Death Angel's first show in Florida in 18 years, and man were they on top of things. Fucking blew me away from start to finish. One of the major bonuses was that a few times I would scream " Carnival Justice! " between songs and Ted was like " Did you say Carnival Justice? Good. " And went over and talked to Mark. A few songs later, they announced that they were playing one off the new album that they weren't originally going to do, and it was Carnival Justice. Needless to... [Read More]

Squeak told me about the local PaganFest as I bolted out of Dimmu Borgir in San Francisco a few weeks ago. Squeak asked if I was coming and I figured I’d go if nothing more than to support a friend’s show. The bands on the bill? Never heard... [Read More]

Pyramaze - Immortal

My expectations for this CD were about as high as you could imagine. I was not only a big fan of Matt Barlow with Iced Earth but I also really enjoyed the previous Pyramaze album, "Legend of the Bone Carver". The almighty Barlow's voice had not been heard in over 6 years prior to this album, and I was really anxious to hear how his voice and approach may have changed in his time away from metal and mostly music in general. Being his grand return,... [Read More]
