, November 21st.
"The worst feeling for us is to cancel shows and again we sincerely apologize for anyone who purchased tickets for the previous shows."
SEPULTURA vocalist Derrick Green added in a separate statement, "The American consulate has a new computer system that went down and was not working on the day we were supposed to leave! We couldn't obtain the visas on Friday [Nov. 17] and they are closed during the weekend. We are now leaving on Monday and the first show will be in Seattle, Washington November 21st.
"I hate to cancel shows and I feel bad for anyone going to the shows who didn't know. We will make this happen no matter what! We are ready to give the gringos hell, haha!"
Brazil has phones and the internet.... there is an no execuse not to let people know... and BTW... their first show was BEFORE the 17th... they should have days before. :tp:
